Ordering station with chalk board menu

This was my first time here. It's a hidden gem. The bread was different not sure what cheese is used but it tasted great. The inside wasn't crowded and there wasn't a line when I got there. I ordered 3 items and it took about 15 minutes for it to be ready.

Good food and good service! I came here with my native Brazilian husband, and he said the food is very authentic. We both got "the trio" for $14.99 each for dinner, and we shared a pave ($3.75) and a slice of bolo de brigadeiro (the white kind) for dessert ($3.90). Of the three meats, our fave was the tri-tip because we weren't the biggest fans of the seasoning put on the chicken, but the sausage was delicious too! My favorite part of the whole meal was the beans! So delicious! The desserts were tasty and fun to try, but we both agreed the cake was just a tad dry, but it had great potential! Fun to come here, and I'm sure we will come back, especially to try coxinha on a Saturday!

I'm originally from Brazil so I'm very very picky on my Brazilian joints. Sweet Spot is my favorite restaurant in Utah! Trust me, there are a lot of other Brazilian places but I always come back here for a few reasons: * Feijoada with Fresh Beans ( not canned) *Authenticity *Great Service *Delicious Desserts And the best atmosphere!! I wouldn't say it's a hole in the wall but it's for sure a smaller restaurant. It makes it for a more personable experience! 5/5 recommend it to anyone wanting to try Brazilian food! My favorites to order: Pastel, coxinha, guaraná, suco de Maracujá! On Saturdays: Feijoada plate!

A bakery with Brazilian food? A Brazilian cafe with baked goods? Either way, this little cafe in Sandy definitely carries a heavy influence of Brazilian food. And that's a good thing. Located in the Union Square shopping center at 9400 S. and 700 E., it's no surprise to find such a melange of northern and southern hemisphere menu items. This shopping center seems to be trying to have somewhat of a renaissance. Long gone are the days of the Scout Shop and even longer the Winchell's. The old Peter Piper Pizza is gone in favor of a diner that does a bustling breakfast and lunch, and the old Union Station Cafe (?) disappeared to make way for Walgreen's. And of course, that island of Caribbean dining, Adobos. And the 9th & 9th haven of all things adorable - Hip & Humble Home - has opened another location a few doors down. It makes perfect sense that this bakery cafe opened its doors a few months ago in what's become a gathering place for eclectic (though not eccentric) businesses. It's quite nice inside, if not understated and simple. With a name like "Sweet Spot" I was bracing myself to enter a palace built of cupcakes, pink things, and Disney charm that's best left in Anaheim. Instead, I found a few tables, some well-lit bakery cases, and a modern decor. The kind lady back in the kitchen/bakery welcomed me, and soon came out to explain their offerings. The menu fits tidily onto a one page trifold, focusing both on lunchtime and dinner offerings, although dinner options are more limited. Lunchtime sandwiches fit into three categories: paninis, beirute sandwiches, and Brazilian hot sandwiches and range from about $7 for paninis into the $8 and $9 range for others. I'd never heard of a beirute sandwich. It's sometimes referred to as a beirut sandwich, and does infact have ties back to the Middle East. It seems that over the last several decades there has been a great number of people of Lebanese heritage settling in Brazil, and in that wonderful mixing pot way, the marriage of two cultures has been harmonious when it comes to cuisine. These sandwiches are served in pita pocket bread and often include meat veggies, and a fried egg. Their namesake Sweet Spot Beirute ($9.75) is stuffed with tri-tip steak, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, a fried egg and a cream cheese spread. Hello, wonderful! They also come in ham & cheese, chicken, or turkey. The Brazilian hot sandwiches are simple--the churrasco is served with picanha (tri tip steak) or you can have a ham and cheese or bauru - grilled cheese. All come on a baguette and start at $6.75. It looks like both beirutes and Brazilian sandwiches come with your choice of fries or salad. Once I got to the dinner menu, I knew I'd be back again soon. The appetizer section is mostly Portuguese words, which thankfully come with translations. Coxhina, baleinha, risolis, esfiha, empada, kibe. It's a large assortment of dumplings, fried pastries, empanada-like turnovers, and deep fried Brazilian hush puppies. That last one is my own translation and is loose at best. They're all between $2 and $3 and merit sampling. The dinner menu itself is short and simple. A few salads, and three main entrees ($9.75): chicken, steak, or Brazilian sausage platter that all come with salad, rice, beans, and farofa -a popular dish in Brazil made of fried and seasoned yucca flour. I didn't get to see the farofa to tell if it was the larger cous-cous sized stuff or what add-ins they have, so chalk up another reason to return. You can also get the combo platter and sample all three of the meats for and extra two bucks. I saw something about Monday nights being all you can eat pizza night. I don't see pizza on the menu, so perhaps that's just a Monday dish. I wonder what kind of pizza? I may be horribly disappointed to find it's totally normal. And let's be honest, if you've had pizza from South America, you may feel like it's an acquired taste. But it could be amazing, so perhaps as a pre dollar movie treat on Monday night I'll give it a try. Now the bakery part. That's what got me. I'm a sucker for a good baker case, and they've got plenty of temptations from both halves of the globe. Folks from Brazil are doing backflips over the availability of quindim, a kind of custard that's a traditional dessert infused with coconut. There's a more universal pudim de leite condensado (flan) and both brigadeiro and beijinho - Brazilian fudge balls, the latter with coconut. All kinds of sweet treats I probably mispronounced lined the case, and even the standard cakes and cookies looked fantastic. Nummy eclairs! I'm thrilled this place has opened. It's got enough polish and options to appeal to the non ethnic-food crowd, but still maintains authenticity for folks craving their faves from way down south. Reasonably priced, made by mama in the kitchen and enough items to lure me back to give them a try.

All you can eat Brazilian pizza for $13.50? Count me in! Utah Sweet Spot is tucked away in a small shopping center and not visible on the main street. It's a small mom and pop shop where the dining room seats about 30 people max! The server, Richard, circles the dining area with at least 3 different varieties of pizza on the pan. As this is my cheat meal, The fat girl came out of me and I picked one of each. Food: My favorite is the chicken with cream cheese. It was a bit dry, but it's because I'm so traditions to the tomato sauce or pesto basil sauce as the base. Some of the main Brazilian pizza as had the kalamata olives which may be over powering on a pizza. I personally love olives so this was great to me! There was one pizza where a ton of onions and corn were used as toppings. This was an interesting pizza, but it seemed to lack a little flavor. The dessert pizza (regular crust with Nutella, chocolate sprinkles with strawberries on top was AMAZING! I had to get seconds with those. Service: The service was pretty good for the most part. My friends and I stayed past the closing time and maybe that's why they didn't fill our waters of offer more pizza haha. Other than that, Richard continued to bring out pizza and new ones every time he went back into the kitchen. Everyone else in the cafe seemed to not want anymore, but Richard continued to bring more pizza out which is great! I'd come back here again and try the traditional Brazilian desserts and coffee since this is a bakery and cafe.

I just happened to notice this place doing some errands on a Saturday morning, so stopped in to check out the bakery part. When I got to the front door I could not open it! The open sign was on, but the door was stuck. I thought maybe they actually weren't open until later so started to walk away, but someone from inside opened the door and said it was just really heavy. I felt kind of silly, but they were really nice. I get the idea that must be an issue fairly often. The exterior and interior aren't super fancy, but for casual dining it's fine. I'm certainly not eating anywhere like that for the ambiance. The bakery case was pretty empty, and they only had maybe 5 or 6 goods available. I ordered an éclair and a brigadeiro (like a chocolate truffle sort of filling covered in chocolate sprinkles). I think I paid around $6.00 for both, so I'd say the price was average. The brigadeiro was huge, and I hadn't planned on eating it all, but I did! The éclair was for my husband who is very picky, and while he wished the filling was the more traditional custard filling rather than whipped cream he said it was still delicious. I just had a little bite, but the chocolate on top, and the actual pastry part were very good. The owner was very friendly and apologized several times about the door. I didn't try any food, but they have all you can eat pizza on Friday, and the other dishes sounded good so I'll certainly be back, and will update my review then.

We did have a great experience here, our waitress was really nice, we enjoyed trying different appetizers, a sandwich and we promised the lady who came to talk with us, that we will come back for the feiojada on Saturday. Good food, cozy environment. We will come back for sure.

These guys are solid, great pastel, feijoada, and brigadeiro. Show up Saturday for feijoada. They are Brazilians running the place so it's authentic. My 3 year old likes the pizza pastel. We will be coming here again.

Editing: Replying Christian I'm sorry but o have to disagree with you. First of all one of their servers is american, he speaks Portuguese but he's from USA. Secondly I've been here a zillion times, I've seen a lot ( if not most of) Americans that does not speak Portuguese here and I've seen the girls and owners talking to each one of them in ENGLISH!!!! Regarding the pizzas you can ask what flavors are each one..so please be more fair with this establishment... you review really makes no sense... Best coxinha ever!!! Everything here is good! Pastel has lots of filling, the desserts are incredible , try pudim is just awesome! The coxinha w/ cream cheese is my favorite! So delicious, ver authentic, It tastes just like bakery, and pastries from Brazil!

Not a bad little Brazilian shop. I wanted to come check this place out to try out some of the food. Based on the reveiws it looked super good. I got the coxinha and a panini. Honestly the coxinha was the best part and it was super tasty. I wish I got two instead of that with a panini. The panini was okay. Was very basic and had tons of mayo (which I actually like in a Sandwhich). The Sandwhich was decent and honest I should have probably got something for Brazilian like the rice and chicken or some of the other dishes they had. The staff was very friendly and they brought me out a cup of water with out me even having to ask which was a nice touch. I'll give them 4/5 because I know the other foods was probably the better choice. And the coxinha was really tasty! I'll be coming back.
