Evergreen Park is tucked amidst an attractive residential district.

This is a small, well groomed, very non-wild and practically inner-city park with water access and boat ramp, good view, a nearby ice cream parlor, and a small cafe. Excellent place for a picnic or event. Though claiming itself good for hiking trails, it has no surrounding woods (it's surrounded by pleasant if dense housing), so basically the "trail" is the paved walkway through the lawn to the parking lot. It also brags about a "9/11 monument" honoring victims. It's a piece of the twin towers, not very big, mounted in a very homely manner. When those towers were being shipped everywhere for just this purpose, someone must have said, "Screw Bremerton, they don't deserve a better piece than this." It's sad more for its appearance than for what it memorializes! But those are minor negatives. It's a nice little park with a few largish trees shading some native evergreen shrubs and well-mowed lawns plus a beach of big rocks. People walk their dogs on leashes there. There are occasional events staged in this park. It's pretty nice really.

This playground is great for all ages :)

Open space, clean, an awesome playground for kids of all ages, a lot of benches and covered picnic tables, and it is right on the shore! They also have a farmers market on Thursdays, 4 to 7pm. I haven't been to it yet, but I will update when I do! My kids can easily spend hours here without getting bored. Because, you know kids these days - they always need to feel entertained.

BRING UNSALTED PEANUTS IN THE SHELL. Squirrels will take them right out of your hand. A really nice park... the best. Clean and well kept, play areas, boat launch, volleyball and horseshoe pits. And don't miss the General Store right across the street... it's a treat too.

Nicest park in the area. New playground for he kiddos complete with slides, climbing nets, see-saw, and various other toys. My girls ages 5 and 7 have so much fun here! Lots of grass, near the water, decent amount of parking, cute little general store right across the street where you can grab ice-cream. I wish there were more parks like this.

Beautiful green picnic area, there's also a gorgeous view of the water where you can take your boat right off the bridge.

Love this park, new and modern. It's right by the water, has shade, trees, and a ice cream shop across the street.

Its great for a quick walk exercise, .7 miles per completed loop. It is "dogs welcome" though signage posted next to the rest-room building alerts that they must remain on a leash & to "pick up after your pet" both as required by city law, fines apply - just about everyone participates at least in the "controlled by a leash" part no matter the size and temperament of the pet at the moment! Don't know about the other. Information about the city off leash Bark Park at Pendergast is included on the sign (there is a off leash dog park in Silverdale too). Both are about 7 miles way from the park. Nice view of the Narrows, Mt Rainier & the Olympics to enjoy while there.

Beautiful colored skies, nice lighting, and no distractions whatsoever. Mother Nature was good to us that day. We definitely took our time with our shots and made the most of the evening. Other than that, the park is great for walk/jogs and just a nice peaceful area to be at with the waters right next to it. There is also a baseball field, tennis courts and a basketball court, but it was closed during the pandemic. They even unscrewed the basketball hoops off the courts. Just a great stress reliever at this park. :)

A Seattle Gem with Breathtaking Views!…read more Discovery Park is hands down one of the most beautiful spots in Seattle. My husband grew up in Magnolia, so he took me here for a hike last weekend, and I was completely blown away. We explored the south side and walked the Loop Trail. The path is well-maintained and offers stunning panoramic views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It's hard to believe you're still within the city limits! It's the largest park in the city, so there is plenty of space to enjoy nature. Whether you want a serious hike or just a peaceful stroll to see the water, this is the place to go. Don't forget your camera--the scenery is post-card perfect!

From an urban park perspective, the only other experience that comes close for me is when I moved to the Old Town Manchester neighborhood in Richmond, Virginia, and had Belle Isle in my backyard, which offers access to hiking, large flat rocks for sunbathing, and whitewater rafting on Class II, III, and IV rapids on the James River right in the middle of downtown. Okay, back to Discovery Park. I spent an entire day exploring the park. I started by ordering a carryout lunch at Damoori Kitchen, which is now closed according to Yelp. I then walked to Discovery Park and hiked the 4.4-mile Discovery Park and Lighthouse Loop. A map for that trail can be accessed using a trail app. The loop trail took me through several ecosystems such as coastal meadows, tidal beaches, forest groves, sand dunes, and vast stretches of thickets with wild berries. Once I finished hiking the loop, I walked back to Damoori Kitchen and caught a rideshare back to downtown Seattle. Highlights from my Discovery Park adventure included eating lunch at the tidal beach, exploring sea cliffs, seeing jaw-dropping views of Mount Rainier, hiking past the West Point Lighthouse, and experiencing the sights, sounds, flora, and fauna of the park's majestic landscape.

The same designers for the famous Fountains at the Bellagio in Las Vegas designed this park. They built interpretations of an armada of battleships - 6 fountains spaced out. And at choreagraphed times, each fountain explodes with bursts of water from the top, one at a time, which is also symbolic of the volcanic activity in the area (think of Mount St. Helens and Mount Rainier/Tahoma as they are active volcanoes). It was a hot, summer weekday when I visited and there were some families with their kids enjoying the water in the fountains. It's a nice way to spend an summer afternoon by the water. There are tables and chairs so you can easily have a picnic while there.

The Harborside Fountain Park seems more like an ornately gardened playground very nicely designed,…read moreattractive artifice, but very little that is "natural." To an extent it is over-designed. But it's comfy, wheelchairable, great view of Sinclair Inlet. The best harborside fountain isn't here, though. It's on the big staircase alongside the harborside Conference Center, thin jets of water shooting all the way along the stairs in watery emulation of leaping salmon. Downtown Bremerton is one big embarrassing dead zone sad to see failing year after year, with no chance of restoration until the parking problem is fixed. Currently it's easy parking if you're getting on the ferry, or if you're in a police car, otherwise a nightmare. But if the entire downtown was as nice as that small area around the ferry with the boardwalk, conference center, and harborside fountain park, then Bremerton would be a northwest gem. Maybe someday. But never if it remains so unfriendly to arrival by automobile, and so eager to give parking tickets to everyone as one of the failed city's chief means of income.
