Sweet Paradise = part Italian grocery store/bakery! Complete with a hot/prepared food section. I wasn't sure about this place 'cause there weren't that many reviews and the existing ones are dated, but totally 5*! I got 3 bakery items: Tiramisu, Sicilian Cannoli, & a Peanut butter/Chocolate Cheesecake and all 3 of them were super fresh! Tiramisu was like homemade! Light and fluffy, not overly sweet. And I was able to taste the coffee liquor. Marscapone/cheese filling was LEGIT, not that cheap, canned whipping cream! Cannoli shell was still crispy. Again, filling was nice, light, and not too sweet. Pb/Choco Cheesecake was a bit richer, but still moist and not dried out from the fridge. Gf got a Cream Horn (flaky pastry shell) and she said it was nice and fresh as well. I usually avoid this pastry like the plague because it's usually stale AF. I'd *definitely* go back especially for the tiramisu (which not many ppl get right) and the cannoli!!! read more

If I could give them a 0 rating I would do that. They have the most disorganized and apathetic system in place. I placed a birthday cake order as a gift for my friend's son with them and when I called in to confirm delivery I was told that there was no record of the order!! That is on the day of the birthday !! Had to place a rush uber eats order - they ruined the evening and had the gall to suggest that the recipient which is the person whose birthday it is can come into the store and check up on the order - really!! And to top it all I was told to call the next morning to track the order as the staff at the time confirmed with the "owner" that there was nothing they could do now. The next morning when I called to ask for a refund I was told by the "owner" the cake's been delivered but we cannot give you a confirmation as we dont keep records which shady as hell- who runs a business without any record keeping !! Also spun off yelling at me that "we have 3 owners so if our staff says they called the owner and were told that there's no order it must be the others who said so not me" ....So essentially its a shitty establishment that has no empathy for their customers and makes sure that they take no responsibility for their mess-ups. From what I was told it was my problem that they could not track the order. At no point in the conversation did I get any sort of apology or even an understanding tone. It was- this is our system and if you get screwed so be it !! Beware you may be the next one treated as s***.Save yourself the trouble there are better bakeries around and businesses that'll value you and be cognizant that once they take an order and charge you it's a commitment they need to make good on. Do not trust them with your important occasions -they will ruin them and blame you!! And lastly, no amount of paid reviews and social mgmt. will make right the horrid service and customer experience that you dish out. read more

Ok so Sweet Paradise has been around since I was a kid (and probably even longer!) It is a staple in Hamilton and if you are from Hamilton or have lived in Hamilton for some amount of years - you know Sweet Paradise! They have everything - yes everything, and it is all freshly made! Bread, buns, cakes, pastries, doughnuts, pizza...to frozen foods that were made fresh, sauces, candies and more! Personally I go there for the pizza, doughnuts, and sweet stuff for the most part. I love their fresh pizza - it is my go to for picking up a little pizza for friends and family. I like their mini doughnuts when you want to try a bunch of flavours. It's hard to grab the regular sized doughnuts unless you get there earlier in the day - so popular! Their pastry counter is to die for - they specialize in different items for different holidays too. Since it is close to Easter they are doing a Mini Egg creations - cookies, brownies, cupcakes, tarts...what more could you want!? Sweet Paradise has never failed in the freshness department or the flavour department - it also totally delivers in the pricing. I find their prices affordable for fresh and local ingredients. If you like to eat food you can feel good about - visit this place! Also - the staff are so fun and friendly every time I visit. They make conversation, are happy to tell you about all their new items, and they love making suggestions and telling you their favourite treats. Have been there once - I was only person in the store other than 5 staff members. Standing in front of the counter and in plain sight, I waited while staff chatted. At times across the room past me. After 10 long minutes (yes 10, I checked), without so much as an acknowledgement, I finally left. (No one asked what I wanted or can I help you etc). I've been here a few times, and like others, I also can't figure out why this place is so popular. The prices are a bit too high, but they do have quite a selection of different breads baked fresh every day. I go for the donuts, they make a good glazed twist, though I wish they would have more selection of those as they only seem to have half a dozen different kinds. Me, My wife and kids can't eat regular store bought bread or buns any more, (My kids had to eat store bought bread once because my wife and I were sick, they didn't eat it said it smelled funny and tasted old) I'm a very pickie when it comes to food And I never write reviews, I also don't want to damage my business reputation. It's based on my word, trust and truth. But they have: Best bread, Best deli, Best buns, Best Pasta sauce, Best sausage and beef rolls, Best bread crumbs, Best Honey, Love the olive cart. U Have to try the cheese stuffed olives and garlic stuffed olives crazy good. Amazing selection of cheeses and best prices I've been able to find. Haven't tried the majority of the premade stuff. NOT because it didn't look good. Other than sausage and beef rolls,(because I love them as a snack) I make most meals homemade. What I have tried was great. Amazing staff, always happy and friendly. Prices are great too. Love the new look too. I've never had one bad, stail, or expired item EVER. (That's rare in a store these days) I'll be there at least every other day until I move or die. This is one of my favorite shops, to go get fresh bread for the week. The costumer service is really good, I love the way how they treat their customers. Worst bakery and staff I have ever seen. I ordered a custom cake which was paid in full and when I saw what they made I was furious. They gave no apologies or refund. The owners wife called me an entitled bitch and said there was nothing she would do to fix it and asked me to leave. I hope they close down before the health department shuts them down. read more

Sweet paradise makes hands down the best veal sandwich I have ever had! I got mine fully loaded with sweet peppers, mushrooms etc.

Just had one of our Christmas parties catered by them. Food was very good, temperature was good. Food was not dry. We will continue to use them for future events. read more
