I was staying at a nearby hotel, and I love frozen yogurt so I was thrilled to see a place right by our hotel. I went to Swirll two nights in a room. The place is really small and doesn't have much room for people to sit, but there are a few tables and chairs inside and a table outside. There were always people there when I went. Swirll looked very clean and was well stocked when I went. There were some non-fat flavors as well as no sugar added flavors. They also had some non-dairy flavors too and gluten free flavors. There were also a bunch of fruit toppings, candy toppings, and sauce toppings. I always went for marshmallows sauce though there was also chocolate and caramel. It's weighed by the ounce, but I didn't think it was all that expensive. It's reasonably priced. Service was really good. Both members of staff were really nice each night I went. Was in town for a day and decided to look for a. Ice cream spot. Came upon Swirll and decided to try out their frozen yogurt. I wasn't prepared to be as pleased as I was. I honestly didn't think frozen yogurt was going to give me the flavor and taste I wanted from ice cream. I like the area where this shop is located. It's an upscale shopping area with a hotel/conference center and lots of restaurants and shops. It's a really cute area and it's not far from several hotels. There was lots of parking on the street too. The shop looked dated on the inside. The frozen yogurt machines and even some of the signage looked old. The setup is also dated. There are some improvements to decor and layout that would do this business some good. There was one employee working and she was really helpful. She allowed me to taste two flavors and I was impressed with the flavor. The machines were clean and so was the rest of the shop. Some flavors were out and there was handwritten signage to indicate that. Your items are weighed and that is how cost is determined. I paid $25 for two bowls of frozen yogurt. It was worth it. Everything tasted amazing and I enjoyed all of the topping options. The ones in the back were harder to reach, but the options were plentiful. Solid froyo flavors and yummy toppings yet compared to its competitors, there's areas for improvement. To start off, love the flavors. They are not too sweet, various, and solid "old faithfuls". I do wish they would add some new flavors or incorporate some seasonal flavors to bring some vibrancy. Also this place is def a bit more expensive compared to other froyo places and that is always a standout factor for ratings, I wouldn't say the quality reflects the slightly higher price they offer Also I'm not a huge fan of the seating area. We happened to run into this place while walking around in Town Center. When we walked in we immediately felt a different environment, it felt clean, fresh, and inviting. The host behind the counter made sure we were informed in all of our options and ingredients. Lots of different candy and chocolate choices. Price seemed to be on par with most of the froyo places. The space is limited here with very few tables to sit at. This would be my only complaint here. This place is brand new but already it has a huge following! Frozen Yogurt in lots of different flavors (vanilla, chocolate, cookies & cream, mango, and many fruit flavors). There are tons of toppings options (cookies, candy cars, gummi bears, fruit, sprinkles, etc....). You can ask for tiny little taster cups to try the flavors before you get a bunch of it. Some of the fruit flavors are quite tart! This place is FULL of teens and college kids. It's a little hard to fight your way through them sometimes. If it is prime time in Sugar Land, you'll have to park in the garage just to get frozen yogurt. They have plenty of seating outside, which is really nice in the evening. I can't believe this place is operating in town center with such filthy conditions. Looking back now, I probably shouldn't have eaten that frozen yogurt. There were at least 3 water leaks (dirty, yellow water) from the roof actively dripping right in front of where you pour your ice cream. In order to get my froyo, I had to stand under the leaks with dirty water dripping on me. Going from one flavor to the next, I had to cover my cup with my hand to avoid any water dripping into my cup. How ridiculous is it that they are still operating with such conditions? If your place is in such conditions, please consider closing down until the leaks are fixed instead of trying to make money while jeopardizing people's health. Also, this was the first frozen yogurt place I have been to where they don't trust you with sample cups; the worker came with us and asked what flavors we wanted to try and filled them for us. Hey Swirll saved the day for us after a not so great dinner experience at a nearby restaurant we decided we still should have dessert and Swirll froyo was amazing they offered great options with even better toppings to choose from. Staff were friendly in helping with samples and they offer gloves to use to prepare your own froyo so that was great to see. The restaurant doesn't offer much indoor seating so we chose outdoor and it was nice to sit out and enjoy our dessert as it's not often we are not off to the next thing to do. Am I getting old? In a perfect world, Swirll would get three stars from me. There's several flavors that I like that they always have on hand, although they've purposefully set out cups that are much larger than you'd get elsewhere to encourage you to buy a larger serving than you intend. Since they price based on weight, it's not hard to drop $7 or 8 on a cup of yogurt if you get carried away. There's a large selection of toppings, although some things don't look very appetizing, especially since hundreds of people have been through this self-serve line before you got there, and when it gets busy the topping bar can be a bit messy. But it's the crowds of high school students that pack this place on weekends that have me dishing up a big bowl of hate for Swirll at Sugar Land Town Square. I hate the lines, I hate the noise, I hate being shoulder to shoulder with a teeming mass of people who aren't always being the most sanitary as they go through the line. So I cringe every time I walk in there on a weekend night. Maybe I'm old. But I am juvenile enough to point out that the spoons they provide to scoop up the toppings look like a c*ck & nutsack. read more

Always the last stop anytime we meet friends out at Town Square for a meal or shopping or whatever. You pay by the ounce here so prices can range from cheap to $5+ depending on how much froyo you put in the bottom of your cup. That's usually the most weighty of items you'll buy. They have clear drinking cups that we always use so we can see our creations as we go through the fixin' line. Start by choosing your vessel, then choose from the multitude of froyo available. I'm a fan of the creme brulee, wedding cake and French vanilla. You can mix and match. But remember, you need to save room for toppings and don't need to fill the cup with the creamy stuff. Once you have put your base yogurt in you are confronted with all sorts of yummy toppings. Fruits, nuts, candies, sprinkles, hot fudge, marshmallow, milk/dark/white chocolate chips and these delicious little juice ball things that pop when you eat them. I LOVE THOSE THINGS! They come in many fruit flavors and I like to layer them in the cup. They are light and don't add much to the bottom line of cost either! Get to the front, weigh your cup, pay and enjoy!! Four of us usually get out for less than $20. The place is small and seating inside can be impossible on a busy weekend night. We usually get ours and take a stroll along the main drag to do a little window shopping or sit on one of the many benches. read more

I am very picky about my frozen yogurt. The last time I remember enjoying froyo was back in the day when The Yogurt Spot on Bellaire was open. I was such a green tea addict and was totally devastated when they shut down. I like the Swirll locations because their toppings are better and their yogurt isn't sickeningly sweet like some other places. (I'm lookin' at you, Menchie's!) This particular location is my favorite because it's a great place to people-watch. I like the vibe of Town Center. It's not the typical shopping plaza or strip mall. My go-to flavor is tart because I don't like anything distracting from the toppings. The last time I was here, I branched out a little and went for their creme brulee - holy moly, it's AMAZING. Y'know when you bite into the first spoonful of creme brulee and it's a mamba of caramelized, crunchy, sugary goodness? This flavor tastes exactly like that! I've tried other dessert-y flavors at other places, like red velvet or birthday cake, and have been permanently scarred. However, the creme brulee flavor at Swirll has restored my tentative faith in the froyo world. Mochi bits are a necessity and I am so glad that Swirll has them. I come here really often because it is near my home. I love eating sweets and desserts after meals and I consider frozen yogurt a "healthy" choice. I always get the acai raspberry, pomegranate, and strawberry. I usually put lots of almonds, walnuts, and pecans because I feel like it is a bang for the buck since nuts are pricey and light in weight. I have had better frozen yogurt, mostly in Los Angeles, and I give swirll a 4 star because I know there is room for improvement. Parking really does suck, so I would not come here during the weekends. Out of all the yogurt places I have tried in Houston, Swirl is my favorite. They have my personal favorite strawberry flavored yogurt which has the right amount of tart that I love! They have other flavors also but I'm a strawberry/original yogurt fan. Warning though: This place gets packed thus no seats and it makes me feel hesitant to even go in to get something. Its town center, what do I expect? Another warning is to not come here when they are about to close. They are nice enough to let people in when they are about to close but the problem is that they turn off their machines which make the yogurt not as stiff. That is why I give this place 4 stars. Also, maybe it's a family establishment and I'm all for teaching kids about business but two little girls kept being around the toppings/register as if the cashier was babysitting.
