I would have never though that I would need a…read moreflorist in Payson, but when an old friend had a sudden death in the family, a group of us rallied to try to do what we could to show support for her in that difficult time. Many of us live in far flung parts of the world--as far away as India--and so I called Karen's to see if we could arrange to have everyone in our group call in and pay whatever they wanted to donate. Originally this was a great idea, and they were amenable, but we quickly realized the funeral was a day sooner than I had thought, and we didn't have enough time. In fact, it was the following morning from my phone call, and they were amazing to step up and agree to not only do the arrangement but also to have it delivered to the service in the morning. We were talking at around 5pm, and they committed to have it to the church the next morning by 11am or so. Huge thanks for the fast turnaround, flexibility, and for agreeing to help out. In the end, it's hard to fully judge the whole experience, as I never got to see the finished product. I'm told by our friend that it did indeed arrive, so I'm grateful as can be. I dunno how it looked. I'm quite particular about flowers, as it turns out, and so I just hope it was a nice, full arrangement. I don't mind the express deliver fee we were charged, and we certainly didn't get a deal on flowers, but for what I needed, in my long distance situation, I was just grateful they would work with me. One thing--I did try to stop by on December 26 as it was serendipitous that I would be passing through Payson that day and I wanted to make the arrangements then, but they were closed. I was there during business hours but it was locked and dark; I imagine it was a holiday break? I found them here on Yelp and you can Request a Quote here on the site (praise be!) but I wish they had used the "Special Hours" feature to show a variance from their regular hours and I would have just tried to call the next day instead of stopping by.

Recently I was asked to teach a gardening class for The Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints on a Stake level. I went to Olsen's Garden Shoppe in Payson, Utah to get a schedule of their up coming classes they teach to refer my class members to. When Chris Olsen (One of the owners) found out why I had come in, not only did she get me the upcoming class flyers, she went beyond being helpful giving me ideas for teaching. I was astounded at her kindness & generous support of our community. I've frequented their Nursery / Garden Center for my own yard as well as friends & neighbors, but was shocked at her support. Their employee's are always knowledgeable & helpful too!

Olson's Garden Shoppe is one of the best greenhouses I've been to around Utah…read more This is the retail location for garden and gardening supplies. If you need something I'm sure they will have it here. Plants, seeds, fertilizers, soil and little things like pots are available year round. The west side of the building is pretty much dedicated to house plants. Small to large, there is almost always a plant that you are looking for available. I've even bought plants in the middle of winter! During the spring you can grab almost any plant for your garden. They have so many varieties of tomatoes and peppers in multi packs you could buy your garden on one trip. You can buy bare roots for planting as well as seeds if you want to start from ground zero (pun intended.) Check their website to see what the monthly specials are. You can get great discounts at the end of the season on plants as well. Parking is abundant and this place covers a large area. Bigger items like trees and shrubs are outside the actual greenhouse so if you are going to buy items that are larger, you should park around the side by the east gate. It's separated by plant type outside so you can easily navigate to find what you need. Even if you aren't looking to buy something quite yet, just take a walk around the place and see what they have to offer. The staff is so nice and if you have a question (no matter how difficult) there is someone there to help you out. Brad is the man when it comes to plants. He knows the little tricks and tips to growing what you need. They also feature classes to help you become a better gardener and plant person! Bottom line is, come here! It's very likely they will have anything you need related to your plant needs.

Wish I'd checked here before I ordered online from this company. Needed a very specific type of…read morearrangement and colors for a funeral, also wanted to support local. Funeral happened very fast and had to order after closing on a Friday for a Monday holiday delivery. The two stars are for the freshness of the flowers and getting them there on time (I don't know if they went to the funeral home on Saturday or the chapel on Monday but they were there for the viewing.) The website gives you two choices, both are florist designed so you don't really know what you're going to get. Choices are "soft and delicate" or "bright and bold." No funeral flower section but one of the reviewers mentioned them doing a good job on funeral flowers so I thought it would work out. Chose "soft and delicate" at the $150 "amaze them" price point. There was an added $9 product mark up (for what?) and $9.99 delivery and I tipped $15. (How you're supposed to tip in advance is always a mystery to me.) I wrote in my checkout notes to please contact me on Saturday. Saturday morning I had not heard from anyone and I sent an email. My bad there, should have called, but wanted to send a picture of the preferred arrangement type and colors and you can't do that over the phone. These flowers needed to somewhat match the families and absolutely had to be a standup spray. Even a standup spray of all carnations would probably have been OK if they had been soft pinks or purples. Yikes, I was so embarrassed, had someone ever called me or emailed back, but it never happened. Got the sense they just wanted the $$ and don't care about customer service. If you know flowers, I can tell you that wholesale, this was no more than $50 max to create, and that's erring high on the estimate. The colors were absolutely wrong, honestly, I would call these "bright and bold." Certainly not worth the $200 with tax that I paid for them, although I would still tip because they got them there on time. Two star rating is due to the poor communication.
