Sweet Relief did a fantastic job catering our kids outdoor graduation party. With both a college and high school graduate we found our guest list growing and growing, so we decided to get a caterer. I contacted several caterers in the area, most didn't respond, some didn't do outdoor BBQ type party's or weren't available as the party was only a few weeks away. Eric responded within 24 hours, he was available, and after emailing him the details for the party I had a menu and a quote by the end of the day. Eric stayed in touch, and was very accommodating as our guest list grew. He called two days before the event to confirm details, and again the day before the party. As I was leaving graduation on the day of the event I received a text that Rich, the chef for the day, was on his way to the venue, and Eric would be there shortly after. When we arrived to set up Rich was already there, he was very friendly and personable. When asked if he needed help he answered, with a smile, "Don't worry I got this." The food was ready on time, and it was absolutely delicious. As I walked through the tables our guests were stopping me to say how wonderful the food was and where did I find the caterer. The honest answer to that question is I found the caterer online. I read the reviews and hoped for the best. The food was amazing, Rich and Eric were friendly and professional, the price was reasonable. Sweet Relief provided catering for a massive, high-profile conference at the Yale School of Management that I was organizing. I spent a lot of time pulling the academic part together, but all eyes were literally on Eric - if the food and logistics went off smoothly, the event would be a success. Not only did he and his staff pull off a completely masterful performance, the logistics and service were as seamless as I've ever seen. My role in the planning was absolutely minimal - I was able to hand over the reins to Eric, and he worked his magic by coordinating with the venue, planning service and presentation, and executing a large, multi-stage event. The food was fabulous - he grilled steak and cedar-plank salmon right on site, which was both incredibly fresh and a wonderful touch for our guests. He provided 2 meals and multiple snack services, and each time the food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Nothing was ever even close to running low - Eric's staff kept a discreet yet close watch on everything and refills were almost instantaneous. Better yet, I didn't even notice them doing it. I also have to say that the presentation was really great. We had a special VIP room for our guests, and Eric and his team presented a delightful assortment of bite-sized niceties on refined cake platters and stands - I wasn't expecting it to be quite that nice to look at, so that was an added plus. For some place that we found in an internet search, never having heard of Sweet Relief nor having any knowledge of how the food was, we were so pleased with the quality and service we received for my 50th birthday party. We were looking for a Hawaiian menu for pulled pork and ribs. Other places only served BBQ style but Eric's menu sounded wonderful with orange pulled pork and pineapple ribs with mango coleslaw. He was very accommodating with the "smaller" amount of food that we wanted to order just for delivery to supplement what we were already going to have at our party. I say "smaller" because we still ended up with plenty of leftovers to enjoy for awhile and not for lack of people eating. Everyone had rave reviews for the delicious food. The prices were very reasonable, better than competitors on top of having a better selection for what we wanted. And we were not disappointed when he delivered. Eric and his staff catered our wedding a couple weeks ago at Gallaher Mansion in Norwalk and we were so impressed with the food and service. His staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, especially considering it was 90+ degrees!. They all worked very hard. The food was fantastic and we received a ton of compliments about it from our guests. Some even wanted contact information so that they could recommend him to people they know with upcoming weddings/events. It was super impressive that they were able to provide their own kitchen equipment and cook all the delicious food on site. Eric is very flexible, laid back and honest. I had the pleasure of working with Sweet Relief for a non-profit anniversary celebration back in July. It was a tall order; as we were expecting at least 300 guests (that and we couldn't make up our minds on anything we wanted to order). Eric was extraordinary! My church needed a caterer for an important event. I had booked a caterer who had backed out two weeks before the event.
