packers packed me Thursday and left. watched TV the rest of the day as TV did not get boxed that day. Saturday movers came and tv was fine when I left my Calgary place headed to my new home a few hours away. movers unpacked the TV and put legs back on. nobody else was in the room at the time. TV was turned on a few hours later to a huge crack in the screen. This crack couldn't be seen with the tv off. Emailed the company and they asked how I'd not know until a week after they moved me. packed on the 21st moved on 23rd is not a week. told the company I expect a replacement to which they're arguing it wasn't them who wrecked the TV. I used this company to help move my mom from a house to an apartment. I was impressed with their communication and care. Not only did they do the move, but they also came back the next day and we used them to recycle/donate/throw away, things that were left. The price of everything was less than some companies call just to move. The two men that came were polite and efficient. They made the whole move less stressful for all of us. read more

I was helping a senior move out of her apartment, and I can't say enough about how well this company treated her. She is moving into assisted living, and when the movers arrived at her home she found it very emotionally difficult to decide what she would keep or discard. It eventually became obvious that she couldn't make these decisions, and she asked that the move be cancelled. We called the manager on the phone and, knowing the drivers had likely wasted at least two hours or more, we were expecting a fairly heft penalty. He was very kind and understanding, however. He acknowledged how difficult it is to let go of one's belongings and only charged her a nominal fee for cancelling the move. The mover himself was likewise very empathic and kind, also acknowledging the loss she was going through and reassuring her that he understood. The senior was very sad and regretful for being so indecisive, and I believe it was the company's kindness that helped her cope with these emotions. I'll be recommending Fiver Star Seniors to anyone who is planning to move. read more

2 gentlemen just moved my mom, within the same retirement residence. They moved all of her belongings AND put every little thing up EXACTLY the same as it was in her previous room (except for pictures - which makes sense). If that wasn't enough, they were very professional and very sensitive to the situation (i.e. a senior moving). Cost and time was as quoted, and they hadn't even seen her room. Set up the TV too! I'm told that they don't just do moves within a retirement residence, but to a retirement residence AND will help deliver items that you may want to donate! I used this company years ago for my elderly parents move. Hopefully they have improved their business ethic. They took my Grandfathers antique clock to be appraised, never to be returned or submitted with an appraisal. They presented us with a small cash payout, they insisted it was not worth repairing. Do you think that would be our decision. They damaged a silverware chest that was a wedding gift to my parents in 1950 and took it to be repaired. Again never to be seen again. They made a cash payout once again, the excuse this time was they did not know where their employee had taken it to be repaired, and he had since been fired. Red Flags anyone. Just finished driving beside a Five Star cube truck (in Calgary) and to keep up to him I had to drive 90km/hr on Memorial Drive (which has a posted 70km speed limit). As I pulled up beside the vehicle at a red light (just above Deerfoot Trail, by the zoo), I looked over and saw the gentleman with his cell phone up to his face. What makes this even more disheartening, in today's world of business. So I called on my Bluetooth the number on the van and left a message for a "Jason", with my name and phone number. I arrived back at work and Jason had returned my call. Well, as the Manager of 5 Star Seniors Relocators, I explained to Jason that the vehicle which I briefly caught up to was doing 90km on a 70km road, his 1st response was, "The vehicle was empty". He then defended the driver, by saying, that he was only doing 82km. How he knew that....... Jason was in the vehicle with the driver....OMG Jason became very argumentative with me yelling at me that his driver was ONLY doing 82km in a 70km (on Memorial Drive). I did respond with 90km, which is exactly what his driver was travelling at. I then asked him why his driver was on his cell phone while in a running vehicle and possibly even while driving. I expressed to him that with him being a manager, that doesn't seem to be the best scenario for the employees having him as a manger and allowing them to break the law, with him beside them. Jason abruptly hung up the phone on me. So as a consumer, who has grand parents and many of my friends have grand parents in senior's facilities, I would strongly suggest going with a different moving company. If you have used them before and something got broken, its because they drive TOO fast and don't support defensive driving techniques. As well, if you have complained and dealt with Jason, which turned out to be a negative experience, don't worry because ignorance is probably his only trait and as a business owner, I would have never hired a person of such poor business manners and extremely poor ethics. Five Star Seniors Relocators is a terrible company to deal with, simply because they employ Jason and are extremely poor decision makers when it comes to hiring/training drivers (which is the only way to transport any seniors precious belongings), in a city of 1.4 million potential customers. read more

Poor quality, not professional, not responsive and not on time. Five Star Seniors' Relocators Inc. did not provide the "stress-free moving for senior's" experience they advertised. Due to the actions of Five Star Seniors' Inc., it was an extremely stressful and hectic move for my family. All requested pre-move information was provided by the family to the moving company well in advance of the move. Partially due to covid-19 protocols, it was important to our family and to the seniors' residence that my parents were moving into, that the moving company honour their promised timeline. Five Star Seniors' Relocators, Inc. took two days to complete the moving process instead of their promised one day causing numerous significant negative issues for our family. In addition, items were damaged and broken during Five Star Seniors' Relocator's moving and unpacking process that they did not take accountability or responsibility for. I waited for them at the prearranged times for pick up and drop off and both times they did not show and i had to reschedule. This company is superb! In the past two years I have had to use Five Star three times, as my mother's world had to get smaller and smaller. First, they helped move and downsize her from her spacious two-bedroom condo apartment to an independent suite in a senior's residence. Then we had them move her to an even smaller room in the memory ward of the same building. Finally, we had to move out what belongings she had left, as my mother passed this May. None of these moves were easy ones. However, in all three moves, this company was very easy to deal with, highly professional and extremely patient. They were kind to my mother, as well as helpful to my brother and I, and were very careful with her things. They were on time all three moves; they worked hard and efficiently. They not only moved my mother's belongings to each of her new residences, but also took some of her treasured possessions to my home. At our instruction they also took some stuff to be recycled, and the rest to the dump. The clean-up we requested of the condo apartment was also done to a high standard. And, to top it all off, they were very reasonable and what they quoted was what was invoiced. I had heard horror stories about movers, but I could not be more pleased with Five Stars' service.
