My husband is bedridden and I'm cooking for him, home care giver and me. It's added stress to have to plan, shop and cook everyday. Switching Kitchens is great to always have back up meals in the freezer. The food is very good. I've enjoyed the chicken pot pie and Sheppard pie. I can easily feed three people for $20 . . . A must try! I absolutely love Switchin' Kitchens. What a treat to open my freezer or fridge and know I have a great quality meal or appetizer in just a few minutes. I keep the Appetizers in my freezers all the time. The chicken Buffalo dip is a huge hit along with the new pork dip and the bloomin Cheese bread. I took both dips to a family event and they devoured it in no time asking where we got it. The single serve is perfect for me for lunch. I sent several of them to a friend who broke her wrist. She loved them all. They were so convenient for her to fix in the Microwave or oven - Chicken and Broccoli is so delicious. Also, SK pick-up at a convenient place is so easy. What a great find! An awesome selection of main courses, appetizers, desserts, veggie dishes and more ready to go. This is a kitchen that prepares and packages quite an impressive menu of items, freezes them and has them ready to go. Depending on the meal or item it might take 45 minutes or so to heat up and serve. How wonderfully convenient! And the meals I have had are delicious. Such a surprise as my wife brought egg plant Parmesan for dinner. I was hesitant, but after a fork-full was full of questions about where they came from. Went with her and a visiting cousin last night to check out the place myself and left impressed and with over $30 of purchases. Their set-up is a very immaculate kitchen, freezers with inventory lists that they continually update and several printed menus. There is a group of items in acetate at the counter of items that they "always have" on-hand. Those pages cover the waterfront offering a good selection, to include vegetarian items...and lots of them. They also have a printout for special occasions and monthly specials. The monthly specials join the always have items. The other menu items are available on-order. Especially good if you are giving a dinner party or catering some event. Prices very reasonable and the individual portions are reasonable. Other than individual portions are packages for 2 - 3 persons and then 4 - 6 people. So you don't have to buy more than you want to consume in a short period. Very friendly and we will be enjoying their menus going forward. We are fans, for sure! read more

Absolutely love this place! I work a lot and don't like to cook. The food tastes incredible and it's easy to make--usually just heat and eat. It's cheaper than eating out and healthier. Obsessed. I am officially obsessed with Switchin Kitchens. It is an absolute GEM. I LOVE this place. I repeat, I LOVE this place. We discovered the magic of SK when a friend brought over sweet potato enchiladas (A MUST TRY!) from the SK "Take and Bake" menu. We were just home from the hospital with our newborn and were enjoying waves of meals from neighbors and friends. As our darling daughter grew and friends delivering meals slowed to a halt, I knew that I needed to find a solution to feed my family that was easy, healthy, fresh, and REAL food. (We ate a lot of take-out during my pregnancy and that just wasn't going to be a realistic solution for my new years resolution: Operation Blast the Baby Jelly Belly. SK offers a HUGE range of fresh entrees, sides, appetizers, and "fun foods." Nutritional information is available and you can order online and pick up later. I prefer to have the chefs at SK assemble my meals, but of course, you can book in and go assemble meals yourself! That way you can alter the meals in any way you'd like (i.e. no mushrooms? less salt? More salt?) There's also a stockpile in their freezers you can go and choose from. I popped in on Christmas eve and picked up a yummy meatball app to nosh on Christmas day! Also, meals are affordable, generous portions (for a family of 3 eaters, we do the 1/2 portions and it's more than enough!) The main entree menu changes monthly, but there are take and bake entrees that are standard every month. I believe the sides and vegetarian entrees stay the same for the most part as well? Favorites so far: Sweet potato enchiladas, Fiesta Bake, Tuscan Chicken, Chicken Cakes, Crock Pot Carnitas, Thai chicken with snow peas, oh....too many to list. Also, be sure to check out the "fun foods" section. Awesome for kids. My 2.5 yo loves cheeseburger pie with pickles! Our new process is to order every week or so. We order online - enough for the week - and pick it up a day or 2 later. Bring them home, pop them in the freezer, and BAM...a healthy fresh new and exciting meal NIGHTLY! It's a LIFESAVER for us (I love to cook but don't have the time, and frankly am not very creative in the kitchen unless I put in a huge effort. This is a great place to grab a quick dinner to make at the house. We ordered Shepherds Pie and found that there are a lot more potatoes instead of meat, veggies, and gravy. We also tried to the Brunswick Stew which was very tasty and on point for what we like. I'll return and try some other items. You can't beat the convenience either way. read more

I have been getting meals from SK for years. I love that they have a new menu every month where you can pick up fresh food to cook for your family. I love, even more, that I can drop by and pick up a few frozen meals when I have failed to prepare for dinner at home. Food is excellent quality. Service is impeccable. Used to stop in for take and bakes quite often. Lately they've just gone downhill. The shepherds pie, chicken tetrazzini, and this last time tried the pesto chicken. All were dry, tasteless, and not fresh tasting. I realize they are frozen and made ahead of time, but wondering how long they had been in that freezer for. A waste of just over $50 since I purchased half servings. Glad that's all I purchased. No, I did not overcook. Thawed as directions stated and baked for time and temp instructed. The customer service has never been the greatest here but this last time was down right rude. These are all women working here. I walked in first and a man shortly behind me. I got a rude "what can I help you with?" I replied grabbing some take and bakes. The man behind me was engaged with conversation immediately and taken care of before me. Mind you I knew exactly what I came in for. Wasn't looking. While the lady with the dark haired mullet just kept laughing with this good looking man, talking about sports, and purely ignoring me. We were the only two in there. It took one of the ladies in the back to finally come out and help me after she noticed I had been waiting. Won't be returning. I can make better tasting shepherds pie. Found this gem just goin to a bar oddly enough. Google and yelped it up and figured I'd give it a go, no regrets there! Delicious meals prepped and rdy to go, just had to toss in the oven (or if it's frozen pie crust leave in fridge 24 hours and cook following day). We've only had 4 items so far but they've all been a hit. Huge fan of the cheeseburger pie and shepards pie... def getting those again and you should too. I've also had the chicken tetrazzini (I added some red hot to it) and the Buffalo chicken dish... excellent choices as well! We've been with SK for 6+ years and love it - especially because it's a local business! The convenience and quality is unmatched! We order a number of home-style meals each month (with no subscription / minimum requirements) through one of their no-fee delivery programs at our preschool. The variety / evolution of their meals month-to-month is great, but we enjoy the return of some of our favorite meals, year-to-year, just as much. My friend hosted a birthday party and had the Sweet Potato Enchiladas amongst the fare, and I have been obsessed with them ever since. Just buy them, lots of them and top them with sour cream and/or salsa if you want to live dangerously. Also get the Cheeseburger casserole with pickles. You will not be disappointed. read more

I went in to give SK a try and use a gift card I purchased in a charity auction. Unbeknownst to me it was expired (that's what I get for storing it in my coupon drawer and forgetting about it). The cashier refused to take it. I asked to speak with a mgr and she shrugged her shoulder, refused to get her, and said, "It's just the owner and she'll tell you the same thing". 1-Don't businesses donate to charities to drum up business? 2-What type of loss/inconvenience would SK incur by accepting the gift certificate.? I donated $ for the full price of the card to the charity. I would have spent more than the amount of the GC that day. 3-It was worth $25 to me. What was it worth to SK? I feel I incurred a loss and they would not have a loss whether they accepted it or not. 4-It's a private owned location. She could have explained their policy and said, "Ok, we'll let it slide this one time. Please came back and visit us again.." I would have been a loyal customer and I would have shared the positive story. In shock I said, "I will never come here again". Her response, "Ok". The cashier was uncaring, unapologetic, and unfriendly. Honestly, she wasn't even outgoing and friendly even before I presented my expired GC. Shop your local small business...but not here. read more
