I stopped by last week, for the second time and received the same, excellent, cheerful, and knowledgeable service as I did the first time. Kurt's Garden has an excellent variety of trees and bushes. I showed up with lots of pics/ideas of what I was looking for. Since I knew I was going to have a lot of questions i.e. I needed some handholding, I tried to make sure I arrived at a time with less traffic. I found their prices to be commensurate with what I was seeing online and I'd much prefer to support a local business, so I will be back! I haven't made a purchase yet, but only because I'm worried about planting right now, with this horrible heat wave.

Sad to say, of the 35 plants we had put in by Kurt's this June, 14 have now died or are on their…read moreway. Granted it was a hot. But we paid them a lot. For a full irrigation system, labour, and for expertise in plant selection. Seven ferns that were planted in the sun died right away, and those were replaced with heartier plants - all before the final payment was made. Since then, we've continued to lose plants and had poor response, taking a month to finally hear back that they won't help us. The consensus is that the holes and soil amendments were not adequate for the clay soil. He promised big holes with lots of soil, but the holes were dug not more than an inch bigger than the plants. Those we have replaced show clay right under the plants. We gave the manager multiple opportunities to resolve this situation. We offered to dig the holes and replant the seven remaining them if they would give us the replacements. Now we are doing that on our own. Buy your plants at Kurt's, but install them yourselves, or higher someone who will standby their work. They are nice people, just some unfortunate managment.

Pros: -For our ceremony in the redwoods we didn't need any flowers to make the place beautiful, but we did ask for a chuppah (for the groom's Jewish culture) adorned with batik cloth and jasmine flowers (for the bride's Indonesian culture). The chuppah was made out of beautiful wood, and even though the specific species of Jasmine flowers used in Indonesian weddings was not available, Molly came through with a local flower that looked almost the same. -We both love succulents and wanted to have them be the floral look of our wedding and reception. The bouquets, corsages, and bride's hairpiece were creatively made out of succulents and all looked gorgeous -For the reception, we wanted the tables to have potted succulent arrangements as centerpieces. Molly delivered, big time! Each succulent display was different and beautiful in its own way. -The mother of the groom was very involved in the preparation of the centerpieces, acquiring and hand-painting seventeen pots for the arrangements. She and Molly worked VERY well together in making this happen. -Great value compared to some of the other florists we considered Cons: -None All in all we were very satisfied with Molly and recommend her highly! Review from my mother in law : Working with Molly was a total joy. I live across the country from her, and we communicated by phone, text or email in regards to the flowers for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding. She ended up custom-growing plants for specific containers that I mailed to her. Those centerpieces, in addition to the bridal bouquets and a custom-designed outdoor chuppah ended up making a lasting visual statement! She is a superb listener and a beautiful artist. As an artist myself, I can totally endorse Molly to get the job done in a memorable way!

They even have holly berry trees but I'm not sure how toxic that would be with pets or young toddlers around. Most trees are 4-6 feet tall. The taller trees are located farther back on the farm. You pick your tree and the owner cuts it down, wraps it for you, and hands you a recipe for the tree. It was fun walking around and finding trees, only thing to note was that the trees were on a more medium/smaller size. Perfect for us thought. Price was great, way better than store bought trees. Usually real trees I've gotten from stores last about a month and shed like crazy. This tree we've had now, for 2 months since the beginning of December and has had almost NO shedding!!
