The two movers that came were professional and moved quickly, and the whole thing was done within a couple of hours. There was some confusion about the deposit, which I thought would be applied to the final bill, but was actually a separate charge. This was explained to me before the work started, and since I'd budgeted to spend more than the initial estimate, it wasn't a big problem for me. Just be aware if you're booking that this is part of their process. Ultimately, I felt like the money I spent was worth it because it saved me a lot of time and stress, and that was my priority. I'd definitely use them again. Update: I actually did use them again, two years later. Happy to report that my experience was just as positive the second time. Okay, no worries, issues happen. They never contacted me to let me know that this had happened, I called them to confirm that we were still good for the appointment day and time. Just as a courtesy I asked how come they didn't let me know that there is a chance that they would not be able to keep their appointment the man on the phone told me word for word "Okay, B****, find another moving company." Obviously their customer service is absolutely terrible and they don't enjoy keeping happy customers. They would rather swear at their customers when they had an error and rather than take the extra step to correct the situation or at least give a heads up that the appointment couldn't be kept.

We cannot recommend Cactus enough. They are very responsive, clear, helpful, courteous communicators; they accurately estimated the time and "manpower" that would be needed; their rates are competitive; they were on time; nothing was damaged; they were willing to "problem solve" on site to successfully move a heavy, tricky item; and they were willing to do an additional move of a separate large item at a moment's notice. Sweet touches like offer of coffee for an early morning move and a gift of a little cactus plant underscore the care this local business takes in providing attentive, thoughtful service. 5+ stars!

We appreciated being able to use the moving boxes they provided as we felt they were solid and safe enough for our belongings. We have a large collection of vinyl records, which is very heavy to move. The movers were very good about it and quite careful with them. There was one small accident with one box, but nothing was damaged. We also had some nice conversations while the move was happening. The guys worked hard, from 9 am to 3, and did a great job protecting our stuff including antiques. We were very happy with how it all turned out! At the end of the move, the reusable bins were picked up which was nice, as we didn't need to store them or add to our big pile of post-move recycling.

The 3 man moving crew only had one experienced mover and other two appeared like it was their first time moving, Crew didn't place boxes in proper rooms despite being told specifically by me and also boxes clearly marked resulting in me having to move almost a 1/3 of the boxes up and down 3 flights by myself.
