They have Ice cream, fudge, hot sandwiches and oh my the pecan pie. And my favorite, pecan brittle. Also a whole line up of trinkets, do-dads, t-shirts and a host of many other items. Don't forget to go upstairs. You'll have a perfect crows nest view of how all the Pecan Magic is made. Chocolate covered, Carmel or candy coated and many more. Ample parking with many shade trees, rocking chairs, clean restrooms and even a very nice pet station. A perfect way to take a break from your highway driving. Oh and FYI, both pronunciations are correct. It depends what part of the country you're from. lol

Are you, or is someone you know inexplicably drawn to pecans in such a way that you find it hard to focus and get through your day to day life? If any of those things describe you, this is your place. They have all the pecans, all the pecan accessories, and are doing more with pecans than Bubba Gump did with shrimp. It's no joke. Brittle? Pie? Ice cream? Pralines? Logs? Yes. All of those, and that's not even the tip of the iceberg. There are tshirts, some pecan-related home decor, maybe onesies for the little pecan lovers in your life, and all sorts of other things I cant exactly recall off the top of my head. There's a Dolly Parton section ffs. Go just for that even if you don't like pecans. She's a national treasure and deserves your respect. Everyone is cool, parking is abundant, restrooms are clean, food is available, and of course there's more pecan related activity going on here than any place you've ever been. I guarantee it. It's right off the freeway. Go to it. Soak it in. Get some brittle. You'll love it.

BBQ is a gem of the American countryside dining. Partially, because the only other alternative is…read moretypically fast food. But, that would not be a fair description of this tradition: BBQ is an incredible style of cooking and spots like this represent this tradition well. BBQ 65 is conveniently located right off the interstate in a gas station in a saloon like building that has a beautiful character from the outside. Open since 2010s, this spot has started to earn its place in the BBQ world, albeit being newer to it. There is an indoor seating inside near the gas station shop aisles. The ribs are cooked well with a nice wood profile, but neither very delicate nor particularly notable for their flavor of the meat itself, with smoke notes dominating. The quality of pork itself and the slightly tougher preparation could be better to rival Alabama's best. The BBQ sauce is loaded up with vinegar, completely overpowering the meat if consumed together, although to be fair, this may be a matter of preference for some BBQ lovers. The star of the show is potato salad which was perfectly balanced on its acidity, sweetness and overall flavor. As a whole, BBQ 65 is a pleasant stop to experience some traditional southern cooking and support a local business instead of tossing money into another "by the exit" fast food chain.

Went to Prevail for breakfast while visiting Montgomery. Beautiful location, and very quiet area…read moreduring the morning(except the alarm that was blaring, I'm sure it doesn't happen often.) The fresh pastries looked great, and Alex patiently informed me about local Conecuh sausage, which I proceeded to order the Conecuh croissant. It was delicious! The Honey Coffee with Macadamia Nut Milk had good, strong coffee with a little sweetness, which is my preference. The fruit cups were good too, but seemed to attract the fruit flies. The ambience is so great! You can sit quietly in a corner to work or read, or have joy and laughter close by. The employees are friendly and the customers are considerate too. I suppose it's just the South. My only qualm is that it would be great if they open earlier than 7am. There were a few customers waiting, including me, that were at door before opening time.

I had a great experience at this spot. The baristas were very nice and pleasant. If you are ever in the downtown area, you should definitely make a stop!
