The café is great - good service and a pleasant atmosphere. The driving range gets 4 out of 5 because it doesn't have a cover. There are a lot of golf holes/courses - definitely 5 out of 5. However, the fairway quality isn't always the best - I'd give it 3 out of 5.

Fairway condition (08-2025) also check the sprinkles going off on the left during the round.

For the price of golf, I'd recommend going elsewhere. Horrible conditions, hit the fairway and be punished with a trash lie or sprinklers going off during the round. The prices increased due to their fancy golf cart upgrades but that money should have been spent on the course maintenance.

    good food

Great place, Was worried from reviews about pace of play but not many people when we went. Went on a Monday course #2. Course in decent shape, greens are good rolling pretty quick. Some fun holes out there. Hit the happy hour after, food was solid for a good price. Will be back!!

On July 5th, I played a round of golf here. I was unaware that the course had been used as a parking lot for the 4th of July fireworks celebration. Despite having an early tee time, the course should have been closed for cleanup. Cleanup crews were scattered throughout the golf course, attempting to clear the debris from the previous night's festivities, with little concern for their safety. They were at times in the direct line of play, which was concerning. The course was left with tire marks and trash from the event. I was surprised that they were still charging holiday rates, rather than the usual rates. Typically, this course is great for early tee times, and I would suggest that they allow ample time and space for cleaning crews to clear up after events such as football games or concerts.

Just one of the many cow pasture fairways.

This is what happens when you take a 4 star course then park cars on it for a couple months. Every so often letting people play golf while it's a 2 star course, and still charging the full price.

Simple bar 4 starts for happy hour prices. Good cocktails. I was impressed! Stopped by after walking 3.5 miles around the Rose Bowl.

    Beautiful clear morning

I just attended the First Tee of Pasadena at Brookside Golf Club, and was very impressed. First off the course looked beautiful, with several guests commenting on how pure their putts were rolling. The staff was attentive and super helpful, treating us like VIPs. They had In and Out burgers supporting the event which was a big hit too. What a great day of golf for a good cause, right next to the iconic Rose Bowl.

This is a very busy golf course in the 626 area. Compare to other courses, Brookside is a pretty long and challenging course that requires good course management skills. Even par for the ladies is 75. The lady at the starter was very friendly and nice that she gave me some pointers of this course as this was my first time playing here. Unfortunately, I played here on a rainy day, and it was freezing. I would love to come by on a good day, and play again. Plenty of parkings are available, but it could be far from the club house. Carrying your golf bag on a hot summer day might be an issue.

This is tee #10 on the CWK course.

Parking can get full pretty quickly. Thankfully we opted for carts with our tee time, so we did not have to walk a bunch. Due to the rainy weather, we were told to drive on the cart path which we understood, but at some holes it was difficult to see a clear pathway. Our time at the golf course was fine until Hole 11, where a Guardian Community tent was set up... The dude that was there introduced himself and asked if we were interested in donating, in which we kindly declined. Bad idea. He then goes on and on, persistently asking us why and even called one of us so serious. I've never experienced someone being so pushy for donations. As someone who doesn't play golf regularly, I would honestly skip Hole 11 completely, just to avoid another rude interaction with someone from Guardian Community. The whole situation just left a sour taste in my mouth. Like seriously, you're going to call us names for kindly declining a donation. What happened to respecting our time and being professional, dude was talking while people are trying to putt. Hmmm... I did like the range for the TopTracer, but now I am reconsidering coming back.

Every time I come in for a lesson, it is jam packed with information and practice time. He really focuses on the lesson and your improvement. I feel very comfortable asking him questions (even if they feel silly) and he'll kindly answer and help me understand. I really have nothing negative to say. Beyond that, he's consistently positive and encouraging--especially when I get frustrated. He's quick to remind me to have fun and enjoy the process, which has helped me stay motivated. Every session is well-structured, and he always follows up with drills and a practice plan so I know exactly what to work on between lessons. I can only speak to the actual golf experience here which is what my review will entail. All the trappings you need for a golf course is there. There is grass where there needs to be and the essentials are well kept. Yes there are gopher holes littered throughout the fairway but then again I hack away at grass that can serve as a respite for other animals so...it's all fair. You get golfers from all levels and I often see The First Tee there using the putting areas or some of the holes to teach young ones the game. I'm all for that. Pace of play could be an issue as I can see some folks wanting to get 9 holes in relatively quickly and thats why they come here. If that's you, things might get a little tough here depending on who you run in to. Lastly, big shout out to holes 1-3 as some of the most fun holes to start a course in the area. It's been a minute since I've come to play here and maybe things have changed a bit but for what it's worth, this is a great place to come for super twilight, watching the sunset against the backdrop of the San Gabriel Foothills.

The tee boxes and rough were less than acceptable. Beat up and let go is an understatement. I brought my own pushcart and on a hot day it would be too much to walk. I avoided the cart fee because of all the negative reviews about them prior. For $22.75 during the week for 9 holes, minus the cart fee, it's steep (for what you get). Based on the conditions I'd suggest $15 to walk and $25 including a cart on the weekdays. It is tucked away off a major street and it has potential, but considering it would be $45 for 18 holes this course is not worth the return. Golf is at an all-time high and Eaton Canyon can do better.

And do check out their membership if you're local; for $50/month you get half price on tee times, a free drink every time you come, and a key fob for a free bucket of range balls every day! And while I'm on the topic of the range, they have TrakMans on every lane of the driving range. So you can evaluate your swing, range your clubs, even play a virtual game against yourself! Why only 4 stars. Well, disappointingly, Scholl Canyon jumped on the woke bandwagon recently with a day of golf celebrating "fathers of color." Come on. If you're a dad, you deserve to be celebrated, regardless of anything else. Dads are dads, and golf is for everyone. Let's celebrate that. UPDATE: Although I love and still advocate for the membership here, two things recently soured the pot for me. First, although they advertise $8 tee times for members on weekdays after 1200, I've had to fight for this on more than one occasion and remind them of their policy. In response, they've changed it to after 1:00. Also, despite their ads offering 10% off all merchandise in the pro shop, they only apply the discount to Scholl Canyon branded items. You pay full price on everything else. Sneaky. Sorry but you lose a star Scholl Canyon.
