All I can say is wow. We had dinner at the Brewery in the building where I Love Pie is located. After dinner tonight we checked in to get a little something sweet. We ended up getting a whole raspberry lemon meringue, a sample strawberry peach, and a sample of coconut cream when we joined the stores youtube channel. Everything was delicious! The coconut cream pie WAS CRAZYYYYYY!!!!!! The lemon raspberry was sharp and sweet with buttery crust. We are so impressed and can't wait to get more!!! So a few years back it was the Monday before Thanksgiving and my family gave me the task of having to be the pie supplier for the family dinner. Now I do consider myself a foodie and didn't want to necessarily mail it in and go to the local supermarket or even Costco to get a pie-I wanted this part of the meal to be special. So I jumped on my trusty Yelp app looking for some pie recommendations and I came across the cutest little pie shop located pretty close to my work-so I made my way down to I Love Pie Bakeshop on Fair Oaks Blvd located in the Milagro Shopping Centre. What I found was so unique-Diana the pie shop owner was super friendly and just the nicest person and when I explained to her my dilemma-she was so helpful and she walked me thru exactly what I needed to do to make sure I had pies ready to pick up for my family holiday. I ended up ordering that year a Banana Cream Pie and a Salted Caramel Dutch Apple Pie. Pies generally run in the $18 range. Well the day of pickup,I was more than thrilled with my two pies and they were absolutely beautiful,especially the Banana Cream Pie-it was so gorgeous-like a piece of art. Their whole pies are usually 8" in size-though smaller versions are also available. The pies they make at this shop can definitely be described as artisan crafted specialty pies-a whole different level than what I was used to. Lately I've been getting a few more pies here for random family events or maybe just having a sweet tooth that day. I've gotten the mixed berry pie which is a pie that features four different berries in the filling which she picks up at the local farmers market then uses the freshly-cut fruit to make her filling by hand-it's very impressive stuff and you can really taste the freshness and quality of the fresh fruit. I've also gotten the chocolate cream pie,in fact I have one of those in my refrigerator right now-it's a family favorite as the chocolate is so creamy and goes incredibly well with the perfectly made crust. Overall, I can say without hesitation that I Love Pie Bakeshop is my favorite pie shop in all the Sacramento area and I am proud to say,they have provided the pies at all of our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for the last few years and I don't see that changing for years to come. You should really check them out if you're in the area. I ordered a apple pie and it was not so great crust and filling, the apples were mush and poor flavor and not much there. Filling jelly was lacking apple pie flavor and not much there. Crust was over cooked, not over brown but super dry, lots of it though. Lacking flavor. Strange it came off kitchen cart and not a display case item. I had item before and had same thoughts. I'm really into banana cream pie and found this place through Yelp. It was a little distance from where I was but made the trek there. It is located inside a place where there were some other food options, sort of like a food court but higher end. Maybe because it was the end of the day they did not have slices of banana cream but did have a mini version that could be for 1 or 2 people so I went with it. Took it back to the hotel and started eating it. I liked that the whip cream on top was not too sweet. The pie was very tasty but was a little pricey. read more

We walked in and the smell of fresh pies was addicting! Those who are strong willed could walk by and not buy one. I am not, so I could not leave without getting a pie. The pie shop is bright and adorably decorated with fun wall art and cute merchandise. The pies are displayed and look picture perfect. Our kids instantly wanted the sprinkle celebration pie. So we got that and the key lime pie. The pies tasted like heaven. The key lime had just enough tartness. The celebration filling was creamy and not overly sweet. What made us fall in love was the crust. It was flakey, buttery, and just perfection. Some of the best pies we've had and we will be back to try the rest of them. read more

This review is long overdue! We first tried I Love Pie Bakeshop on New Year's Eve 2024 when we were frantically looking for a last-minute dessert to ring in the new year. We happened to see this place pop up in our search results and were relieved they were open. My partner picked up a pecan pie and a celebration pie -- both were absolutely delicious! Since then, we've been coming back for dessert cravings and special occasions. One thing I love is that they offer both small and large sizes, perfect whether you're just craving a slice or celebrating something bigger. We've tried several flavors -- the highly rated banana cream pie is our favorite! It's not overly sweet, the bananas taste fresh, and the crust is perfection. We've also enjoyed their horchata, corn, and celebration pies -- each one has its own unique charm. As a tired resident, I didn't have time to make anything for thanksgiving but this pie was perfect after just taking it out of the package and putting it in the oven! Got me huge brownie points. My husband loves all pie but especially banana cream so I ordered one here for Father's Day. We are new to the neighborhood and this was our first time trying I Love Pies. We will definitely be back! I am not a fan of sickeningly sweet desserts and was prepared to not like it, but it was very well balanced. The crust was just perfect. The pie connoisseur himself also gave two thumbs up. Found this pie shop via Yelp, located inside the Milagro Centre on Fair Oaks in Carmichael. It's located past the gelato stand. Did not order ahead, and took a chance walking in a few days after the Thanksgiving holiday to pick up a pie or two for Friendsgiving dinner. Seems like a one-woman run business, and for a Saturday afternoon there were still some good selections in the display case available for purchase and not already spoken for (smaller 6-inch and larger 8-inch pies), including apple (I forget if it was classic or salted caramel dutch), bourbon pecan, chocolate cream, and banana cream. Other seasonal flavors are pumpkin, sweet potato, eggnog custard, and red velvet chess. I got one 8-inch banana cream and one 8-inch chocolate cream ($28 each). The crust is all-butter, and the heart-shaped decorations on each pie are cute and very fitting of the bakeshop's name. Between the two, the banana cream pie was by far the favorite. Yummy! Thick, buttery crusts, the perfect mint of sweetness, and fresh ingredients make this bakeshop so fantastic. We tried pumpkin, apple, pecan, and custard and everyone loved the apple most! It's different from the usual, with syrupy sweet apple filling. I second another persons review that the crust could be baked just a few minutes less, so it has a softer, pure butter flavor rather than a hint of burn to it. But the texture is perfect as is. Great pie. Had the chocolate and the mixed berry. Has an awesome flakey crust and very good fillings that change seasonally. They have mini pies and full size pies. We got the full size and you should know that even the full ones are smaller than the average pie at only 8 inches. It's probably the best pie in the area but for $32 each you have to really want pie. The store is in a good court kind of place, which could make it hard to find if you were not aware. Loved that it was a small group because the owner, who ran the class, was able to pay attention to whether we were making the dough, etc correctly. While it cooked we enjoyed a slice of amazing banana cream pie. The owner is delightful. Provided very thorough instruction and guidance. I look forward to taking more classes! Really good pies! We got the apple and banana cream a little while back for a party and they were a hit, both really delicious. I went today and got the blueberry sour cream as a little surprise for my wife's bday. That one was decent, not quite as good as the previous two, but maybe part my own fault because I was expecting a sour cream pie more like how Heidi's Pies make them which is more like layers of blueberry and cream. I love the banana cream pie here but the last few times we got it either the crust was burnt so it gave a slightly bitter taste or there was more whip cream than filling. Unfortunately this week we got the combo of both burnt crust and barely there banana cream. If I'm going to pay almost $30 for a pie, I don't want a burnt crust and barely there banana cream filling. 'Eh' ... I've had this bakery on my list of places to try for awhile. . . I don't know. When we went, there weren't a ton of options, and it was still early in the day. Prices seemed a bit steep, as well. Just because you add artisanal to your business name. I found their selection AND flavors to be lackluster. Did I walk in expecting to buy one slice and then instead bought two? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. No one else was there, they have social distancing protocols. You do need to touch to sign a screen to sign your credit card statement, but they have hands sanitizer on the counter for you. I came here once before covid and while v empty inside, it is v cute and I would love to dine in on those cute chairs again sometime. Banana cream pie: I love real bananas and I love that synthetic banana flavor (RIP original bananas - you can Google that), so this was a hit with me. Of course, the supreme banana pie is still the one from frank fats, but $2 less for a slice this is an excellent pie. The crust on this was dense yet somehow light and buttery. It tastes like banana cream pudding with slices of slightly underripe banana, which I think pairs nicely for the overt sweetness of the pudding. I would, however, be interested in knowing if it tasted better with caramelized banana slices (like homemade dehydrated ones). Also, and this is really more so I personally remember what to expect next time I order this: I tend to get this burning sensation when I eat refined sugars (it's almost like a ginger or whiskey burn lol), and I got that with this pie at the end. Honey walnut pie: This is like a pecan pie, but with the more savory flavor with slight bitterness of walnut. I guess you could describe it as more "mature"... I still prefer it with pecans, but it was very good. The crust was like a buttery, light, crumbly shortbread tea dessert for your pie dessert, fabulous. It seems like the walnuts are roasted for a deeper, smokier kind of woody flavor, but not sure if they are soaked in salt water before roasting to further reduce their bitterness. If that's not already done, may be worth trying! (I didn't get the burning with this slice as I did with the banana. ‍) The memory of today: I ate both slices at the del paso regional park. Parked in front of the 3 hour parking sign, I could see lots of flittering blue birds, a ground squirrel, and a larger black, white, and blue streaked bird that I'm not familiar with. read more

I had this bakery bookmarked for a while in search of the best apple pie around and was grateful for the opportunity to come in this weekend for a friendly customer appreciation day with pie slice giveaways! The salted caramel apple pie is amazing!!! A comfortable crumble with just the right texture and crunch. I was a bit more unfamiliar with a salted caramel flavor tbh, but it was delicious and balanced excellently with the sweetness. Sweet but not too sweet and quite natural with the saltiness. The crust and crumble is the right amount of buttery too, not too much. The apple tastes fresh and cooked at the right tenderness. This would be great with coffee (I mean maybe I'll have some for breakfast hehe). So fresh and delightful! I also bought a slice of the chocolate cream pie, which is chilled. The texture is quite smooth and thicker than I expected. I prefer a lighter whipped type of chocolate cream pie. While this was good in its own way, I was rather disappointed that more cream was present than chocolate. Staff are friendly, and COVID-19 precautions are in place with only 2 customers allowed inside at a time. The shop is so cute and lovely! I'm so glad to have discovered and finally tried this pie shop close to where I live! I'll be back for an apple pie for the next holiday I celebrate and maybe try a slice of another fruit pie! read more
