By FAR the TOP wing place in CT!…read more There are 115 flavors of wings that come out CRISPY and flavorful!! From your traditional wings to your more unique, not so basic, out of this world flavors including dessert wings! Yes s'mores and chocolate included! Jaesah was our server and she was very friendly. We have only been here once before and always stick to the basic norm, but we wanted to try something different. She gave many different unique flavors that were her favorite! To start we got a southern tier pumpqueen cider with a sugared rim and a ciderboys pressed cider. Both drinks were very good for this festive season For the wings, we chose the maple butter bacon, and the Cajun butter garlic bacon with a side of curly fries. We also got the mango pineapple habanero wings to go The maple butter bacon was so good! A nice twist for the sweet and salty flavors! The Cajun garlic butter bacon was a tad bit salty, and definitely packed with garlic and salty bacon flavor. This was very good but a tad bit salty. The mango pineapple habanero wings we got to go but I had to try one! They were delicious. A nice pair to the sweet and spicy kick it had I have not ventured in the dessert section so I can't comment on that but all of their wings I have had are very good and flavorful! They have an extensive menu, but I always come for the wings!!

We were turned away because my cousin is 20. If we were able to provide proof of guardianship, we would have been allowed in. Who walks into a restaurant with legal papers showing you are the guardian?? When we asked the waitress why we couldn't just eat, she was very dismissive, rude and did not explain why this is their rule, she simply stated "its a cafe liquor license". My husband and I have been here over a dozen times and have only been carded half of the time, and we've ordered alcohol everytime. Riddle me that. There has never been any expectation to be 21 to just walk in. All of a sudden we can't let a 20 year old just get lunch with a water? I'm sure they got themselves into an underage drinking disaster but that shouldn't affect everyone else. I understand the rules are written on the website, but we've never had an issue previously so why would I think to check if I needed to bring guardianship paperwork with me? The entire experience was bizarre and unappreciated. We will not be back ever.

I heard so many amazing things about Heritage Spice so I absolutely had to check it out! Also I friend of mine recently catered from Heritage Spice and the food was delicious (I loved the jolllof. It had the perfect smoky party Jollof flavor). I'll start off by saying the menu items are pricey and the prices nearly turned me away...but the food was INCREDIBLE! I seldomly come across a Nigerian restaurant that fully hits the mark on flavors and keeps everything true to the culture. I tried the egusi soup with goat meat and fufu. The stew had a generous amount of goat meat and the egusi tasted very fresh. There was a good level of heat without it being overly spicy. The spices in the stew reminded me of my grandmas home cooking. Lastly, the fufu itself was soft and tasted very fresh as well. The egusi stew truly hit the spot and was the highlight of my work week. Overall 8.5/10 for the egusi and fufu (8/10 for the jollof I tried at a catered event and 10/10 for the puff puff I tried at a catered event). I also ordered the food on Grubhub so that most likely inflated the prices. I'm excited to try out other items on their menu! When I went to the restaurant I was hoping to also get the puff puff because I tried their puff puff at a catered event but I was told they only sell puff puff on Sundays or do pre orders for specialty items like puff puff or meat pie.

Parking can be a little crazy. Luckily for my friend, this was not a parallel parking situation. The shop is right over the bridge when you come into Shelton, but you need to take a trip around the block to get to the parking area. Once you park, you head toward the bridge and walk up the sidewalk to the shop. Once in, you will see a counter with a menu board for ordering. The shop is small and only offers two bistro tables in the window. The seating is very tight, bigger people might have a problem getting comfortable. We were fortunate enough to snag a table on this visit. The food is offered to go or dine in. The portions are large and the pricing is reasonable. The default way of cooking the pierogi is fried. If asked they offer it other ways, but try it fried. You won't be disappointed. There were many flavors offered but I went more traditional with the 3 pierogi (sauerkraut and mushroom), kielbasa and sauerkraut . My friend got the 6 pc Buffalo Chicken. Both were very good. I had leftovers that I would've been able to enjoy if my son hadn't gotten to them first! I plan to go back soon. I can't wait to try other flavors, maybe even a sweet one. My only wish would be for a larger seating area. I know that my family would love this place.
