APG was my only real "village" in Austin when raising my daughter, and they were truly a godsend. Connie somehow knows every child by name and always takes the time to check in with both parents and kids. Today we stopped by to visit the facility and staff. Our first impression was they are very friendly and happy going staff. They gave us a warm welcome and a tour of the facitlity. Oh one more thing it doesn't smell like clorox or bleach around the facility. They have a huge play area in the front that is covered in natural shade by some huge trees. In the back of the facility there was even more shade and another big play area that look like a fortress and huge big play area for kids to run around. It is all family-owned, the director was very insprational as you spoke with her about rates and the facility. The kinder prep class room was very welcoming and the children look very energetic and happy to be there. The pre-school (k) class room was even better. The teacher was like me old school and teaching the kids to be independent of themselves and a team player in helping clean. She told us the kids go on field trips to all pumpkin patches, dinosaur park in Bastsrop, and many other fun exciting places for kids to be kids. The instructor also explained that they teach the children values and discipline. Something most pre-schools or day cares these days don't really teach. They are all certified in CPR and they renew their certifications every two years for CPR. The classes are very spacious, open, very clean to the teeth. Kids were well behaved and had very good manners with their teacher and us visiting. I know today was our first impression but as they say first impressions make a point. Today they were A Plus in my book. I really enjoyed the part about how they are Christian oriented and how the kids say the pledge of allegiance. That in my book fits our family values. One we are both veterans of our country and two we are trying to teach our children the value of Christianity. Whether or not those are your family values this place really is professional and courteous about taking care of the children there. I am really excited about our kids attending here.

They may be more traditional (no screens, no digital communication), but I actually enjoy that. I don't need photos of her everyday. I can tell she's learning and engaged by the things she tells and shows us at home and how happy she is to see her teachers and friends each day at drop-off. I appreciate that the teachers are spending their time with my child actually teaching and guiding. My daughter knows her numbers, colors, shapes - even a song that names all the planets. She gets exposed to foreign languages (Spanish, French, Japanese, ASL), music, yoga, other cultures and countries, and so much more. There are some older reviews that mention coloring sheets, but we haven't experienced that. One of the teachers who has been there for roughly 2 years is an artist herself and helps the children with a guided (every child makes their version of the same image) or self-expressive (every child creates what they would like) each week. We even have some framed up in our child's room. I highly recommend Twin Oaks.

Had to pull out our kiddo after seeing safety issues. Also there is so much turnover with teachers. My kiddo was always telling me of a new person teaching that the admins never told us about. Lack of communication and when I asked the admins questions, they snapped at me and got defensive. Then I looked at the licensing reports after one parent pulled out her infant for big safety concerns (documented in a high violation). Small school and so many teachers have left. In 2024 so far many violations including untrained teachers. We are thriving at our new school and it's cheaper, staff is nicer (communicates at least without snapping) and is a safer place for our little one. Also located right under a 5 G tower (see the other review - it's unsafe for that reason too).Here is the mess I found from licensing. Our child was diagnosed with ASD and ADHD after leaving FSCS. That said, FSCS never suggested that his behaviors might be due to some sort of developmental delays or neurodivergence. For the cost, I'd think/hope/expect that they would have someone on staff that would be able to help parents identify these types of "issues" early on but it was never suggested that his "behavior issues" might be something to take a longer look at. It was never part of ANY conversation that he/we might benefit from an evaluation for ANYTHING. We were just told (REGULARLY (almost daily)) about behavior issues. So, if you're into paying a premium to be shamed as a caregiver or being made to feel like a less than amazing parent, I encourage you to send your loved one(s) to FSCS.

Between two children and a cross-country move, we have experienced more than our share of daycares -- easily a half-dozen over the past decade. This one stands out as being the best by a long shot. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but this facility is a hidden gem. My only regret is that we didn't find it sooner. I think the best way to sum up my feelings is that every time I dropped off my child here, I felt such joy -- joy at seeing the directors Rachel and James running a caring-centered facility, joy at seeing the teachers empathetically interacting with children, joy at seeing the kids working independently at lessons that ranged from feeding farm animals on site, working in the gardens or enjoying a variety of lessons inside the classroom. As opposed to stricter Montessori environments I had experienced, where parents were discouraged from participating, we were welcomed here for monthly poetry recitals, Bubbles & Books and more. I loved the random events that inspired creativity, such as Dress Like a Composer Day or Chordate Day. We also participated in extracurriculars such as cooking class.
