Recently I was asked to teach a gardening class for The Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints on a Stake level. I went to Olsen's Garden Shoppe in Payson, Utah to get a schedule of their up coming classes they teach to refer my class members to. When Chris Olsen (One of the owners) found out why I had come in, not only did she get me the upcoming class flyers, she went beyond being helpful giving me ideas for teaching. I was astounded at her kindness & generous support of our community. I've frequented their Nursery / Garden Center for my own yard as well as friends & neighbors, but was shocked at her support. Olson's Garden Shoppe is one of the best greenhouses I've been to around Utah. This is the retail location for garden and gardening supplies. If you need something I'm sure they will have it here. Plants, seeds, fertilizers, soil and little things like pots are available year round. The west side of the building is pretty much dedicated to house plants. Small to large, there is almost always a plant that you are looking for available. I've even bought plants in the middle of winter! During the spring you can grab almost any plant for your garden. They have so many varieties of tomatoes and peppers in multi packs you could buy your garden on one trip. You can buy bare roots for planting as well as seeds if you want to start from ground zero (pun intended.) Check their website to see what the monthly specials are. You can get great discounts at the end of the season on plants as well. Parking is abundant and this place covers a large area. Bigger items like trees and shrubs are outside the actual greenhouse so if you are going to buy items that are larger, you should park around the side by the east gate. It's separated by plant type outside so you can easily navigate to find what you need. Even if you aren't looking to buy something quite yet, just take a walk around the place and see what they have to offer. The staff is so nice and if you have a question (no matter how difficult) there is someone there to help you out. Brad is the man when it comes to plants. He knows the little tricks and tips to growing what you need. They also feature classes to help you become a better gardener and plant person! Bottom line is, come here! It's very likely they will have anything you need related to your plant needs. read more

BEWARE, I would give zero stars but not an option, do not order flowers for graveside delivery. This company is a scam. The service is RUDE, frantic, rushed and we regret ever ordering flowers from them for our mother. We were told that we would get a photo of the flowers at the grave side, we did not. Then we're told that maybe they were stolen??? We were then also told that the mayor delivered them??? THAT is why there was no picture, laughable. Absolutely Unbelievable they are in business at all. read more

I purchased 3 rose bushes from Olsens. Two are beautiful and one died within 3 days. Everything else around this rose is flourishing and I know it is being watered. Long story short, I called the store to see if I could have a refund or replacement. Chris, the owner, said it was impossible for the rose to die if I had been watering it. so, pretty much called me a liar. Also, she doesn't give refunds but could do 50% credit on the sale price. I don't think this is quality customer service and although they will not miss my business, I will never patronize their store again. read more

I sent 6 pots in January to be planted and paid 200.00 dollars. I picked up my pots the week before mothers day. I am so disappointed in the way they were planted and looked. I have a very good friend who has worked with the nursery for over 15 years and told me it looked like my pots had been planted very late, just before I picked them up. My Geraniums looked like seedlings and there was no roots even established. I called and spoke to the owner of Olsen's and was treated very rudely. Instead of fixing the problem he stated my friend didn't know everything?? Well guess what she knows how to plant pots and knows flowers and compared to my neighbors pots right next door mine look like CRAP!! I went to another nursery and spent 60.00 more dollars trying to fill in my pots. I have spent thousand of dollars at Olsens they landscaped my whole yard at my old home. I will never use them again for the way I was treated!!! read more
