I don't even like BBQ. This was a catered event! I went back for 2nds!! I would have gone back for 3rds!! I'm now looking to find where they have their Food trucks!! read more

I recently tried the BBQ Sundae from a food truck event at work. It had layers of slaw, pork, mac & cheese, and baked beans--definitely a cool concept and a fun play on a sundae. The BBQ itself was decent, though a bit expensive for what you get. The portion was deceptively larger than it looked, but I do wish there was more BBQ sauce throughout the layers to really tie it all together. read more

Had the pulled pork plate at the Matthews Beats & Bites evening. It was delicious! Not too salty as many are. So tender and not fatty. Excellent BBQ sauce--the perfect balance for me. I didn't care for the dry rub coleslaw until I mixed it with the pork. It made the flavor that much better in the pork. read more

The person working charged me $15 each for two platters instead of $8+$2 for $10. I told him, and he just kinda grumbled like he had no clue. I didn't feel like arguing, so am leaving them a review. One mediocre sandwich and a side. Leaving these reviews everywhere too. Food wasn't that good either. read more

Went to the Vibe event at the Cultural Arts Center and decided to give this truck a try since I remember seeing great things about it. I decided to go with the sliders bc I wanted to try the brisket and the pork. It said on the menu they came with sauce and slaw but there was no slaw and the sliders were cold. The meat was cold and the buns seemed like they were just pulled out of the pack and no heat to them. Overall the sauce and flavor was good and the brisket and pork were cooked well but I would like for the food to be hot and include what it's supposed to have. I would try again-and just ask them to make sure it's hot. read more

everything is smoked! So you know the flavors are cooked in . From traditional pork and brisket to wings (seasonal), chicken, salmon (yes salmon!) and hot dogs for the kids- everything is smoked. The mac& cheese, and baked beans and sweet potatoes too Only thing that's not is the egg rolls and the slaw but it's dry rub slaw the same dry rub used to smoked the meat. Go for the famous BBQ sundae with a layer of beans, mac, choice of meat, sauce: BBQ (mix between East/West NC)or Buffalo, and slaw on top * Mix BBQ & buffalo Sauce-thank me later. Sandwiches(no side) Meat Plate (2 sides) Sides avg $2-$3 (you can ask for a side plate) Drinks $1 My favorite is a Salmon sundae with a BBQ Buffalo mix-Thank me later! Perfect for private, small, large events and everything in between. You'll enjoy your meal whatever you have. read more

Just tried the bbq sundae at sycamore. Didn't disappoint. Comes in a plastic cup and has a layer of beans at the bottom, baked Mac n cheese in the middle, and I got pork on top (choices of pork, chicken, and brisket). Also comes with slaw but I omitted this one as I don't care for it. It was very tasty. The bbq sauce was very good and the ingredients tasted fresh. The guy running it was very nice and we got our food very quick. Would highly recommend. Thanks for the delicious food! read more

Had a chance to try this truck for lunch......I had the pulled chicken, mac n cheese, and baked beans and it was all pretty good. The chicken and mac n cheese had a smoky flavor which is different for mac n cheese but it was still good, but what made me a fan of this place were the egg rolls...that's right the bbq sundae egg roll(mac n cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, bbq, and sauce)........they very best thing on that truck...hands down! read more

Yuuuurpp this food truck is legit!!! My 2nd food truck experience in Charlotte (they were at South End Food Truck Friday) since I moved here a few months ago. I asked "what should I experience?" The handsome fella that worked the truck said "Pork BBQ SUNDAE!" It was amazing!!! Layers of pork bbq, max & cheese, slaw that wasn't just coleslaw (I don't eat coleslaw) this slaw was something yummy, and baked beans. Try it out and don't be all "that sounds fat & gross" just do it!!! It's like your bbq picnic plate and you pushes your fork thru everything for a perfect bite! read more

Just tried their food truck at Sycamore Brewery. The first thing that caught me was the pricing. For just $11, I got a huge portion of chopped pork, Mac and cheese AND sweet potatoes. The bbq was the perfect balance of Smokey and sweet - I'm dying to try it on a sandwich with some slaw. The Mac and cheese was creamier than I expected but still had a nice thick top layer. And the sweet potato was literally perfect, didn't need anything extra. More than anything, it was quick! I was so surprised their line wasn't wrapped around! read more

We ordered the bbq at a Kannapolis Intimidators game, and it was awesome. We ordered the sundae dog, which as a hot dog topped with Mac and cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. We also got the pork bbq plate with Mac and cheese and coleslaw. Everything was delicious! The pulled pork was smoky with sweet bbq on top, some crunchy bits and ends. Lots of local bbq places don't have great sides, but this place had awesome sides. The coleslaw was creamy and crunchy but really flavor with dry rub spice mixed it. The Mac and cheese was awesome, cheesy, delicious. The people in the truck were super friendly and nice even though they were busy and it was crazy hot. The prices were good for the amount of food you got, and really just super delicious! We will be back to try the bbq sundae and chicken! read more

I think that something probably went wrong in the kitchen this day, but this was probably the worst chicken BBQ I've ever had in Charlotte. I had this yesterday at food truck Friday at sycamore, and the chicken tasted like day-old cardboard. I usually will eat most things, but I actually had to stop eating the food and throw it out because it was that bad. The Mac and cheese is the reason this gets 2 stars - it was average Mac and cheese but the highlight on the plate. Everyone I spoke with said that the chicken was really bad but the pork was good, so I assume something went wrong with the chicken that day! read more

Service was excellent but my food could have been better at Food Truck Friday. The gentleman taking orders was hilarious and very personable. He provided recommendations when needed and was efficient in moving customers through the line. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork plate with 2 sides of macaroni and cheese because most of the sides I was interested were unavailable. The Mac and cheese had a good consistency and taste however it wasn't very warm which was quite disappointing. The pulled pork was my bigger let-down because I came across multiple fat blobs which normally cook down quite a bib. I also found several hard pieces that were inedible. For the cost, I feel the portion wasn't great and if the food quality was better I wouldn't have minded as much. Not sure I will be rushing to try this over other options in the future. read more

Not so much a food truck as a trailer, this business is all about smoky BBQ with a few unique offerings that get points for originality. The menu breaks down pretty simply, you can have you choice of meat with as a sandwich (i.e. it's loaded between a bun) or as a platter, with your choice of 2 sides. Sides are Southern style and just what one would expect (baked beans, cole slaw, mac n' cheese, etc.). The meats are smoked and carry that flavor profile, along with a healthy dose of the BBQ sauce, which is a nice combo of tangy and sweet. Finger lickin' good to this guy! Sadly, the smoky flavor also carrie into the mac n' cheese, which is a downgrade in my book. I'd prefer the creamy richness of a good melting cheese to contrast against the smokiness and tang of the meat and sauce. In the originality column, though, is their salmon offering. Flaky, moist and it works surprisingly well with the BBQ sauce. I've got a new go-to at this mobile kitchen. Same goes for their spring rolls, and in particular the one stuffed with sweet potato. A crispy on the outside, yet chewy on the inside, wonton wrapper surrounds essentially the quintessential sweet potato casserole, complete with melted marshmellow, cinnamon, and butter. All deep friend to a golden brown. Folks, this is a serious fat boy food, but just one bite will have you finding every justification possible to finish off the very last bite. The same should be said for their BBQ Sundae. Now, you can't be a person who doesn't like their different foods to touch, but if you like to swirl it all up and taste the creation, this is for you. Layers of baked beans, cole slaw, meat and sauce all in a big cup. It's a full meal in a 16oz cup! It won't appeal to everybody, but it is clearly a hot seller and unique to this kitchen. In all, the meats are well smoked and flavored, the BBQ sauce is delectable and the sweet potato egg rolls should not be missed. When it's time for hearty dinner, this mobile kitchen knows how to lay it down. read more

The food is very good and the prices was not bad. I truly think they have found a top secret with there sauce it's great.

This BBQ rocks, we had food trucks at our church tonight an OoWee BBQ was one of them. I told the guy I'm a BBQ snob in southern girl who loves BBQ but pulled pork vinegar. The owner George who is very down to earth an pleasant to deal with. He told he had his own base for his BBQ. It smelled so good I had to try it. I had the brisket sandwich with Mac n cheese. The BBQ wAs juicy an flavorful melt in your mouth. The Mac n cheese was perfectly cooked n cheesey. George said they do food truck Friday so check this truck out you won't be disappointed. read more

Ooo-wee! This food truck came by my job for lunch so I'm a tad biased due to convenience! And I'm from Lexington, NC area so bah-buh-cue is my thang! As chopped BBQ "sammiches" go this one is pretty good!! The sauce is sweet like I like it and it was refreshing to have Mac and cheese that wasn't kraft! Give them a try! You're welcome. read more

Great food on this truck. Their BBQ sundae is a great deal and their sides are fun (the smoked sweet potato is a new one on me!) What I like even more about them is how they help out the other trucks when the need arises. I'm just a customer, but when I see them help a late-comer truck get set up quickly I understand very much how these guys are committed to doing things the right way. Haven't had a single thing from them I didn't like. read more

Top food truck in CLT!! I always find them at Sycamore Brewery for Food Truck Friday. Mac & Cheese off this truck is to die for but they smoke all of the meats so they are tremendous. This isn't the most elite of food trucks but they certainly have some competitive offerings. Who would think a BBQ vendor would have a variety of egg rolls on the menu?! Well these aren't your typical egg rolls! I tend to overeat when I visit OooWee. There are so many things that I want to try, I can't decide on just one. I've yet to try an egg roll that I didn't like but the sweet potato egg roll is a rolled piece of heaven! Can I have another? Nope, sold out. Wha!? Yep, they sell out fast so get to them early and get what you want first because THEY WILL RUN OUT! They are just that good! BBQ sundae? No, it doesn't come with ice cream and chocolate syrup. This concoction consists of layers of mac-n-cheese, baked beans, your choice of meat, coleslaw and BBQ sauce. It took a lot for me to try this beast of a sundae because I rotate my plate; I'm not a food mixer. If you eat your steak and potatoes in one shared bite, we probably can't be friends. Despite my hesitation, I had to give this novelty a try. I know, I've come a long way, right?! It was actually quite tasty! I'm not a huge fan of their mac-n-cheese though. The downside to this dish is the collection of grease at the bottom of the cup that then encompasses the mac-n-cheese. Boo. Perhaps a better option would be to put the meat and BBQ sauce in the bottom with the coleslaw on top, then the beans and finally the mac. With the sauce as the syrup to top it off, gravity takes effect. I want chocolate syrup throughout my ice cream sundae but I don't so much want BBQ sauce all through my mac-n-cheese and such. Either way, I'll give it to them for creativity and uniqueness. Good BBQ and excellent egg rolls. OooWee is good to me! Give them a try and see what you think! read more

Delicious BBQ and egg rolls. I love catching this food truck around town! They have great staff too! All around wonderful.

We just tried OooWee BBQ for the first time tonight! It was hands down the best BBQ we have had in the Carolinas. We will definitely be returning to try out the restaurant very soon! read more

I'll get the bad out of the way first. OooWee is by far the greasiest food truck OR BBQ I've ever experienced. If you get a plate of BBQ, my experience is that there's a full quarter inch of oil, minimum, at the bottom of the tray. I've taken to transitioning the meat to the top of the styrofoam container to allow it to drain. Without this step it's positively inedible. Ditto for their (still delicious) mac and cheese. This is really frustrating because to me, this could be remedied with a very small alteration to their equipment or serving process. A slotted spoon with a press should be an absolute no brainer. The level of disgust that the pooling generates takes OooWee from a "Get every time I see it/4 star" truck to "Only if I'm desperate for BBQ/3 star" truck. In terms of the good, the smoked mac is delicious and plenty cheesy - standard fare with a bit of a twist. Likewise, their coleslaw with dry rub salt is a big step up - I'm not normally a fan of straight up mayo slaw but the salt helps minimize that mayo flavor. The pork is pretty tender and the BBQ sauce is a southern-style tomato and molasses base. One critique is that the actual smokiness of the pork is a bit lacking - almost less than the mac and cheese. Maybe use less oil in the smoking process....? Frankly I haven't had anything else from the truck. It's a simple and to-the-point menu which is refreshing. The standard $1-2 food truck trend tax applies to most of the dishes here, but rest assured that the purchase of their $11 platter will leave you satisfied. read more

Visited OooWee while at Triple C this weekend. I am a huge barbecue fan and feel like I have a lot of experience with different bbq in different parts of the country to draw my opinion from. I had the pulled BBQ sandwich and the mac n cheese. It was certainly edible but I was underwhelmed. The sandwich was pretty good but a little skimpy on the meat. The mac n cheese wasn't very cheesy and it was floating in oil, which is something I haven't come across before and would be happy to never come across again. Overall it was decent but I wouldn't chase this food truck around town for a second helping. read more

I recently had OooWee BBQ at Food Truck Friday at Sycamore Brewing. I'm not generally big on pulled pork, but I could not resist trying the BBQ Sundae. Holy smokes, it was tasty! It consists of hearty layers of sweet and smoky baked beans, creamy mac and cheese, your choice of meat (they have smoked pulled pork, chicken, brisket, and salmon if I'm remembering correctly), and fresh coleslaw, all topped with a drizzle of BBQ sauce. Each layer seems more delicious than the one before and the different flavors all work together perfectly. And I love the novelty of a savory sundae! It's served in a large sundae cup that is perfect for a food truck event with limited seating. It was easy to hold in one hand and eat while we were walking around checking out the other trucks and trying different beers. The BBQ Sundae is a must try! It's ideal for your first visit to OooWee because you get a taste of so many of their offerings all in one. I can't wait to have it again! Also, while standing in line I noticed an IU logo on the side of the truck. Since I'm a native Hoosier myself and remember my time in Bloomington fondly, I asked about it. Turns out the owner, George, also went to IU and was on the basketball team. He and his wife were so friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them. OooWee is my new favorite truck in Charlotte and I can't recommend it enough. You will not be disappointed! read more
