We worked with Molly of Dinner Bell Farm for our July, 2016 wedding and could not have been happier! She had been recommended to us by a friend who had also worked with her for her wedding. Pros: -For our ceremony in the redwoods we didn't need any flowers to make the place beautiful, but we did ask for a chuppah (for the groom's Jewish culture) adorned with batik cloth and jasmine flowers (for the bride's Indonesian culture). The chuppah was made out of beautiful wood, and even though the specific species of Jasmine flowers used in Indonesian weddings was not available, Molly came through with a local flower that looked almost the same. -We both love succulents and wanted to have them be the floral look of our wedding and reception. The bouquets, corsages, and bride's hairpiece were creatively made out of succulents and all looked gorgeous -For the reception, we wanted the tables to have potted succulent arrangements as centerpieces. Molly delivered, big time! Each succulent display was different and beautiful in its own way. -The mother of the groom was very involved in the preparation of the centerpieces, acquiring and hand-painting seventeen pots for the arrangements. She and Molly worked VERY well together in making this happen. -Great value compared to some of the other florists we considered Cons: -None All in all we were very satisfied with Molly and recommend her highly! Review from my mother in law : Working with Molly was a total joy. I live across the country from her, and we communicated by phone, text or email in regards to the flowers for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding. She ended up custom-growing plants for specific containers that I mailed to her. Those centerpieces, in addition to the bridal bouquets and a custom-designed outdoor chuppah ended up making a lasting visual statement! She is a superb listener and a beautiful artist. As an artist myself, I can totally endorse Molly to get the job done in a memorable way! read more

We hired Molly for our October 2017 wedding in Nevada City and absolutely loved the flower arrangements she created for our special day. Molly is incredibly easy to work with and her prices are very reasonable. I had a hard time articulating what I wanted but was able to share some concepts with Molly and she worked to bring them to life. I loved all the arrangements she made for us and we received numerous compliments on how beautiful the flowers were. If you are getting married in the Auburn/Grass Valley/Tahoe area I highly recommend Dinner Bell Farm as your flower vendor. read more

Molly is incredibly talented. She 100% understood my vision and created something even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Extra bonus: when we got home from our honeymoon, the flowers were still alive! Thanks so much Molly. read more

We were looking for locally-grown flowers for our wedding in Walnut Creek, and we were really happy to have found Dinner Bell Farm. They were very organized--the flower availability calendar was super helpful, and Molly was really flexible and accommodating on the wedding package. At first, we were planning to just buy the flowers and have our friends do the arrangements... but since we were saving money (compared to other wedding flower places in the Bay Area) by going with Dinner Bell, we decided to go ahead and have them do the arrangements as well. Molly did a fantastic job! We had good communication beforehand about the wedding colors, what flowers we like and don' like, and the "feel" of our wedding. We had the arrangements done in mason jars, and the whole set-up looked absolutely beautiful on our tables. Everything was done according to our specification (the right colors & flowers, and we particularly wanted short arrangements that looked nice but didn't take up too much space on our crowded tables). We also ordered flowers for decorating the cake, and those turned out stunning as well. All this for a much much better rate than most other wedding flower vendors. I'd highly recommend Dinner Bell Farm for high-quality local flowers for your wedding in the Bay Area. read more

I worked with Molly over at Dinner Bell Farm for my wedding in June 2016. She was absolutely fabulous! My wedding was up at Squaw Valley, and I really wanted a wildflower-feel arrangement because a lot of our wedding was very natural. We were looking for locally-grown flowers for our wedding, and I happened to stumble on Dinner Bell Farm after some online searches. We wanted the landscape to really shine at our wedding, and Molly really helped bring out the beauty of the Sierra's mountains and foothills. The flowers absolutely popped with gorgeous color, but also looked very delicate and romantic against the Squaw Valley mountain backdrop. Her arrangements were everything I wanted, and more! During the process, we talked more extensively about the feel of our wedding, and Molly immediately understood. I felt comfortable leaving a lot of the creative control with her and I was so excited and stoked about the arrangements she came up with for myself, my bridesmaids, and the boys. She helped us with bouquets, boutineers, long-stem flowers for the matriarchs, and button-hole flowers for the boys helping out with the rings and flowers for the ceremony. She also put together a very delicate flower crown that helped me feel like a nymph goddess fairy. These guys are incredibly accommodating, very flexible with any last-minute ideas you might come up with, and put together incredible arrangements using locally-grown flowers. Dinner Bell Farm team and Molly, thank you!!! read more

Molly prepared all the floral arrangements for my August 2016 wedding and I loved the final look she came up with for everything! I am not very knowledgeable with flowers and the only starters I gave her were " white/muted colors, greenery, whatever is in season, and some succulents!" I sent her some things I liked on Pinterest and she was able to give us beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres. I also had small floral arrangements made for our reception tables where she incorporated wooden boxes to go with our mountain rustic feel and candles to make it more romantic. Everything lasted through the weekend as well! (Could've been longer, but I don't know since I live out of state.)She is very easy to communicate with via phone and email also. She was prompt with delivery and the set-up of it all looked beautiful! I didn't book a florist until only about 2 months prior to my wedding and I'm so glad things worked out with her. Thanks Molly! read more

Molly did all the flowers for our wedding in Lake Tahoe and was an absolute pleasure to work with. We highly, highly recommend working with her. She grew all the flowers on the farm - we went to visit the farm a few months before the wedding and she could not have been more welcoming, showing us around the property with our parents. It was efficient and easy communicating with her around what we wanted (we didn't give too much direction and she executed perfectly and hopefully felt able to be creative in the process - we loved the final product!) The delivery all went smoothly and we didn't have to worry about it at all in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Definitely a great choice. read more

Molly did a fantastic job on the flowers for our daughter's wedding on August 3rd at the Lodge at Tahoe Donner. Just beautiful bouquets, and the flowers on the ceremony arch were lovely! My daughter loved her bridal bouquet, and said it was exactly what she wanted! Well done, Molly! We would recommend Dinner Bell Farm to any bride wishing for heavenly floral arrangements. read more

I discovered Molly at the Tahoe City Farmer's Market, purchasing her arrangements are always the highlight of my farmer's market experience! I was so excited to find out that she does weddings! She just did our June 2018 wedding. Molly was easy to communicate with, flexible, and reasonably priced. We had her put together arrangements for bride, attendants, corsages and boutonnieres. We then purchased buckets of flowers from her to DIY the centerpieces. Everything came out beautifully and the flowers lasted weeks! Molly listened and executed all of our instructions perfectly and chimed in with helpful suggestions when we needed guidance. We got married at beautiful outdoor location and the flowers felt very natural like we picked them from the grounds. When Molly was dropping off the flowers, I was having a crisis with my seating chart that broke. She was quick to grab an emergency kit with twine, wire, etc and lend a helping hand. Book Molly, she is the best! read more

During a stay in Grass Valley, CA, I asked around to find a local farmer from whom I might buy a free range organic chicken in order to cook, eat and then use the bones, claws etc. for my chicken stock because I try to drink a cup a day of chicken stock as well as use it for other recipes. I was told the best in the area was Dinner Bell Farms so I set out trying to find them. They were advertised in the local free paper about organic resources and the ad mentioned they allowed folks to come to the farm on Fridays. I used my trusty, new, Garmin GPS and after several false attempts because Garmin told me it was on the left, but all that was on the left was a large field, no road, no building, etc. perseverance paid off. I found them down a long narrow dirt lane and was I glad I did! I met Paul and Cooper and got to see some newly arrived chicks plus picked up some claws to improve the gelatin in my stock. A week later I stopped by and bought a freshly prepared chicken and more claws and the resulting stock each time was wonderful. If you are looking for high quality, free range chickens, these are great. I cooked this chicken in a convection oven and it was moist and had a wonderful flavor. Paul also told me about their Padron peppers so I also bought some of those and they were delicious. They are at farmers markets in San Francisco, have several drop sites, and are in various stores in Northern California. I'm sure I could have found what I wanted at a store but a visit to the farm was so much more fun. Look for their products at your favorite market. read more
