We used Sweet Roots for our wedding - they provided us with 14 buckets of beautiful wild flowers. We provided guidance on colors, the types of flowers we liked/didn't want and greenery and what we got in return absolutely exceeded our expectations. Perfect for our summer mountain wedding!

Deena was absolutely fabulous to work with and her flowers were stunning. The customer services was phenomenal and Deena was able to take my pinterest and rambling words and turn it into my dream vision board. Every detail was executed to perfection from the first meeting at the flower farm (I definitely recommend going if you can - so worth it!!), day of set up and afterwards take-down. We got married in Truckee / Tahoe so location was perfect. If you are going for boho/chic, look no further (though I know she can do it all)! 10/10 recommend

Deena and her team are beyond incredible!! She came highly recommended to us and exceeded our expectations!! We took advantage of her offer to visit her on her farm and got to see and, with her help, choose the flowers that we wanted. She built on the initial vision that we had and created the most amazing florals. We and our guests were in awe of the beauty and artistry of every arrangement, from the breathtaking Chuppa, to the most unusual and beautiful boutonnieres anyone had ever seen. Each one of the centerpieces, whether the greenery or the florals, was perfect.  Even the arrangement in the bathroom was unparalleled.  Deena is truly an artist and so, so wonderful to work with. 10000/10!!!

Deena/Sweet Roots Farm did the flowers for my wedding this past May. The flowers were exquisite and Deena was professional, responsive, organized, kind, and just very talented. She helped me from start to finish plan exactly what I wanted, asked great questions, offered tips on arrangements (I had my friend arrange bulk blooms), and delivered the flowers to our venue. She incorporated my favorite flowers of the season- peonies and daisies and so many other beautiful surprises! Deena was so enthusiastic and supportive the whole way through. Thanks for making my wedding-flower-dreams come true. Don't miss a chance to support this beautiful woman and business.

Deena and team are the BEST!!!! Wow wow wow is all I can say. They made our wedding incredibly magical. We were so happy to work with someone so thoughtful and caring. Everything - all bouquets, arrangements and more - were gorgeous. It was such a joy to know that we had flowers that were grown locally. I had requested a French-style, colorful bouquet and Sweet Roots nailed it. Deena was so wonderful to work with, too. I would definitely recommend them to anyone! Thank you, Deena and team!

Deena is an absolute dream! The entire process from start to finish was beautiful. We had to change our entire wedding plans due to COVID about a month before the ceremony and she handled everything with poise and grace. Not only is Deena an amazing floral designer and farmer but she's also so creative. She met with me to discuss my vision, sent over a vision board and even recommended photographers to match my aesthetic. Our flowers were the most gorgeous and even cooler - they were grown and picked FOR US - not flown in from somewhere out of state. Highly recommend Deena to bring your vision to life. Thank you!

I can't speak highly enough about Deena and Sweet Roots Farm. For my wedding she provided centerpieces, boutonnieres, small bouquets, loose flowers, and my flower crown. I only realized after the wedding that she's an organic farmer which made my esteem for her (and her prices!) rise even more. She's professional, super friendly, organized, a great communicator and incredibly talented at arrangements. Deena listened to my ideas and interpreted them perfectly. From my end it was tricky to explain everything I wanted because I couldn't find a picture that captured the look. So we reviewed lots of different photos where I pointed out the aspects I liked in each. She explained all the flowers available for the season and was such a great communicator that I really felt I was in safe hands. I totally was. She was very generous with her time and advice from the initial consultation to perfecting the flower crown on the wedding day (not that it needed improvement, it actually made me cry it was so beautiful, but it needed slight trimming here and there when we saw it with my hair). When she delivered the flowers I was so overwhelmed that my vision was there in front of me. Her arrangements and flower crown were works of art. So delicate and effortless but also powerful and stunning. I don't know how she did it. I HOPE I can work with her again.

Working with Deena was a joy! She always responded quickly and worked to help me create a vision for our flowers that I didn't even know I had. On top of that, she created floral arrangements for our wedding that perfectly captured what I would have imagined if I could have envisioned flowers that perfect! As if that wasn't enough, Deena bought our flowers up to Tahoe, delivered my bouquet to me, then went to my husband's location to pin on his boutonniere, before going to the site and setting up the rest of our flowers. Thank you so much for sharing your gift and kindness with us on our wedding day! Deena, I'm sorry I waited so long to post my review. I just wanted to have pictures to show why you are a 5 star florist.

They do wholesale to businesses and also sell retail to people like you and me! They offer sourdough in loafs, sliced bread, and rolls. I am sure much more, but I have not actually been to their retail store. I was gifted a loaf of sliced sourdough and muffins. Ohhhh my!! It was delicious!!! What I like is their simplicity. They use freshly milled unbleached flour, sea salt, and water. I don't like when companies use "enriched" flour. With clean ingredients and no preservatives, it will not last as long so enjoy it while it is fresh!!! Fast forward, I am shopping in the Nugget grocery store and I found the Truckee sourdough breads!! Woo Hoo!! SCORE!!!

It's probably the best bread that I've found in the Carson Valley and that's even taking Schat's and other local bakeries into account. This bread makes a great grilled cheese sandwich, cheese toast, or just a regular Sammy. I prefer the regular sourdough over their whole wheat bread, and haven't yet had the opportunity to enjoy their full loaves or buns. There are a few negatives, which takes this review down a notch to 4 Stars. - It's expensive as it's going for $6.99 a loaf. - The loaf has less preservatives (which is good), but that means that mold may appear sooner than expected. Hence, I do my duty in consuming this bread in a timely manner. - Uneven QA (see Picture). The last loaf had thinner slices and various holes within. And this is not the first time. I actually sent a that picture (and another) to the Company and haven't heard back yet. At this price, I expect better. Note: Trader Joes sells a reasonable alternative loaf for a couple dollars less.

The employees were kind as was everyone in line, which was very relaxed yet orderly. I made an initial list after seeing the menu online and some last minute substitutions when I saw the items visually. Gruyere and calabrian chili bread - The bread is amazing and still a little warm at 8:45/9 AM. The texture, taste, and flavors were perfect. A great crunch with an airy inside. The flavors complemented one another perfectly. Highly recommend getting bread. Blueberry scone - I had the peach scone on my list but this flavor was a last minute sub. It was jam packed with blueberries with a sweet glaze on top. Super freshly baked texture. Pistachio chocolate morning bun - Amazing. Nice, flaky layers. Filled with delicious chocolate chips and pistachios with a delicious chocolate sort of glaze on top. Raspberry chocolate chip brioche twist - Great flavor with raspberry jam and chocolate sort of like the innards of a choc croissant. It tasted a tiny bit dry while I usually prefer a doughier bake. Giant though! Blondie - Last minute substitution! Really yummy with chocolate chips and butterscotch chips and varied texture. The middle was yummy dough-y while the outside was more baked. Pecan stresual coffee cake - The topping was amazing as was the inner layer which felt sort of like pecan pie. I would have liked a tiny bit more moisture in the actual cake. There's decent dog entertainment in line. Meaning dogs to entertain humans, and some employees even hand out dog treats. Ravioli the doggo (shout out if you are reading this, even though the chances are low). When I left the line looked about equivalently long as when I arrived. I got the ube coconut cheesecake, lemon ricotta cookie, nectarine panna cotta tart, and the ratatouille pastry (forgot the full name). My favorite was the ratatouille pastry and the ube coconut cheesecake. The pastry was very unique, warm and tasty, and the dough was perfectly flaky and crispy. The cheesecake was also excellent--a great balance of sweet and savory without being overwhelming. I liked both the panna cotta tart and the lemon ricotta cookie, but they weren't my favorite. The cookie was very thick and cakey, sort of more like a biscuit than a cookie in my opinion. Overall the staff was also very friendly and I'd definitely come back!

Now I do consider myself a foodie and didn't want to necessarily mail it in and go to the local supermarket or even Costco to get a pie-I wanted this part of the meal to be special. So I jumped on my trusty Yelp app looking for some pie recommendations and I came across the cutest little pie shop located pretty close to my work-so I made my way down to I Love Pie Bakeshop on Fair Oaks Blvd located in the Milagro Shopping Centre. What I found was so unique-Diana the pie shop owner was super friendly and just the nicest person and when I explained to her my dilemma-she was so helpful and she walked me thru exactly what I needed to do to make sure I had pies ready to pick up for my family holiday. I ended up ordering that year a Banana Cream Pie and a Salted Caramel Dutch Apple Pie. Pies generally run in the $18 range. Well the day of pickup,I was more than thrilled with my two pies and they were absolutely beautiful, especially the Banana Cream Pie-it was so gorgeous-like a piece of art. Their whole pies are usually 8" in size-though smaller versions are also available. The pies they make at this shop can definitely be described as artisan crafted specialty pies-a whole different level than what I was used to. Lately I've been getting a few more pies here for random family events or maybe just having a sweet tooth that day. I've gotten the mixed berry pie which is a pie that features four different berries in the filling which she picks up at the local farmers market then uses the freshly-cut fruit to make her filling by hand-it's very impressive stuff and you can really taste the freshness and quality of the fresh fruit. I've also gotten the chocolate cream pie,in fact I have one of those in my refrigerator right now-it's a family favorite as the chocolate is so creamy and goes incredibly well with the perfectly made crust. Overall, I can say without hesitation that I Love Pie Bakeshop is my favorite pie shop in all the Sacramento area and I am proud to say, they have provided the pies at all of our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for the last few years and I don't see that changing for years to come. You should really check them out if you're in the area. PS.-Diana recently started a YouTube series called "The Pie Method By Diana" where she shares a lot of her pie-making secrets with the viewers-it's a really good watch as well.

This was actually my 2nd stop of the trip. The first stop was in Fairfield at Lowes. Another solid stop. As I was driving to Pedrick I made a mental note to myself of what I could get that was useful. I wrote on my list onions as they are only 89 cents for the yellow ones and a great deal. Also on the list were their pork tamales for a quick lunch when I got back. As it turns out when I got home my husband thought the same thing and stopped at McDonalds and got me a fish sandwich so I wan't wanting for food when I got home. Good thing we now have tamales ($2.89 each) for dinner. That's one less meal I have to plan. Lastly the most tasty and pricy purchase was going to be fresh strawberries. I got 3 baskets for $9.99 or close to that. I had some when I got home and they are more tasty than the ones in the grocery store. Though they aren't as good as the ones at the woodland Strawberry festival. Maybe I'm buying them off season. I was here July 15, 2026 around 12:30pm. On my way out I noticed the half price items on the cart out front. Lots of items were 99 cents or half off. You're not sure of the regular price so I wasn't sure if it would still be a good deal or not as could we actually eat that much. I picked up a bag of 2 heads/stalks of broccoli and a bag of zucchini, maybe 7 in the bag. I first took my haul to the car before checking out again. As it turns out the Broccoli and Zucchini were under $2 together. What a deal. The Tamales have gotten better. They have a new supplier and now there is less masa and more filling. They started off good, then they went really went down hill fast. They were all masa and little filling. It was really bad and we stopped buying them. We I saw they were packaged differently I inquired if they had a new supplier and the said yes, someone more local, I forgot exactly where they said they were from. We gave these new tamales a try and were happily surprised. The price over the years has really gone up in price too. The bathrooms are a great relief. This is a perfect stop for us on our way to and from the bay. They have 2 plumbed bathrooms and 2 outhouses. I had to use the outhouse last time as we got there before they opened and they were still cleaning the bathrooms after they opened. It wasn't that bad. The cleaning truck was just pulling away when I used the port o potty so I wasn't the first user after they cleaned it. I am just thankful that they have bathrooms and you don't have to make a purchase to use them. Tortillas are the best here. They are locally made and we love them. So much better than ones they sell at Raley's. Even though they are homemade they still last a while without going moldy. We've never had them mold on us. With the great deals on produce, great tortillas, and the bathroom situation we will continue to make this our stop. Between the two of us we are here nearly every week so we are always well stocked in produce and tortillas.
