Loaded Nachos with Smoked Brisket and a side of Chili :)
    Lauren S.

After a beautiful beach day at Long Beach, I was starving for dinner -- there's something about burning a lot of calories while swimming, but I digress....LOL. Swingbellys is a beachside BBQ spot in Long Beach's West End (gotta love the beachy vibes in that neighborhood) that was an absolute gem of a discovery. They offered Mexican Monday specials, so we sat outside and devoured INCREDIBLE loaded nachos, with smoked brisket and a side of chili, and a variety of tacos. (And OMG, l'm still craving that brisket!) The smoked brisket was out-of-this-world-good and literally melted in our mouths in the best way possible. We also sampled their pulled chicken and pulled pork tacos that were seriously delicious as well! This place will forever be on my radar now, and it's a perfect post-beach hang!

Went here with my fiancée and one of my good friends to have a night out together. The staff was very professional with assisting us. I must say, the food was incredible! Everything was well seasoned and cooked just right. And you get a lot of food for the price. We had a great experience and I recommend anyone visits Long Beach to check this place out.

The menus says the meal is $55

Website says The Challenge meal is $55. Ordered it for takeout. When I got there, they charged me $86 dollars. I thought I was incorrect so I paid it. When I got home, I checked and I was correct, the website says $55. I called today to ask about it and they said the website is wrong. Made no effort to give a coupon or anything to apologize for their incorrect advertising. As a result, I am leaving a 1 star review.

the email from manager that never called me.

Ordered the thanksgiving catering deal for a friendsgiving for 12/16 to be picked up at 4pm originally. Called the day prior to change the time to 5:30/6ish which i was told it wouldn't be an issue. got there at 5:45 to pick it up and was told it wouldn't be ready until 6:30. annoying but fine mistakes happen. go back at 6:35 and was given the tray with the turkey and two other half trays i ordered (pulled pork and mac and cheese). since this was a promotion they were running i assumed all the sides included with the turkey were on one big tray. made it all the way back home and got a call saying there were more trays waiting for me that they forgot to give me (after telling me everything was there). went back, picked them up. was told to pull up outside and call them and they would walk it out. called, told the girl working where we were parked and even flashed our lights at her when she came outside with the trays and still could not find us. had to get out and grab the trays they forgot to give. i get back home and they still forgot a tray. called back and explained that there was yet another mistake. was put on hold for almost 15 minutes after being told the manager was walking in as well. was asked to drive back to pick up the remaining tray and was finally offered an "i'm sorry" for the first time after dealing with issues the entire time. was told someone could deliver it and was walking out the door as we spoke. driver did not arrive until 20 minutes later and was halfway down my block walking up to the wrong house. reached out to swingbelly's directly and got an email back from the manager saying they would be calling me the next day. it's been a week and i've heard nothing back. the only positive experience was the food but for almost $400 and all the aggravation i will not be returning. the staff always seems to be in a bad mood, especially the day this all happened. sad to see a local place treat their customers like this.

The portions were huge and everything we tried was good. The pulled pork was a bit dry but the bbq sauce made up for it.

I met up with a friend last month who wanted to get BBQ at Swingbelly's. I never heard of it before and like trying new places so I was looking forward to eating here. The place is on a road in Long Beach that seemed pretty lively with different bars and people having a good time. We went on a Saturday night and the place was pretty packed out. There is a bar area on the left side and restaurant seating on the right side. Somes guys were screaming at a game going on and the environment was very loud. Thankfully, they have outdoor seating so we opted for that. I went to the bathroom and had another look at the interior as I made my way towards it. The vibe is very dive bar-ish and the interior is old and wooden. There was a sweaty, sticky atmosphere that was unappetizing and the bathroom was pretty bad. I got a coke with lemon as my drink and we ordered the nachos ($12) with chicken (additional $4) as an appetizer. The coke tasted really watered down for some reason and wasn't very satisfying. I wasn't impressed with the nachos either and felt it was worse than nachos at Applebee's. The chicken was very dry and they put olives in the nachos, which I don't like. I probably should've been more careful and ordered it without olives. I ordered the pork and brisket platter ($19) as my main course. When the food came out, I was really happy with how much food they gave. It was enough for two people and the portions were enormous. I got the mac and cheese as a side and it was very satisfying. Since they give so much of it I was able to take consistent bites of it between my BBQ items and that was great. The brisket was a little underwhelming. It wasn't horrible, but I guess the brisket I've had at other BBQ places such as Mighty Quinn's and even Smoking Al's have set the bar decently high. Same goes for the pulled pork; it was decent but not great. Both meats were satisfying enough but I got a little tired of it a bunch of bites in. So all in all, I wasn't very impressed with Swingbelly's. I think the place itself gave me a bad impression to start and the food wasn't great. It is a big positive that they give a lot of food so I will give them points there. Value wise, I think the prices are a bit high considering what you get. $16 for the chicken nachos in particular is a bad value. If I ever come here again I'll note to skip appetizers because the main course items are a lot of food. Cheers.

I heard some great things about this BBQ place. I unfortunately couldn't get in, as I am disabled and they are NOT wheelchair accessible.

I am not a coleslaw person (like... ever), but this one changed me. The veggies were crisp, the dressing was perfectly balanced -- not too sweet, not too heavy -- and honestly, I could eat a tub of it and not get tired. Character development unlocked. We decided to share the Heartburn Wrap, which was definitely big enough for two. Minor user error on my part -- I thought it came with pastrami and hot peppers, but apparently I ordered it wrong. That one's on me, and trust and believe I'm running it back next time the correct way. We also shared the matzo ball soup and let me tell you... it tasted like somebody's bubbe made it with love and a little bit of magic. Straight up warm hug in a bowl. Service-wise, our server wasn't exactly warm and fuzzy -- but honestly, I didn't come here to make friends. I came to eat, and on that front, Lido's absolutely delivered. Bottom line: phenomenal food, generous portions, and we will 100% be back. Must try.

I got a bowl of matzo ball soup and split a sandwich with my mother. That along with the all you can eat kosher dill pickles filled me up nice and good. Two things to keep in mind though. In the winter, there is a really cold draft so be sure to dress warm if you were eating in. Also, the parking isn't great, but there is a lot across the street.
