First of all I would like to thank your company and specially Nicole from Calgary office. She provided all the assistance that I was looking for before, during and even after the shipment was done. She was great asset to the company and I wish her best in her career and would like to convey my special thanks. Then came all the nice people in between. Again from Robert (Calgary) to Santos (Toronto) everyone was so helpful. The quote was being changed few times as my stuff weight was changing every other week. The last estimate was almost correct and I did not have any problem paying. All the stuff arrived and unloaded at both locations without any problems. Nothing broken or damaged whatever boxed we have opened so far and we have almost opened 1/2 of the total boxes. I am sure everything will be fine when we open rest of the boxes. I am not sure what to say more about my excellent experience as it will always be less than what we experienced when talking to real people. These guys were so efficient and cordial. I had a team of 3, Ray, Brad and Rob. These guys have a system that works. I hired them to move my bigger furniture to storage. They were in and out in 2 hours. Pretty unimpressed with their customer service. Emails were short, rude, and overall not very helpful. They couldn't give me an exact move date despite attempting to book over a month in advance. Moving into a condo involves booking elevators in advance, so having a move-in day is vital. I asked for a more specific range of dates and received no further email response from Jay Engel. Found another mover easily who could give me an exact date and time. I suggest you do the same!!! I'd rate zero stars if I could. read more

Pricing was competitive but as soon as the movers showed up the wheels fell off and I'd wished I'd paid more for someone better. They didn't load on priority after I clearly stated I only wanted to take a 20' container. They waited until the end of the day to tell me that they, "figured it wouldn't all fit from the time they'd arrived but not to worry, we'll just put it in another container. You're not paying for it." I'm not sure how they came to make the bold assumption that I wasn't paying for my own move? No chance of repacking the container, it was 15:30 and they were out of there! Miller Time, yay. No big deal I thought. We can go to the yard in the morning and help them repack it to fit the few key items that didn't fit. Nope, coordinator took three days to return my call and then the container was on it's way to the dock. An extra $3800 and 6 months later... the rest of our BED finally arrives along with other obscure bits that were essential parts to half built furniture. The $80.00 bill from Australia quarantine was a nice kicker after the mover told me to put down the garden hose and don't worry about the little bit of dirt on my bike tire which was previously overlooked. Two stars because there was no major damage to anything except my wall. read more

Over the last four years I have contracted company "Highland Moving and Storage" to provide me with a one time move to their location as well storage. During the first 4 years it was pleasant and the billing was done quite handidly. Once I moved to Norway and changed credit cards and employers the problems started. There was a declined charge on my credit card because I canceled it. I promptly sent them new information. The billing cycle for my monthly storage was than charged again to which I sent in an email my new credit card information. In the past this was no big deal, I simply sent them a new one and the billing was again resumed monthly with little to no hassle. I sent them my new credit card via email and it was not received or acknowledged by Highland Moving and Storage. They cannot be trusted with private information and can't recieve emails. I've sent them multiple requests for information which were completely ignored, one important request was for their internal communications in how they get and process a client's information. I have also requested a client satisfaction survey which was redirected towards and email correspondence. Having looked back at all my correspondence and the increase in the monthly charge from 141.00CND to 197.00CND it appears that they have a really good front end for dealing with a client to get them in the door and they then use the bonded and insured trade tactic as a paywall and once you have your goods in their possession you become lambasted. I talked with the CEO and it was pleasant for the first three minutes than he asked how we can resolve the problem. The extra costs inferred due to their negligence is over 1000 dollars. I told him that I would like to prorate the services to the day I tried to give them my credit card information and his mood did an extreme 180 and he began to berate me and threaten to sell my things. read more

These are not the most expensive movers but not the least either. Pay the bill to get a great team that are actually willing to work with and for you. We did have most of our things wrapped and ready to go which was very appreciated by the guys but they went hard all day from start to finish. They were very good with all of our items and both of our houses to ensure nothing was damaged or dirty. It was a really hot day and they showed up on time, worked really hard through the whole move out/in and made sure we were happy through the entire day. Pay the money and make sure your most valuable possessions are taken care of by people who really do care. The office was great too, always very clear and explained what I was and was not getting. No surprises for billing and a great day even though it was moving day. read more

From start to finish (Daisy, Melanie and the movers themselves (Terry, Cory, Justin)), everyone was very helpful to me. I haven't moved in 15 years and have never used a moving company. Everyone was very understanding about what might have been "silly" questions. The movers even arrived a bit early and it all went much faster than I'd expected. Horrible, horrible experience. I wish I'd read reviews, they have a history of smashing furniture. They didn't use straps and smashed our $4000 piano, and now they're only offering $130. They charged us $500 to move a couple of mattresses and smash our piano. Stay away. read more

They showed up on time for the move, which is the only good thing I can say about this company. Moving our stuff from a two bedroom/third floor apartment proved to be too much, for two movers, especially for the elderly guy, which talked and took more rest breaks than he worked. I felt bad that he wasn't physically able to do the job and helped a bit myself. Later I thought WTF, as I also paid for an unscheduled 30 min break for this guys in the AM, with their loafing around/talking more than they worked, plus I had to help. The move took along time for nominal amount of stuff, as you might imagine...like they intentionally bled it out, to make more $$. Incidentally, when our furniture arrived at the other end some of it was damaged, surprise, surprise, I thought. I let most of it slide, being generally a nice guy, but our couch had a huge tear in it, which I had to put a claim in for. To get the additional insurance I paid $80, and was told the damaged couch would be replaced at fair market value by the claim person Candy. In any event, when we did put in the claim she argued tooth and nail with me about it, refusing to replace it, and choosing some hack company in Airdrie to patch it up. These contractors further disturbed us by taking the couch offsite not once, but twice for the repair; not to mention the time I had to take off work to accommodate them. On top of it they charged us another $100 for a deductible on the repair (alot of moving companys' will straight up replace damaged items free of charge, and without the BS, come to find out). Truth be told, it appears they made money on the claim, as the repair was obviously cheaply done. Even if their rate is appealing, you will pay more at the end of the day, without question. With these movers, their ripping off, dog f'n, and the companys' underhandedness; you'd be a fool to choose 'Highland Movers'. read more

The move was done without breaking anything or causing any damage. All of the staff were friendly and had a customer service attitude. Overall it was a great experience. I just moved across Calgary from a 2 bedroom condo to a house. We had Justin and Brian help us move. We were supposed to have 3 movers come but the third person didn't show up. They adjusted our cost to compensate for the third gentleman not being there. They were great movers, really careful with our belongings. They accidentally forgot our two lamps on the truck that were wrapped in a blanket so the following day they came and dropped it off at our house at a time that was convenient to us. I would definitely recommend Highland to people and will likely hire them in the future. Only two wine glasses broke and it was our fault because we didn't pack that box very well. read more
