They may be more traditional (no screens, no digital communication), but I actually enjoy that. I don't need photos of her everyday. I can tell she's learning and engaged by the things she tells and shows us at home and how happy she is to see her teachers and friends each day at drop-off. I appreciate that the teachers are spending their time with my child actually teaching and guiding. My daughter knows her numbers, colors, shapes - even a song that names all the planets. She gets exposed to foreign languages (Spanish, French, Japanese, ASL), music, yoga, other cultures and countries, and so much more. There are some older reviews that mention coloring sheets, but we haven't experienced that. One of the teachers who has been there for roughly 2 years is an artist herself and helps the children with a guided (every child makes their version of the same image) or self-expressive (every child creates what they would like) each week. We even have some framed up in our child's room. I highly recommend Twin Oaks.

We've had wonderful experiences with Stepping Stone--the teachers (our favorite it Ms. Teresa) and the director have always been good at communicating and reliable. We feel comfortable that they are taking excellent care of our daughter, and will soon be caring for our little boy who is on the way. I've noticed that there's been very little turn over or change of staff since we've been there (which is not always the case for other child care centers) so I think they're doing something right over there from an employee point of view too. All the teachers are kind and patient and our daughter has always enjoying going to Stepping Stone. I've seen other people mention issues with the waiting list process. I think part of the issue is that this location is so small and in such high demand because if you live in the neighborhood (this location is an old converted house), it's wildly convenient and walkable. As soon as we were added to the waiting list--probably 8/9ish months ahead of our desired start date--we were told that we would eventually get into this location, but because of space and enrollment constraints we might need to spend sometime a another, bigger campus and wait until there was a spot for us to transfer. Not ideal, but it's a small campus and we've had such a good experience here that I wouldn't hesitate to do the same thing again even with the possibility of the minor inconvenience of spending some time at another location. When something is high demand, there's usually a good reason. And we've think Stepping Stone is great!

Watching both of them grow up understanding and speaking Spanish naturally has been one of the greatest gifts of this school. What we love is how the curriculum balances structure with play. The kids play all day, but they're also learning real concepts like colors, numbers, and letters woven into everything they do. They sing, they dance, and they even have Mandarin lessons. There's so much thought put into how the day is organized. The director deserves special recognition. She runs a safe, well-managed facility and stays personally involved with the kids. She knows them, not just their names. The staff also goes above and beyond to make the school feel special. They decorate beautifully and are always putting on themed events for the students, staff, and families. It creates such a warm, joyful community. After three years and two children here, we can wholeheartedly recommend INIC to any family. The infant room was very well staffed and had a calm, nurturing environment. The teachers there…read morewere kind, attentive, and consistent about updating daily events and activities, which we truly appreciated. Unfortunately, our experience in the toddler room was very different. The front entrance door that uses a key code did not always close and lock properly, and the toddler gate leading to the right hallway did not lock securely, which raised safety concerns. A lot of times at pick up that hallway also smelled like a trash bag of poop was stored somewhere. Many toys were kept on high shelves and out of reach, leading children to climb on the shelf in order to access them. During transitions and diaper changes, children were often left without activities, resulting in restlessness and pacing. Cleanup also fell almost entirely on the teachers, as children were not taught or encouraged to help put toys away, which appeared to limit the teachers' ability to support children who were struggling emotionally. Communication was also difficult. At pickup, teachers were understandably busy managing multiple children, but there was little insight into how my daughter's day had gone. Messages sent through the app often had delayed responses. There was also a required supply list that included items such as a water paint kit, colored pencils, a paint apron, and crayons, but these supplies were never used in the classroom. My 2.5-year-old thrives in a structured environment. In this classroom, much of the day was unstructured free play, and she struggled significantly. During her final full week, she spent most of each day sitting and crying. She appeared overwhelmed, isolated, and unable to engage. On three consecutive days, photos shared as "gym activities" showed children sitting against a wall watching the teacher, whereas earlier in her enrollment gym time involved active movement and play. That earlier structure had been far more appropriate for her needs. While the staff were kind, the lack of structure and engagement negatively affected my child's well-being and ultimately led us to seek a different environment. Although another classroom was offered, seeing her cry consistently on the camera and struggle at drop-off made it difficult to continue.

I was concerned that her physical symptoms were initially dismissed as anxiety rather than being taken seriously. Communication was another issue. When I withdrew my daughter due to the ongoing problems, I was still held to the two-week notice policy. After she missed multiple days because of illness, I continued to receive payment reminders. Overall, I found the communication, handling of behavioral concerns, and response to health-related issues disappointing. Most importantly, the experience had a negative impact on my daughter. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this camp.

I laid my concerns out for the TMC and they only reassured me that our son was the typical 3 yr old. Within a weeks time, we transferred our son to TMC with a gradual transition based on his needs. That was over 6 months ago and our son couldn't be thriving more. We attribute this to an entire staff of loving, caring and very patient super-star individuals at TMC. While our son still is difficult to understand with his speech and still has outbursts, luckily they're short-lived; but furthermore, our son's vocabulary has exploded since his time at TMC. And even more importantly is that our son really does enjoy going to school and when we pick him up rarely does he want to leave. When your child begins to talk about his friends and the teachers he says he loves, unsolicited --- you know you made the right decision with TMC!! We moved to Austin recently and were in search of a summer program for our three year old. I felt…read morean instant connect with Jessica - the director of the school, she is warm and very accommodating. Our son was here for two months and we loved it. They teachers are wonderful - Bekah, Barbara, CJ and Augusta.It was easy to slip into conversation with them during pick up and they were generous with mindful observations about how my son was doing at school. The school is located in a charming street with plenty of green tress and has been a place of learning since 1970. The bricks have inscriptions on them and the tiles have pictures that peek and tell stories of children who were here. The classrooms have plenty of material for children to choose from and they are very aesthetically done. Every time I drop off the little one the atmosphere has been so lively with music and sprinklers - I wish I could stay a little longer. My wish was granted when Jessica allowed me to stay for an hour and shadow the class. The rest of my review is details of the a few hours I spent in the classroom with Barbara and Bekah. It was the last day of summer so the excitement and restlessness was palpable. Children were being dropped off and they were helping themselves to a snack of whole wheat toast and delicious cream. They started to settle down and pick activities. Some worked on alphabet activities, some with books, some with puzzles, some picked numeric activities and some art and sensory activities. Children either worked alone or in small groups. The teacher helped the children who worked with letters to understand phonetics. Two little girls settled down with books - the younger a little distracted and the older focussed, learning from each other. Another little girl got a bunch of pocket books and flipped through them alone - immersed. The teachers did a fine job of balancing - offering help when needed and letting the children be as needed. The little ones seemed to prefer sensory work - coloring, playing with cotton swabs, watering plants and painting. Each activity is set up on a quaint tray and children are encouraged to clean up after they are done. The class is soon settled and bustling with an air of calm, busy, enthusiasm. Everyone finding their zone, their space, taking time to choose an activity, work and wind up. Some stick with an activity for 10 mins, some 20 and others longer. Little girls are busy drawing a unicorn, a boy in learning to sew with thread and paper. Two little girls sit together and play with colored tiles, learning to match and compare. A little boy who has been playing with shimmer - used a dust pan to clean up and does a throughout job. Older kids tend to persist more and interaction with adults definitely encourages them. Overall a great environment to learn to pick what you like, stick and find meaning in what you do, learn to wind down and clean up when you are done and derive joy through the process.

They do fun activities like fall festival, halloween parade, holiday recital, summer parties, career week, book fair, etc. You get updates throughout the day on Brightwheel, helping you stay connected with what your children are doing throughout the day. After being on the waitlist for about 6 weeks, my son started in the Infant B classroom. His teachers Ms. Demica and Ms. Lily have been absolutely wonderful. He always smiles when he sees Ms. Demica and goes right into her arms. And there's no doubt in my mind that Ms. Lily was put on this earth to work with children. They're amazing teachers! Anytime I drop by, my son is kept clean and always looks well cared for. The facility is tidy and the classroom is so spacious, allowing plenty of room to crawl around and play. They do outside time when the weather is nice too. Also, I really enjoy the photos they send us through the app. Kids can be sensitive to change. When we switched daycares, of course my son was confused and upset at drop off. Ms. Lily in Infant B went above and beyond that day, taking extra care of my crying son and sending us many, many photos on that first day, and it really eased our anxious minds! My son fully adjusted in about 1.5 weeks. And finally, I love that OWM has theme days and events for the children and parents to enjoy! Keep up the great work, OWM!
