Come here if you are looking for a let down. First time I go, I'm standing there waiting to be seated. I'll sit myself, I don't mind... but I just didn't see anyone working on the floor. Whatever, maybe it's an off day. I leave. The 2nd time I give it a go it's the super bowl, I call them the day of in the morning or whenever they opened on a long shot and just ask if they can take an order for 75 wings or something if that amount. The young lady who answered the phone checked with the kitchen and said yes they can handle it, I was ecstatic. I get there for 6pm to pick them up which was the time I was told to come by..... waited an hour. Was told they were coming out probably 5 times, but the reality was they never put them in. The girl then says "well you shouldn't call the day of." Well, maybe you shouldn't say you can accommodate when you answered the phone this morning? But you're right, it's my fault. 2021 rolls around we give it one more shot. Went here because my friends live near by. I started off with the Sweet Tea (alcoholic drink). Super watery and a waste of $14. I had the combo of pulled pork and brisket platter for my meal. To me this are BBQ staples and if you can't get these right I don't think you should do BBQ. The brisket was very much underwhelming the pulled pork was solid. Neither of which peaked my interest since I've had BBQ trucks that blow this place out of the water. I had a side of Mac and cheese which was decent at best. I didnt quite understand how a place with a pig for a picture ran out of pork. It was cool..i had second and third choices. Started out with fried pickles (nice greasy and bbbbaaaddd for you), cornbread with maple butter, and pulled brisket (no i did not eat this all by myself...it doesnt sound humanly possible). Some highlights: wwwwaaaannnggggssss. I dont know spice rub they use but damn it is good. The choice of dipping sauces (i had the chipotle honey and the tangy bbq they bring to the table will change your life) and their american lemonade (dont remember what was in it) are capable of inducing labor. Wanna start off saying normally this place is so good and let us stay however long etc Food was good and drinks were good but upon finishing our drinks with the intentions to order a second round our waitress asked if we wanted the check. When we replied we'd hang out for a little she replied " well not for too long i have a reservation coming okay?" We had only been there for an hour. While I cannot disagree that the service is not ideal, it is far from unpleasant. Our server for the night was young, and she admitted it was her first night on the floor. She was very pleasant- when she was present. At one point the owner came over to get our main entree order. The place was packed to the gills, and the smell beckoned for miles! We started with the fried pickles, which were crispy, succulent and full of flavour. They are not common in this region, and are a special treat to those in the know. The sauce with which they were served was a perfect pairing. While waiting for drinks, or on the next course, there are mountains of spicy peanuts to pick at. For my entree, I had a healthy sampling of the Brisket, Pulled Pork and a side of Mac and also a side of Cole Slaw. My guest for the evening had a full rack of ribs...which were so infernally good! The meat has an amazing bark on top and falls off of the bone with no effort. The main course took almost an hour, but every moment spent waiting was more than paid off for with each bite consumed. Between the perfect char and amazing smoke rings, I was quite satiated. We didn't even bother with the sampling of all of the BBQ sauces - the meat spoke for itself. The House sauce was good, but next time I will try some others. The Cole Slaw was homemade- sweet and vinegary - a perfect blend. The Mac and Cheese was like a crunchy stew - each bite was like masticating an angel. These folks know what BBQ truly is! Went here last night with the family and attempted their food eating challenge. The amount of food that needed to be eaten was ridiculous but I've eaten that much with no problem before. The thing that I'm very disappointed about is that they purposely dry out the food they serve you for the challenge. It's like they put it in a dehydrator and I know they dry it out purposely because everyone else at the table had the same food that came with the challenge such as the ribs chicken and cornbread and it was moist and tender. The Christmas lights, tree, the lights inside, the wall was taken down and booths were taken out but boy does it look amazing the ambiance was killer and the new light up sign and art is great. I came on a Tuesday and went in knowing exactly what I wanted... FRIED CHICKEN and that's exactly what I got. It was a huge portion and took a bit of time but the server did tell us ahead of time that it takes about 20 minutes because they cook it fresh. I got the Mac and cheese as my side and it was just a perfect meal. Who doesn't love chicken and Mac? I wanted a drink and our wonderful server recommended one of their new drinks it was something with apple in it and it was a perfect addition to my meal. Our servers name started with an "A" it was Amanda or Ashley but she was awesome! The service made the whole experience that much better.. she told us about all the specials they offer on other days so I will definitely be coming back more often. We started with wings. They were perfectly fried and they came with a variety of sauces. I got pulled pork and shrimp tacos. They were flavorful and packed with many different toppings. Pretty good, above average BBQ, and by far the best wings I have ever had. The staff could be more friendlier. The hostess and waitress were equally as unfriendly. Though I love the food and the atmosphere. It was very difficult to eat with mice running around a few feet away from you. Granted it was outside, the mice were still going in and out through a hole in the restaurant wall, so it did raise some concerns. Love the food, but staff and attentiveness were on the opposite end of the spectrum. When we asked the waitress what the mice were about, she sort of just shrugged and didn't have an answer. Forget what you heard, this is real BBQ! The BBQ challenge on the menu is a real challenge to finish. It was NOT packed. Took forever for waitress to come over. When she did she expected us to be ready to order w no questions. I immediately knew this was the same girl from the phone. My friend doesn't like water w ice so she asked the bus boy for water w no ice(since waitress was taking so long) He came right out w it. The food was great. I liked mine.. a chicken sandwich. My friends didn't love their food. One of my friends didn't like her meal and they refused to take it back and exchange it unless she paid full price. She kept complaining and they just made her meal half off. She didn't even enjoy her food. Then my friend tried asked waitress for water w no ice. This was her response.. "no" and stormed away. As she was walking away my friend was saying she JUST received some from bus boy. Waitress ignored. I have never in my life been so disgusted w a place. I rarely even use Yelp . Just wanted to talk about this experience. There's more. My friend tried calling up to complain about our time there and they wouldn't get back to her.
