We randomly came across Swing Theory when trying to find something to do. We were originally looking at Top Golf but it had a long wait and it was over 100 degrees outside so that was a big no for me. Indoor golf with air conditioning was perfect! I don't golf but my husband does so I enjoyed having the nice comfy sofas for me to sit. The simulators also have other games besides the range and courses to make it more fun for non golfers or kids. There's also a camera that shows the ball contact with the club and you can replay it and see all the stats from your hit! Again not a golfer but thought that was so neat to see! The location isn't obvious, it's inside the building on the second floor so I was glad they had a sign in front. Just enter through the front entrance of the building under the awning that says Royal. Or you can see other people with clubs coming/leaving and follow them. Highly recommend if you're looking for something to do indoors or if you're a golfer wanting to get some practice in. read more

Had a great experience at Swing Theory today playing golf for a few hours with some friends! I thought it was really nice that they had a small putting green area with kids' play golf clubs so that kids could play & stay entertained while their parents utilized one of the bays. This makes it easier for parents with kids to hang out there with their friends - everybody is happy! The space is open and spacious and the equipment is top notch. Would recommend to all golfers or even non-golfers who are looking for something fun to do. One of the girls in our group never played golf before but still played a round with us and had a fun time. They have 4 hitting bays, one private. They also offer microphones for Karaoke in the private bay upon request. Unfortunately they don't sell food but they don't mind you bringing your own. We had my daughter's first birthday at Swing Theory and it was amazing. The space is big, bright, and flexible, and the owner was incredibly kind and helpful from start to finish. We had about 65 guests and the venue never once felt crowded. The AC kept everything cool and comfortable even in the hot weather, which made a huge difference for our guests. The setup was so easy because they had extra chairs and tables available for us, and we could decorate the space exactly how we wanted. There is also a private room that we turned into a kids play area, which worked perfectly with the soft play rental we brought in. In that room we were able to put Ms. Rachel on the projector and TV, and the kids absolutely loved it. We also played a slideshow of our daughter on the TVs in the main area, which made the whole party feel extra special and personal. Adults were able to relax, mingle, and enjoy the golf simulators while the kids were happily occupied. They even have a small putt putt area for kids to play, which was such a fun bonus. One of the reasons we booked Swing Theory was because Pasadena has so many great food caterers, and it was so convenient to order food for the party and bring it in. They also have a long bar table area where we placed all of our food and drinks buffet style, which worked out perfectly for guests. The kitchen area was another huge help since we could store drinks, cake, and extra decorations out of the way. Public parking at De Lacey parking structure is right across from Swing Theory, so our guests had no trouble figuring out the logistics. Throughout the day the owner went above and beyond, even helping direct our soft play vendor on where to park and unload. Everyone from our older guests to toddlers had a great time. We even hooked up our Switch in one of the bays to play Super Smash Bros which was such a fun bonus. We got so many compliments on our party. I cannot recommend Swing Theory enough for anyone planning a party or event in Pasadena. It truly made my daughter's first birthday so special. read more

I spent two hours here with my regular golf buddy in a private bay, and I have zero complaints. The staff was helpful, welcoming, and made the whole experience easy. This was my first full sim session (outside of a club fitting), and we had a lot of fun. Parking is close and reasonably priced. I can see this becoming a regular thing for me. It's not a substitute for being outdoors on a real course, but it could definitely take the place of some of my practice sessions at the range. It's a great way to confirm what's going on in your swing and whether you're actually hitting the center of the clubface. You can even use your own golf balls. The cost is more than a bucket at a driving range, but you get far more out of it. This is a must-try for serious golfers and also for anyone who just wants to "smack some balls" with friends. Just came here with a couple of friends and loved it! Space is clean and spacious. Owners were awesome. They had TV's going while the Dodger game was on so you dont miss your favorite sporting event & even a lounge area. As someone whose never golfed, I was really impressed with the technology. They have a computer/recording system that gives data and it allows you to replay and figure out how to improve your stroke. It really helped me by the end of our session! I recommend parking off Delacey lot, for easy access to the suite especially if you're bringing your own clubs. Swing theory is one of the best things to come to Pasadena in a really long time! People are definitely turning their heads when they see people carrying around clubs in the middle of old town. There is ample parking across the street and once in the building you can take the stirs (or elevator) to the second floor. When you walk in the space is huge, with nice comfortable couches, multiple bays and great AC for those really hot days when it's not ideal to play outside. They also have karaoke in the private bay which is a lot of fun. The owners are super nice and welcoming and most importantly they love the sport. It's really nice to have this option between dining and shopping to do an activity. It's family friendly and even if you have never picked up a club in your life you will definitely learn something new on your first visit. If you're a pro and want to up your game, they also have a tech that shows how you're hitting the ball so you can improve your swing.
