There was an extensive variety of candy and snacks from Japan and Asia, so colorful and attractive.  The store was quite busy even at 3 pm on a Friday.  I truly felt like a kid in a candy store, happy but a little overwhelmed. There were not just candy and sweets, I saw some traditional Chinese dried fruits, such as dried plums, which are very salty.  Candied fruits called Tanghulu and some fruit-shaped ice cream are interesting. Our friend is familiar with Asian food.  She happily showed me a bag of Japanese rice cake and other snacks that she was going to buy.  The cashier checkout is at the end of the store, which is a bit unusual.  The checkout process seemed efficient and friendly. Since I was planning to shop for baked goods, I didn't purchase anything this time. But I will definitely return and spend more time exploring the store. There is so much to see, and I'm sure there will be something appealing for everyone.

It felt nice to find a colorful and lively place while everything else around was quiet. The store had a cheerful holiday vibe with bright lights and shelves full of candies, chocolates, and fun treats. There were some really good deals going on, with many items on 50% and even 75% discount, which made it a great time to shop. You could find a mix of classic candies, chocolates, and fun novelty items at reasonable prices. Even though it was Christmas, the store was not very busy, so it was easy to walk around, browse comfortably, and take your time choosing items. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was fun and relaxed. That and in typical fashion at a dim sum restaurant, we stuffed ourselves to the brim and chose to walk off some of those calories when a huge selection of stuffed animals, including Pikachu, caught our attention. I mean, seriously, how could they not? The window display for this shop was full of so many anime characters, toys, and Chicago memorabilia as a whole. Upon entering, too, there is even more.
