12/10 for me. little hole in the wall service that packs a big punch. i ordered grilled pork Bahn mi and from the packaging to the Vietnamese aromatics and spices had me return the same day for another order. out of country for business.. from the US and my dad is Vietnamese. this place does not disappoint

Vegan banh mi (lemon grass tofu and vegan sauce, plus all the fixings)

I was pleasantly surprised to get the best banh mi I've ever had from here. I've had their corned beef sandwich (also very good) but I have to be "in the mood" for corned beef sandwiches and took a chance on their banh mi. We had the classic, beef, vegan and pork belly options. The baguette is fresh, and the toppings and meat are generous and balanced. A good portion size to be filling (just shy of a footlong? I'm terrible at eyeballing size)..All came warm (I think the baguette was fresh from the oven or lightly toasted). Place is clean and the online order/pick up option was super easy (you can pay at pick up), which is a bonus these days.

Disappointed! The gravy was packaged separately and you had to pour yourself and tasted so bad. This little box costs $8

Pretty good sized sandwiches at decent prices.. look at my picture, the meat to bread ratio... wow! The only thing I wished was different were the sides that were accompanied. The pickle wasn't as crunchy as I expected and the coleslaw was mediocre, similar to a coleslaw you find at the deli section of the supermarket. Beef brisket was nice, but I think a thicker slice of meat and less of a stack would make it even better for my liking.

Ordered a québécois poutine. Very average, small portion and over-priced. The place itself doesn't feel very welcoming. The smell of grease is overwhelming.

The sandwiches are huge. Best smoked meat sandwich I have had since I left Montreal as a kid.

I grew up in Montreal where smoked meat sandwiches were on every corner and were stacked to almost upholdable (is that a word?). Well I found this small place in downtown Burlington Ontario and it's just like the city restaurants in Montreal (aka 1960's). The sandwiches are huge. We got the double date combo. Great value. Smoked meat was juicy and on white rye like it's supposed to be. Pickle was okay.

two halves of a corned beef sandwich

Great sandwich, tons of meat, very filling! Needs a pickle though but would recommend!

The shrimp dumpling, pork dumpling and sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf were really good. They didn't have miso soup but the tom yum soup was weird with a beefy msg soup taste to it. The general tso chicken and sweet & sour chicken lacked sauce and flavor. Also, there was too much batter. The braised beef was good flavor and would good with rice noodles. The fried coconut shrimp and sweet potato fries were delicious. The vegetable dishes were pretty bad because some may not like that they were quite crunchy and the carrots had a bad taste. The server told us it was Japanese cheesecake but it wasn't. It was still pretty good though. Said they had cappuccino and when asked we were told it was espresso. The seaweed salad was strange. didn't have the flavor like most and was padded with the additional pieces of lettuce.wth.. The food was a hit and miss. Some were good and some not so good. Not the best food in my humble opinion. Sashimi sushi is very limited in choices and were sold by the piece not included in the AYCE. The ordering system was by talking to the server and a menu they had provided and was held in a menu cover that originally was for the Pickle Barrel restaurant. Wtf, how ridiculous is that. The server was decent but sure seemed like she could improve a little in some aspects of the entire interaction times with her. Beautifully decorated place but it felt very dark and the overhead lights were off for 90% of th time we were there. They finally turned them on though The music was a bit loud and made it hard to have a conversation with others. The tables are for 2 and placed together to make it table for 4. The dishes were kinda big so took up a lot of space. In conclusion, it was an okay place and food experience . The food felt like it was prepared by not fully trained chefs but the walls were very pretty images but music was loud. i would go back if invited but only have some of their food dishes that were good.

Nice selection on the menu and the atmosphere was good but the food sucks. The dim-sum dishes were passable, but the main courses were terrible. They were tasteless, one burnt, and they lacked imagination in the presentation. The dishes did not taste like Asian food at all, so I would guess they don't even have an Asian cook. I was disappointed and don't plan to go back, unless I could be assured the food has improved. I would not recommend going to the Republik Asian Eatery and Bar, Burlington, Ontario.

This restaurant was recommended to us from Naomi at Strewn Winery…read more We asked if there was a dress code as we were underdressed due to the fact we had just spent the day packing for our camping trip and driving to Canada. She assured us not to worry as the owners are very kind and it was a place you could dress up but accept casual wear as well. So off we went. Pulling in we saw it was a restaurant attached to the Orchid Hotel. And old but beautiful looking home converted to a hotel/restaurant. Once inside I saw white linen table cloths with nice stem ware and crisp white napkins and silverware. I looked at my sister and said I think we are underdressed lol. It was a Thursday around 5 pm, no reservation but it wasn't super busy yet so we were immediately seated. The host was kind, and put two tables together for our party of 5. The menu was simple which I liked. We ordered appetizers to start, the spring rolls and the crab cakes. I apologize for not taking pictures, I was tired and forgot so I'll just say they were delicious. Sidenote: I don't like seafood but one taste of the crab cake and I could have eaten both cakes myself! So very good! For the main course I ordered the Thai chicken coconut curry which had a side of rice. My hubby ordered the salmon with rice and vegetables. From the first bite we both let out yummy noises. We each took a bite of each other's food and I can say the salmon was absolutely delicious as was my curry dish. The portion sizes were great. We were both so full. My brother in law got the lamb-it looked like it was cooked perfectly and he said it was delicious. My sister got the fish and chips-it came with a couple different sauces but all she wanted was tartar sauce and ketchup. She didn't ask if they had any because she didn't want to offend the chef lol. My niece got a beautiful big salad and enjoyed it but neither enjoyed their pics as much as us other 3 did lol. The host was engaging, he explained that it's a family run business for the last 37 yrs and the last 15 years he and his brother and mother have been running it alone. His mom runs the hotel and he and his brother run the restaurant. I recommend eating here if you're ever in the area.

I think it is family run as the mom was in and out of the kitchen and the waiter look related. The service was great, food was plentiful and unique, but make a reservation or you'll be sorry!

There are different locations throughout the GTA, serving the exact same menu and concept. Service is fast and efficient. You order on your phone by scanning the QR code on the table. Food comes out within ~5 minutes - very fast! The menu is quite extensive. They have a wide variety of teppanyaki rice sets available, as well as noodles, mini hot pot (including individual servings), and various drinks and Asian desserts. I love that you can customize each dish by adding the add-ons (additional ingredients). You can even "build your own teppanyaki set" by choosing the carbs, sauce, protein(s), and add-ons (including vegetables). We only tried the teppanyaki rice sets this time around. The Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables consisted of cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, and corn. This was listed under "snacks" category, and we thought it would be a good veggie dish accompaniment to the other main dishes. I found it to be very salty and saucy. It had an aftertaste that I didn't really like. The pieces of green pepper, zucchini, and mushrooms were very small, that you could barely taste them. It was mostly white cabbage shreds and corn. The 3 teppanyaki rice sets (including one deluxe set) were good. The Jumbo Unagi Teppanyaki Rice was one of my favourites - the unagi there was "jumbo" indeed (biggest and longest I had ever seen that was served with a rice set in a restaurant). I liked that it wasn't doused with too much unagi sauce wich tends to be sweet and sticky. There was a good amount of meat in the unagi as well. Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set and Seafood Rice Set (salmon, scallops, shrimps) were also decent. The Seafood Rice Set (considered a deluxe menu item) had a bigger and better salmon compared to the thin salmon slices in the Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set. The shrimps and scallops were pretty good (there were more shrimps than scallops). All dishes came with corn and green onion, and you can choose to add extra add-ons such as cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, garlic bits, extra protein, etc. As garlic lovers, we added extra garlic bits to every teppanyaki set that we ordered. Overall, good food and fast service. I wish the Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables dish wasn't so salty, and came with more / bigger pieces of the actual vegetables rather than just mostly corn. But the other teppanyaki rice sets were good value.

I've been wanting to try their Sicilian-style pizza for quite some time, and my birthday cookie…read morereward finally gave me the perfect excuse to celebrate. They already have a fantastic thin-crust pizza, so I asked if they could make the Sicilian style with the muffuletta toppings. No problem at all. It took a little longer than expected (ordered for 4:45, ready at 5:00), but it was absolutely worth the wait. Ordering is easy online or by phone. If you get voicemail, just call back - they're probably on the phone with another customer. Now, about that pizza. The thick Sicilian crust had the perfect chew: light and airy inside with a crisp, golden bottom. Every bite was loaded with the bold salty toppings, bringing a savory, slight spice/pickled kick that paired perfectly with the oils and melted cheese. The toppings reached edge to edge, creating a pizza that was hearty, flavorful, and impossible to put down. Please pencil in a visit to The Deli on a Wednesday to grab one of their pizzas. I do recommend ordering ahead to claim your dough. This version reads like a Yelp review and really highlights the texture and flavor of a loaded Sicilian pie.
