The menu here is exciting, vibrant and you truly can't go wrong with anything you choose. My friend has joined me in multiple occasions and I can say we have tried quite a lot from here and have ever been let down. Bonus points for the seasonal or weekly selects they have - some super yummy creations. While it can get super busy on the weekends and the ambiance can be a lil overstimulating ~ I'm happy to come during the week days when it's a slower and I can pull up a chair at the bar for easy, laid back dining! They also have a designated window for to go order, quick orders or call in orders. This has become my go to! Every staff member is always efficient, kind and professional. I think the service from the staff sticks out the most and the food right after - and on a consistent basis that's just hard to find these days. So hats off to Day Marker they really do make my day lol!

I really love some of the Austin diner spots that have such fun menus (i.e. Phoebe's). The problem with Day Maker is the menu has such interesting choices that I generally wanted almost everything. Went with the Chorizo Benny and I will be back for that for sure! One of my fave breakfast items I've had in Austin (and ive had some good ones!) We also had the enchilada and Churro pancakes. I can't wait to come back and I'd bring friends/fam here for sure that visit.

The hotel grounds and our room were clean and well-maintained, and by the end of the trip, we were already talking about coming back. We only stayed three nights, but all of us wished we could have stayed longer. There is so much to do that it's difficult to fit everything into a short visit. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, with plenty of space to explore and enjoy the outdoors. Our family especially enjoyed the playground, visiting the animals, riding the bicycles, and spending time at the pool. The nightly s'mores were a huge hit and created some great family memories. There are also extensive walking areas and a variety of activities available, including skeet and trap shooting, which add to the resort's unique appeal. The biggest disappointment of our stay was the food. While it was perfectly acceptable, it felt more comparable to chain restaurants like Applebee's or Chili's than to what you might expect at a luxury resort. Unfortunately, the prices were significantly higher. Given the resort's remote location, dining alternatives require leaving the property, which means many guests end up paying the premium prices out of convenience. On the other hand, the hotel bar was excellent. The craft cocktails were well-made, and the local craft beer selection was impressive. The drinks were expensive, but the quality justified the price more than the restaurant food did. Overall, this is a beautiful resort with excellent amenities, friendly staff, and countless activities for families. It is also one of the most expensive resorts in Texas, so it's worth budgeting accordingly. Despite our concerns about the food pricing, we absolutely loved our stay and hope to return again someday.

We only stayed 3 nights, we all wished it could've been longer. The grounds were well kept. We enjoyed the playground, animals, the bicycles and the pool. The s'mores at night were so much fun. There was a large wedding during our stay; but it wasn't even a bother the grounds are so large. The breakfast buffet was lovely, such a great selection. My 6 yo was in heaven with the fresh fruit! Dinner, not as thrilling. We went to Mavericks. The staff were ok, not nearly as engaging as breakfast. The food while really good was really overpriced. Being that far out of town they can really gauge you. Because unless you plan to leave, you'll pay it. We loved our stay and hope to come back again!

While the staff members are kind, it seems they force their own idea of what you should do with your hair onto you. After the first time of them doing that to me earlier this year, I thought "maybe it was just this stylist?" so I went again recently. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. My bangs were cut shorter than I asked, and they are very obviously crooked. It has ruined 4 special events that I was part of this week. I didn't even want to go to one I had today, just because I was embarrassed of how all my photos were turning out with such a terrible haircut. ---------- I went in and asked for my bangs to just be shaped - no dramatic length change. I was at a loss of words whenever I was turned around to look at my reflection and see that I got something completely different from what I had asked. The stylist seemed excited, and I just looked at her in disbelief. She asked if I wanted her to change anything, but you can't paste hair back on, so I mustered out a stoic "no"...didn't want more of my hair to be butchered off. Hair grows back, I get that, but I specifically went here to get my bangs shaped for special events that I knew I was going to be photographed multiple times for. Little did I know it was going to ruin my memory of each one.

I was with a large party and we were seated on an outdoor deck area that overlooks a lovely greenbelt and the Colorado river. I was uncertain about outdoor seating in June, but they had lots of fans that dispense a light mist to help cool the area. The drinks were excellent, I had a margarita on the rocks with tajin rim and it was tasty and refreshing. The food was fabulous! I highly recommend the meatballs. Everyone in our party could not get enough of them. I will be back to try the wings, they looked delish. Misty was our server and I am still in awe over her. She went out of her way to make sure everyone in our (very large) party was taken care of. There were dozens of us and I'm not even sure how she managed to do it but I realized afterwards, I never waited long for anything. Misty was always nearby and so kind and attentive. Im not sure how she took care of so many people at once, it was amazing, honestly. Ive never seen such efficiency and I don't know how she did it. I hope I'm lucky enough to see her again when I go back to sample those wings!

Who knew Bastrop, Texas, would have some of the best pizza and pasta I've had in a long time?…read more I'm in town for a six-week work assignment and decided to try Bastiano's for takeout. All I can say is wow. I ordered the creamy garlic pasta with chicken, spinach, bacon, and onions, along with a supreme pizza, and both were outstanding. The pasta was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor without being overly heavy. The chicken was tender, the bacon added the perfect savory bite, and the spinach and onions balanced everything beautifully. Then there was the pizza. This wasn't one of those pizzas where you have to hunt for toppings. Every slice was loaded with pepperoni, ham, sausage, olives, mushrooms, and vegetables. The crust had a great texture, the cheese was perfectly melted, and every bite was packed with flavor. One of the best parts is the value. The portions were generous enough that this takeout order will easily feed me for several days, which makes the quality even more impressive. As someone who wasn't expecting to discover amazing Italian food in Bastrop, Bastiano's was a pleasant surprise. If you're local or just passing through town, do yourself a favor and give them a try. I'll definitely be ordering again before my assignment is over.

I built my own white pizza with garlic butter herb sauce, fresh mozz, mushrooms, and Italian sausage. It was pretty tasty. I was STARVING so maybe that amplified the flavor. This brings me to my next point... Pizza takes FOREVER. I clocked it and it was a full hour from the moment we ordered. This was particularly unpleasant because I was waiting in the car with my two bored and hungry toddlers. If you have kids, you get it. Not ideal. By the way, we tried to call ahead and no one picked up the phone (we tried a couple times). I should also add that the prices are very reasonable here. The kids menu pizzas are very cheap and more than enough food to fill them up.

Actually, the white substance came from something hot sitting next to it and melted the knob. You probably ask, "how can that be with a new, metal knob?" Actually that was my exact question. News flash: The knob was made out of plastic. It looks like stainless steel and you could not tell for how much we paid for the stove top that it was plastic. However, all those knobs are plastic. Fortunately, Steven tracked down two of the knobs...we replaced one and have one in reserve. I suppose it's no different than the evolution of cars. We went from cars made from steel to cars made from fiberglass. There is even plastic in car interiors these days. Many high-end cars no longer have leather. It's called other things but is faux leather (vegan leather, sustainable leather, vinyl leather and pleather). Many cars have "vegan" versions of expensive materials like wood and leather.
