What's unique about this small little park is that it's a Community P-Patch Garden and Demonstration Garden. From my research I've found that it started in 2009 and has grown significantly over the last four years. The garden program is a partnership between WSU Extension Master Gardener Program and the City of Bremerton Parks & Recreation Department. The Land was known as White's Blueberry Farm, a commercial enterprise that harvested blueberry plants. I've heard that a small number of the original blueberry plants remain and can be found in the NW corner of today's Blueberry Park. This place seems like a great place for new gardeners just starting out, or for seasoned gardeners looking to share their knowledge with others. They even donate most of the produce to the Bremerton Food Line. It's worth a stop just to relax a bit and check out gardens that other folks have been working on.

Its great for a quick walk exercise, .7 miles per completed loop. It is "dogs welcome" though signage posted next to the rest-room building alerts that they must remain on a leash & to "pick up after your pet" both as required by city law, fines apply - just about everyone participates at least in the "controlled by a leash" part no matter the size and temperament of the pet at the moment! Don't know about the other. Information about the city off leash Bark Park at Pendergast is included on the sign (there is a off leash dog park in Silverdale too). Both are about 7 miles way from the park. Nice view of the Narrows, Mt Rainier & the Olympics to enjoy while there.

Beautiful colored skies, nice lighting, and no distractions whatsoever. Mother Nature was good to us that day. We definitely took our time with our shots and made the most of the evening. Other than that, the park is great for walk/jogs and just a nice peaceful area to be at with the waters right next to it. There is also a baseball field, tennis courts and a basketball court, but it was closed during the pandemic. They even unscrewed the basketball hoops off the courts. Just a great stress reliever at this park. :)

It was so easy to call and reserve in advance, and you can get a reasonable price on a wide variety of bikes. They have a fairly large fleet, but tend to get busy on the weekends. If it's a smaller group, you can probably just get a day-of rental. We got an e-bike with both the throttle and pedal assist, and it really helped to tackle some of the big hills on the island. It was easy to adjust and the battery life is no joke. The rentals also came with helmets and locks, which were great when we stopped for lunch. It's located a stone's throw from the ferry terminal, and I explored the north side of the island in ~2 hours -- my only regret is not getting a longer time frame. I'll definitely be back!

Ended up renting an e-bike here. The staff was exceptionally helpful, drawing out directions on a…read moremap of the island, asking what we were looking to experience, and tailoring recommendations to that. Definitely a bit of a learning curve that no amount of good service can get you over, you just kind of have to ride and figure it out for yourself. Location right next to the ferry is unbeatable if you're coming in from Seattle. Had a really fun time on the island that I may not have had otherwise. Definitely felt I got my money's worth.

If you arrive early, there's also street parking close to the gazebo, which looked like a popular spot for family gatherings and small get-togethers. I spent some time walking along the waterfront paths and exploring the docks and pier. If you're not a fan of heights or being over the water, parts of the dock might feel a little intimidating. The boards are older and somewhat uneven in places, but everything felt sturdy, safe, and added to the rustic charm of the park. The weathered wood and waterfront views make for a great aesthetic, especially if you enjoy photography. Another nice feature is the local businesses nearby. Whether you're looking to grab a beer, a coffee, or something to eat, everything is within a short walking distance. If you're visiting Silverdale and want a relaxing place to take photos, have a picnic, enjoy a family outing, or simply take a peaceful walk by the water, this park is definitely worth a stop. Came here to do some afternoon reading by the lake…read more I really like this park because of the beach access and a boardwalk that jets out into the lake. There are ample tables for picnics, but only one bench for looking out over the lake. I took up a good portion of it so I could get comfortable reading- it was nice! There is a boat landing dock at the end of the boardwalk for those who want to take a break from their boating adventures. Other portions of the park have walking trails through trees, and there are lovely camping spots too.
