Okay I know what you're all thinking-- is a BYO Charcuterie place worth it? Well hopefully after you read my review you'll at least be convinced that this place is 100% worth it! I've been wanting to try something like this for a while and I am lucky that I stumbled upon the perfect spot. Onto the food! So there are two options: a small and a large box. The large box features 3 cheeses of your choice, whereas the small is only 1. You get the same amount of meats and sides in both boxes, so we decided to go all out and get the large box. The employee there let us sample everything and guided us through the process to ensure what we wanted was represented in our board. We chose the Truffle, Brie, and Blueberry Goat Cheese. For our meat, we went with the Prosciutto. For our sides, we got Cornichons, Mixed Olives, Marcona Almonds, Berry Jam, and Dried Apricots. The board also came with crackers. The most heavenly bite was spreading the berry jam on a cracker and topping it with brie and prosciutto. It was creamy, melt in your mouth perfection! The Truffle cheese was also delicious and had a pretty strong truffle flavor. The blueberry flavored goat cheese was also delicious with a subtle hints of blueberry and it paired so well with the dried apricots. The pickled items and nuts were also super fresh and yummy. And you get so much of each item, like so much cheese, meat, and sides you can't even think to finish it in one sitting. Sometimes when establishments like this pop up you find yourself wondering is this really worth it? Well I would say with full confidence that this place is. The portions are generous, ingredients are fresh, and the presentation is just adorable. You get exactly what you want in terms of charcuterie and you are guided by the employees to create memorable combinations. read more

We came to Camp Northend specifically for some coffee, but had some time to kill, and visited Babe and Butcher. The staff was super friendly and offered options if you weren't quite sYou get the option of creating your own (mini or regular size) or going with the options they have available. I chose a create your own mini box to try and I totally wished I had gotten several boxes. With the mini you get your choice of one cheese (I did Gouda), one meat (Breslau), three "sides" (cucumbers, strawberries and grapes) then they topped it with edible flowers. I had heard of this place and knew it was charcuterie focused, but didn't realize that they had options to build your own individualized boxes on the spot! I was very excited when I walked in and saw the set up. Both people working were very friendly and gave us the rundown of how it worked. They also provided plenty of recommendations and allowed us to sample a few items. I built myself a regular sized box. During our day trip to Camp North End we stopped in Babe & Butcher to sample a classic charcuterie plate. They had pre-selected trays or you could customize your selection. I love cheese, crackers and fruit so I couldn't go wrong with any tray. The cheeses, creams, meats, vegetables and fruit were on display available for selection. Everything was fresh and looked delicious. The staff was super kind and helpful. I packed my order to go and shared it with my son as we watched a movie. He ate the strawberries and oranges first then the meat and cheese. I paired mine with a glass of wine and thoroughly enjoyed it! Finally tried Babe & Butcher on their 1 year anniversary and it was just as wonderful as I thought it would be! The space is beautiful, with the menu adoring the walls, all the Instagrammable neon signs etc.! They do have some seating outside and of course since it's Camp North End there are even more places to sit. If you haven't been, it's a build your own charcuterie concept that even has vegan options! I got a mini box with walnuts, strawberries, dark chocolate, prosciutto and manchego! When you check-out they also offer you crackers or gluten-free crackers which I thought was a really nice touch. They have larger box options or even cones available which is a great option if you want to walk around Camp North End. I also got a birthday box which came with the amazing Batchmaker's cake, strawberries and macarons. The birthday box would be a perfect gift for a friend as a single size portion! I will definitely come back again! They aren't open on Sundays though so if you're coming on the weekend - go on Saturday! read more

I attended a wine tasting that had three Babe and Butcher full sized boards, which were all beautifully arranged with tasty and unique charcuterie items. The three boards I tried were: the charcuterie board, the flora charcuterie board, and the chocolate dessert board. All were spectacular - I did not try one thing I didn't enjoy. Very excited to try this place since it's right around the corner from our house in Camp Northend. Overwhelming (in a good way) amount of options to build your own charcuterie board. We went with the mini and included Wine Cheddar, Manchengo, Marcone almonds, strawberries and the Manchengo dusted chips. We also added two "mini" Batchmaker chocolate chip cookies (they are normal size because Cris makes huge cookies! Everything tasted fresh and delicious, we absolutely loved the Manchengo cheese, the chips and almonds. Loved that it came with complimentary crackers that were also delish. Strawberries were so juicy and the wine cheese good as well. Batchmaker cookies... ridiculous as usual! What I loved most about this place was the two guys behind the counter. So friendly, helpful and giving us tips as we chose. However... no option for tip?!? Would love to give these guys some money for their helpfulness and friendliness throughout the process.
