A lovely park with a great view of the ocean. The city skyline is in the distance. It can get a bit windy. A pleasant place for a stroll or picnic if your goodies don't fly away. Ample free parking.

View of Bayside Park from RV Park.

Stayed a week at the Chula Vista RV Park, so spent a fair amount of time at Bayside Park. There is a secure entrance to Bayside Park from the RV park, so easy access made it the place to walk my dogs and start my morning runs. There is a nice walkway throughout the park, and it is well used, especially with people walking their dogs. Almost all dogs were leashed, and for the most part, people cleaned up after their pups. There is a small beach, which is good for a short beach walk. There were lots of ducks and seagulls, but despite signs advising people not to feed or chase the wildlife, I saw multiple occasions of both. So sad. There are two restrooms, kid's play equipment, a small exercise section that includes pull up bars, a fishing pier, and an ice cream truck that seemed to visit daily in the afternoons. Also quite a few picnic tables and benches to sit and admire the beautiful views of the Marina, the Bay, the Coronado Bay Bridge, Coronado and San Diego.

Visiting Chula Vista for a few days over the Holidays, I went out in search of some place scenic for morning runs. I came across BaysidePark, as well as its 2 neighboring waterfront parks. My impression of Chula Vista's 3 parks down at the end of J Street & Marina Parkway was something like the Story of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. 1 park was too small (Bayfront Park), 1 park stank of sulfur (Marina View Park) & 1 park was just right. Bayside Park was just right. Tucked away between a trailer park & San Diego Bay, Bayside Park is lovely & full of features. There's a decent amount of parking, winding waterfront paths, 2 restroom facilities, picnic tables, a playground area, art installations, a long pier & nice Bay views throughout. Starting my runs here, heading over to neighboring Bayfront Park & then returning to run around Bayside Park some more was a good way to get me going for the day. Whenever the weather is nice in Chula Vista (when isn't it?), Bayside Park is a great option for some outdoor activity.

This L shaped park rides along the Bay along the Chula Vista Harbor. I was staying at nearby RV Park and was able to spend some time here. Not much to write home about but there is a fishing pier and a kids playset and swings. This park seems to be a good place for holding parties or gatherings. - Place for kids to ride their scooters. - On the pier, overhead casting prohibited signs are ignored so watch out. - 5 out of 10 on the unsafe scale. Did see some people do drugs in the far north part of the park. Many of the groups were blasting rap music with cursing.

This is a breath taking place to visit, it is an awesome place to hang out for a peaceful afternoon stroll or some casual fishing at the pier. There is plenty of places for everyone including furballs. Love this place so much. I am actually looking forward coming back in a near future.

New "beach" area! looks great for kids.

This the perfect place to come for a nice walk the view is awesome on clear days you can see the Coronado Bay Bridge, Downtown SD and part of the Coronado Silver Strand. The park has a two small parking lots you can access from Bayside Parkway using the roundabout. The lots are always full but there is a lot of street parking, I have never had trouble fining parking. There is street parking on Sandpiper Way, Bayside Parkway, G Street, and Quay Avenue. I like parking at the start of Sandpiper Way right in front of the Chula Vista Marina and start my walk there. There are two restrooms one near the playground and the pier the other one is on the west side past the Bayside Parkway roundabout. The pier is small and there is always people fishing. In the middle area there is a workout area with pull-up bars and rigs, I believe there are other work-out stations throughout the park. I've been coming to this park for years, today I noticed they are doing some new landscaping on the west side of the park. It looks like they removed some of the big trees and expanded the "beach" area it is a lot more open and easy to walk down to the water. This is also a nice place to have a family gathering there is always parties here. If you are looking for the same views and peaceful feel but less crowds drive down to Chula Vista Bay Front Park you can also walk through the Chula Vista Marian to the Bay Front Park (I do it all the time to make my walk longer). Overal I love this place!

No filter. No editing. Just beautiful.

I had no idea this baby was hidden away in Chula Vista. The view is gorgeous from here. Now that I know it's here, I will come back. My brother and I bought a couple burritos from Robertos (like back in the day when we were in high school) and went to the park for a picnic. There were plenty of places to sit and did I mention the view? I did, but it is worth mentioning again. Go check it out for yourself.

Love it here! Was here for the Chula Vista Bayfront Celebration this past weekend. Shores are awesome, people in the water, kayaking, boats, great sightseeing too! Park area is very nice. Looking forward to coming back on a non-event weekend to explore further!

Beautiful scenery and lush grass. It has a great view of the bay and lots of picnic tables, and benches to sit at, and a path to walk along the shoreline. Also there is bathroom facilities. Awesome!!

This one uses…read moreturf, which i find has it's benefits on the days after a rainstorm since it doesn't get muddy. There are four big pine trees with separate retaining walls around three of them for owners to sit down. With it being so close to the bay, there's often a nice breeze that goes through the park. There's no divide between small dogs and big dogs, so it's best to just keep an eye on your dog, and many owners around here are usually respectful. The street parking immediately adjacent to the park is free, however, it has a limit of 30 minutes, and the parking meter workers are strict on it if they're around. I bring my dog here around lunch time because those who live/ work in the area tend to bring their dogs during their break time and my dog gets his socialization time. They close 8am-11am MWF for maintenance/ cleaning. Currently, both gates are broken so it's not as secure as it should be, and who knows when the city will actually fix it. There're a few agility structures and a water dispenser. The children's park itself looks pretty cool for kids with a lot of structures with slides and swings. There's also another separate area with fixed exercise equipment that looks well- maintained. The water feature in the park is a water feature, not a pool.

So many other parks are popping up around this area that we could easily go there but this our park. There are basketball courts nearby but good luck trying to get it for actually playing basketball. It seems it's a dance floor where kids bump loud music with profanity when they can clearly see 6 and under kids playing in the playground. There have been times when I asked to turn it down or play kid friendly music and sometimes they oblige but others they just ignore the request and continue to attempt to dance like the Jabawokeez.
