Milton, Florida has a lengthy history that dates back to the early 1800's and has been known by various names such as Hell-Town, Hard Scrabble, Scratch Ankle (because of the briars and bramble that would scratch people's ankles) and more. During the Civil War, Milton was burned by the retreating Confederate forces trying to escape Union capture and to prevent Milton's industries from falling into Union control. Milton has grown a bit since I was last here and I think that this is a positive thing. I enjoyed my time in Milton and really enjoyed my time at their Riverwalk.
