There were 22 cats on the day we visited. There were no snacks available - which are advertised to be included with the picnic - but we were okay with the sandwiches we brought from home. The space is clean and cozy. It seemed like there were cats in every crack and crevice. The cats seem relaxed and happy. It's been less than a week and already three of them are asking when they can go again.

Their focuses is on scheduling fee based appointments so you can play with the cats. However, this clearly is not a sustainable model. Focusing on providing quality coffee service should be priority one and scheduling play dates with the cats should be secondary. The concept is certainly a hearty one, but whoever approved this business model needs to get their head examined. Basement spent a lot of money on getting the cat lounge looking great in Victorian however, the coffee serving area needs a lot of work. My biggest suggestion is focus on raising your game for your coffee business. Have some pastries that are not stale and you run out of quickly. If you do go here and you want to visit the animals ensure you schedule an appointment online in advance or you cannot go in. This is $20 per person. Very disappointing overall and lucky I gave it three stars. Hopefully they can do better.
