Nice new park in the south area of town. Less than a mile from the Gaylord Pacific Hotel is Sweetwater Park. Lots of plants, nature, views of the bay, a playground, and a walkway that spans 2 miles. Bikers and walkers were spread out on a Saturday morning I was here. Great addition to the south region and its community.

We enjoyed the new Chula Vista Sweetwater Park next to the new Gaylord Hotel opening in May of 2025. The park was really nice we enjoyed the views of the bay and walking trails there's plenty of parking. You can bring your bikes and strollers. There's a kids playground, picnic tables and public bathroom. Address: 845 E Street, Chula Vista, CA next to RV park. Check it out! Happy Yelping :)

Beautiful park to walk and see the sunset. Near the new Gaylord resort the walk path is new and has beautiful views of downtown, the Coronado bridge, and Coronado across the way. This path also connects with J st park so there's definitely ways to make your walk longer. The only thing is you do need to walk towards the restrooms by J st park there was none closer to the newly remodeled area.

Wow!! An AWESOME new park in CV! Plenty of parking, walking trails, brand new playground structures, spaced out for kids to run around and not be stepping on each others toes. The developers did leave room for upgrades in between the equipment too. The Brand new style bathrooms with outside sinks are great. Some more benches would be awesome for picnics. Definitely one of the nicest in SD!!

I was curious to see what they did at the end of E St. after all the construction for years. I wondered what happened to the RV park at J St. Marina...it seems they moved it here by the new park and it's a resort park or something fancy like that. It is super easy to access the park and trails, there is plenty of parking, and you can even visit the Living Coast Nature Center right next door. I think they did a good job with this new park, they had a security guy hanging around to make you feel safe, there are bathrooms, and plenty of benches and tables, although not a lot of shade, as the trees are still babies. The playground seems just right for little ones under 10. The view of the bay is beautiful, and I look forward to seeing the trees mature and native plants fill in. You can't miss the view of the Gaylord Hotel as well. I walked a good part of the trail that is supposedly a little over 2 miles. I had to turn around at a less populated area when I spotted a man up ahead either urinating in public or something else. I didn't want to find out so I jogged the opposite way back post haste. Other than that incident, I had a quite peaceful morning, and I will be back (with frIends and/or pepper spray in my pocket, just in case).

First time coming to this park and it's very nice. Great for bringing the kids and dog walking. They have dirt paths that you can follow and see nature. Love it here. Edit: Came here to walk the dog at night, they should add some lights, that's my only concern.

Killer playground for the kids. Although not enough benches close by to monitor them. Trails lead to bayside park nice for walking riding or passing by the new Gaylord property. Over all there is definitely some bones to build on

A few picnic tables have shade.

We visited the Port of San Diego's brand new park next to the Gaylord Pacific Resort and Convention Center. Not all the fences were open yet but it was a nice leisurely scenic walk on pavement and trails. We saw a wishbone sculpture and wondered if we will see more art in the future. Free parking, restrooms, playground and picnic tables for small groups available. Leash is required for dogs. No dog park. We are excited to try cycling the bike path next.

Only 2 big kid swings and 2 toddler swings

The space overlooks the water and is the first space you'll see driving up. It's a bit secluded from the rest of the park allowing you to have a more private event with your guests. We ended up having just 40 people attend our baby shower, but with the ample space, it allowed us to fully decorate the space and bring separate tables for desserts and welcome table. The stage space was perfect for the photo backdrop and everything came out so beautifully. Highly recommend this space for any events, even a small outdoor wedding. Check-in was super easy and we were allowed music, decors, and even alcohol on site. Some of us came an hour early to start the decorations and stayed an hour later to clean up, but you can access your space anytime between 9-5:30pm. Everything was perfect. Our event was only 4 hours so it was more than enough time to come early to set up and fully clean up after. Restrooms are super clean, park is well maintained with rangers on-site. Parking is $5 all day and plenty of our things for guests to do such as playground for the kids or the open grass area to run around in or nice hiking trails all around for a quick exploring.

One of the oldest parks in the South Bay. Been coming here for years, there is 2 of them in between…read morethem there's a restaurant. Both parks are good for parties & hangouts & BBQ's. When I was a kid most Easter's & Birthday parties were here. One park has a pier to fish the other has a loading deck for boats. When I was a teenager I came here as well but not for family gatherings but to hang out with friends. And it's a good spot to bring girls late at night & you know....play BINGO in the back seat :) the first park has alot of parking spots for that. Now that I'm a dad & family man I come again for birthday parties & also just to hang with family to grill & see the low riders on weekends. My favorite reason to come tho is to see the Sunsets with my daughters, have a late picnic, listen to music & just watch the sun set, love it. Me & my family's favorite park in the South Bay hands down. Now with the Gaylord Resort next door the park looks better & is extended. We will continue to go & see those sunsets & one day I'll bring my grandkids here too. See you soon J Street Park.

Needless to say they've made some big changes in the last nearly 40 years. Plenty of picnic tables and park benches throughout the area. Some on full sun some shaded. Of course the big feature of this park nice boat launching ramp. On my last visit I saw a squadron of pelicans fly past several times. Each time by the time I got my phone out they were gone. They usually do a good job keeping the grounds and restroom clean.
