If someone had told me that I would be grateful to drive almost an hour out of my way every time I…read morebring my daughter to preschool only to have to sit at some fast food restaurant for the day to work until she's done, I would've said they were crazy. But grateful is exactly how I feel about this school. We discovered it by chance when our son and daughter did a summer camp at McKinney Falls a few years ago. As luck would have it, her instructor at that camp was going to be heading up the new preschool. He encouraged us to check it out, and because he was so amazing with her, we did. Every day she comes home covered in dirt and mud and paint that she made herself from materials in nature. She smells like smoke and we can't get the sand out of her hair for days. Her classmates frequently tell each other how much they love each other and work together to build things and play games. In other words, it's fantastic. Our biggest regret is how far away it is, but not because of the time spent in the car or the money spent on gas. She has made amazing friends there that we rarely see and likely won't stay in contact with for the most part because it's just too hard to get together. But if you are considering nature preschools Wildlife Forest Preschool is hard to beat.

The environment is the most wonderful, natural space for kids to explore and grow. The tree coverage provides shade on warm days and protection on cold and rainy days. The teachers truly care about the learning of each student and pull families into the fold of the community. It is an incredibly rich learning environment and our whole family has felt the positive impact of it.

Both of my kids have VERY different personalities, and I feel like all the teachers have adapted and responded to both of their different needs so well! The owner, Ms Kathryn, has amazing communication skills and has created such a sweet community here in Manor for parents, teachers and kids. There was a parents night out recently that my oldest was begging to go to just to have a chance to be back at her old school! All of the teachers here are kind, friendly and trustworthy. We receive multiple updates and pictures per day and they have fun, interactive activities and lesson plans. My kids have gone to many different daycares, camps and schools and this has been one of our favorites jsut because it truly feels like part of our family!

We were unable to attend due to financial situations with COVID and being unable to receive the vaccine exemption form(required to attend school). I spoke with Kathryn and told her our situation. She extremely rude and condescending when I asked for a refund. She told me "I'm trying to run a business here and I don't have to tell you our refund policy." I didn't sign a form that stated their refund policy nor was I aware of it before or after the transaction. We have been effected heavily by COVID and can not afford to lose money but this business could care less about the financial situation of their families. I was given no options. They wouldn't transfer the deposit to the next quarter, no partial refund, nothing. Following writing this review I have been threatened with a lawsuit, over $150? AND HARASSED ON MY BUSINESS PAGE BY THE OWNER BOBBY!!! I am honestly not surprised with how I was treated over the phone.

I trusted this place with my child, and what we experienced was extremely hurtful and unacceptable. Over time, I witnessed behavior from certain staff members that made me seriously concerned about the environment and how children were being treated. My son experienced inappropriate and hurtful comments about his skin color, and instead of addressing the situation, the blame was shifted onto him. He was also being bullied, and nothing was handled properly. On top of that, I also noticed a serious lack of confidentiality. Personal information about families and their situations was openly discussed among staff and even shared with other parents, which is completely unprofessional and unsafe. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this daycare. Families deserve a place that is safe, respectful, and supportive, and unfortunately this daycare did not provide that for my child. I strongly hope changes are made so no other child or parent has to go through what we did.

We talk to fellow parents who have had horror stories from other childcare options nearby and they say we are so lucky that we found St. Philips first. Another mom attended as a child and drives 45 minutes so her son can get the same care. The pricing is also amazing - they currently offer 2, 3, and 5 day options from 9-2. My daughter comes home and naps for 2-3 hours so the schedule works perfectly for us. There is not teacher turnover like at other places either. These women live in the community with us and have been teaching at St. Philips for years. My daughter is currently in Ms. Lee's class and she is an absolute gem. She sends extremely detailed weekly emails going over our curriculum for the week and topics to talk about around the dinner table. It makes me feel like I'm not missing out or out of the loop. She also shares her funny moment of the week and I love hearing stories about funny things our kids say to her haha. For an anxious mom, I also love that I can see hundreds of photos that they upload to our private shared Google drive. The amount of creativity that these teachers have is insane! They have turned the entire building into a railroad station and the north pole for Christmas, a massive candy land board game, and many many more. The art projects cover every inch of the room and it is such a happy place. My jaw literally drops when I see the pictures! My daughter tells me that she wishes she could go to school everyday. This was her first school experience so we were worried about her being overstimulated or overwhelmed in the beginning but literally the first day was the only hard drop off. On day 2 she walked in like a complete champ! I honestly wish we signed her up for the 2s class a year earlier! The potty training curriculum would have helped us! Haha I like that it isn't a massive facility where I feel like my kid could get lost (three 13 person classes). It honestly feels like a family and such a safe environment. I was also raised catholic, but am not religious now. I've been around those environments before that can be kinda toxic and this place is completely loving and inclusive. It is a small part of their curriculum so I wouldn't let that piece take them off the table if it is a concern. My daughter also surprises me with how much she is learning. Her letter recognition and sounds have really benefited from their curriculum and daily phonics song. Last week she said "pig....puh puh....pig starts with P just like my name!!" She also is really fascinated about the days of the week, months, weather, etc. so even though the socialization and emotional regulation are the most important facets at this age, she is absorbing information like a sponge. I'm so excited to send our other kids here.

As we toured, it immediately felt like the kids were comfortable, and we felt so welcome. Since our child has been there (he is our first baby) they have given us confidence, comfort and advice when we sought it. They helped us to realize our kid was suffering from hearing loss and guided us on how we could get him help both from doctor and government programs. They have patiently guided our kid through some serious anxiety struggles and I've witnessed they practice flexibility with other neurodivergent children. It's so comforting and appreciated. This place has become more than a daycare for our family, we've gained amazing friendships with other families, the staff, and the sweet resident pups, kitty and farm animals.
