The menu is primarily in Spanish but there are plenty of photos (if you don't speak Spanish). Look out for Vincente, the most awesome waiter (and fluent in English). He will make excellent recommendations. My favorite is the bistec encebollado (a flattened steak with sauteed onions). It comes out perfect!! Have it with the beans and rice and maduro. OMG, perfection! They have a bakery on site and everything is delicious. I love their cheese bread and dulce de leche pastries. This is the hole-in-the-wall restaurant that the connoisseurs go to while the rest of the dummies eat in the mall. My fear is as Allentown is revitalized, restaurants like this will be replaced with high-priced froufrou bistros that don't compare.

The whole street the restaurant is on feels steeped in history and this place was no exception. They have pretty expansive list of plates. I ordered the Desayuno Tipico (beans, eggs with salsa, sausage, curtido, a slice of cheese, and pupusas) and it was amazing! I can see why this place is packed during the lunch rush. The prices were reasonable and the portions large. I was able to experience this place earlier in the morning, so it felt like I had the place to myself. I look forward to trying more from this cuisine when the opportunity presents itself! Thanks for a great experience.
