My husband and I visited in Bremerton and we decided to go to the around Some parks so our favorite park is Lions Park it's peaceful and nice place so for kids a lot of fun!

I love this park. It has everything for everyone. There's an asphalt track that encircles the entire park and is just under one mile in distance. There are tennis courts, a basketball court, two softball fields, a zip - line for kids, beautiful orca sculptures, etc. My six year old loves the sand pit which includes dinosaur skeletons buried just under the surface. Lions park gets very busy in the summer but it is large enough that it never feels crowded.

Probably the most versatile park in the area. Tennis courts, ball fields, small play area, waterfront, grass to picnic on, a few picnic tables, approx. 3/4 mi asphalt track. Good amount of parking in two separate lots. Fun place to spend a sunny day.

Beautiful park. There are fields for sports. Coveted picnic areas and bathrooms. Also a play area with fun ocean sculptures to climb and slide and a boat... Very fitting for the area.

Love the walking trail! It's a great quiet place to take the kids for our morning stroll to wind down for nap time :)

A Seattle Gem with Breathtaking Views!…read more Discovery Park is hands down one of the most beautiful spots in Seattle. My husband grew up in Magnolia, so he took me here for a hike last weekend, and I was completely blown away. We explored the south side and walked the Loop Trail. The path is well-maintained and offers stunning panoramic views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It's hard to believe you're still within the city limits! It's the largest park in the city, so there is plenty of space to enjoy nature. Whether you want a serious hike or just a peaceful stroll to see the water, this is the place to go. Don't forget your camera--the scenery is post-card perfect!

From an urban park perspective, the only other experience that comes close for me is when I moved to the Old Town Manchester neighborhood in Richmond, Virginia, and had Belle Isle in my backyard, which offers access to hiking, large flat rocks for sunbathing, and whitewater rafting on Class II, III, and IV rapids on the James River right in the middle of downtown. Okay, back to Discovery Park. I spent an entire day exploring the park. I started by ordering a carryout lunch at Damoori Kitchen, which is now closed according to Yelp. I then walked to Discovery Park and hiked the 4.4-mile Discovery Park and Lighthouse Loop. A map for that trail can be accessed using a trail app. The loop trail took me through several ecosystems such as coastal meadows, tidal beaches, forest groves, sand dunes, and vast stretches of thickets with wild berries. Once I finished hiking the loop, I walked back to Damoori Kitchen and caught a rideshare back to downtown Seattle. Highlights from my Discovery Park adventure included eating lunch at the tidal beach, exploring sea cliffs, seeing jaw-dropping views of Mount Rainier, hiking past the West Point Lighthouse, and experiencing the sights, sounds, flora, and fauna of the park's majestic landscape.

Cute little park area near the Bremerton ferry terminal and downtown. I had some time to explore…read morenear my hotel and the Harborside Fountain Park was an easy walk. The same designers for the famous Fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas designed this park. They built interpretations of an armada of battleships - 6 fountains spaced out. And at choreagraphed times, each fountain explodes with bursts of water from the top, one at a time, which is also symbolic of the volcanic activity in the area (think of Mount St. Helens and Mount Rainier/Tahoma as they are active volcanoes). It was a hot, summer weekday when I visited and there were some families with their kids enjoying the water in the fountains. It's a nice way to spend an summer afternoon by the water. There are tables and chairs so you can easily have a picnic while there.

The Harborside Fountain Park seems more like an ornately gardened playground very nicely designed,…read moreattractive artifice, but very little that is "natural." To an extent it is over-designed. But it's comfy, wheelchairable, great view of Sinclair Inlet. The best harborside fountain isn't here, though. It's on the big staircase alongside the harborside Conference Center, thin jets of water shooting all the way along the stairs in watery emulation of leaping salmon. Downtown Bremerton is one big embarrassing dead zone sad to see failing year after year, with no chance of restoration until the parking problem is fixed. Currently it's easy parking if you're getting on the ferry, or if you're in a police car, otherwise a nightmare. But if the entire downtown was as nice as that small area around the ferry with the boardwalk, conference center, and harborside fountain park, then Bremerton would be a northwest gem. Maybe someday. But never if it remains so unfriendly to arrival by automobile, and so eager to give parking tickets to everyone as one of the failed city's chief means of income.
