Cara is awesome. My son felt comfortable during the whole ear piercing process and is extremely happy with how his earring turned out. While shopping around for different shops to get the lobe piercings done, Cara was very timely and responsive, answering many questions. We ended up preordering on specific jewelry, so she helped figure out our final orders in the end we put a deposit for the preorder jewelry plus a booking deposit when we set up the appointment. Prior to the appointment, I recovered email and text confirmations and reminders. When arriving and checking in for the appointment, Cara greeted us and let us know she was going to finish up setting and doing a final sterilization. The shop was clean, vibrant, and nicely decorated. She had a good inventory of jewelry but it was nice that she was able to preorder what my son wanted. It was nice to have online booking available but due to high demand they have restrictions to what they offer on the weekend. I was lucky enough to get in due to a cancellation. I didn't really get the level of service I was hoping to when coming to the store. It was the first time I've changed my nose ring since getting it pierced so I asked about different sizes and metals and her response was specific to pricing only. I didn't care about price just what would be best suited for my skin. Cara did my 8 year old daughter's ear piercing. It was such a great first time experience for her! We had 30min allotted for her. We started off her appointment by picking her earrings from a wide variety. She then sterilized the earrings, as well as prepped the area where she will do the piercing. Once she was ready, she helped my daughter relax by doing some deep breathing with her, which I really appreciated because it helped with her nerves. This was my first ever piercing so I really appreciated Cara's attention to detail and her narration through the entire process, down to how she was performing the cleaning of tools. Our appointment started timely and she had us pick from an assortment of earrings to be used for the piercing. When I brought this up, the piercer's demeanor seemed to noticeably change and she appeared irritated. I even told her that if it complicated things or threw off the appointment we could skip it. When she showed me jewelry and I lightly touched one of the pieces, her responses again felt angry. The interaction became uncomfortable enough that I asked her directly if she was upset with me. I asked if she had ever received feedback before about how her attitude might come across to customers. She said she hadn't. After leaving, I noticed that another Yelp review seemed to mention similar experiences. The owner later told me that asking about the partially closed piercing had "thrown off her day," which was surprising to hear given that I was simply asking about a service they offer. My honest review is this place is overpriced and the piercer could do a much better job at helping customers pick jewelry. Any other piercer would advise customers against a piece of jewelry if it would interfere with healing because it moves too much or spins and gets caught on clothes, bedding you name it- but I didn't have that experience here. Instead was encouraged to do it- and now I feel like it was a way to offload unsold inventory onto me. Expressed my disappointment with the jewelry and how it snags on everything the day after to the piercer, and was told I had to buy new jewelry if I didn't like it and I would have to wait 3 months to change it. If you still decide to go here, don't lol. And if you do- don't get the snake. Not to mention the hole she made in my lobe was misaligned with my other lobe piercings and looks so off. She replaced the conch jewelry I had with the wrong size for my ear (too small) and it became inflamed the next day-- when it hasn't bothered me in the 5 years prior to that! I had to put my old jewelry in my conch to stop the swelling. Pretty disappointed with this experience after being charged $500 for this debacle. My wife and kids were so happy I found this place! I found a real winner! My 8-year-old daughter's first ear piercing went so well. I booked through Cara's website, which was intuitive and easy on my phone. Make sure to put down double piercings if you want both sides. The space was clean and well-lit, and her license issued by San Mateo County was proudly on display. As an adult who has never gotten a piercing before, I'm super glad to have chosen Cara at Sweet November Piercing! The studio is quaint and clean, and tucked away with a convenient private parking lot. I had scheduled a double ear piercing (very easy through online booking). Overall, I had an amazing experience getting my ears pierced at Sweet November Piercing. Location: Parking is plentiful and right in front on the business offices, so it was super easy to get in and out of the appointment. Right upon entering, the clients ahead of me were finishing up and everybody had such a warm & welcoming vibe. We even perused the jewelry selection together. Jewelry: Cara helped me narrow down jewelers pieces that I liked, and offered valuable advice on which pieces would look best together while fitting the anatomy of my ear. I had so many questions about which materials are best for piercings (the best is what she offers-implant grade titanium or 14k gold). I had a pretty bad reaction to a cartilage piercing in my early 20s, and Cara was so patient answering my questions and giving advice on aftercare. Process: The piercing process itself was seamless. We got all 3 piercings done super efficiently and there was minimal pain, like getting a flu shot. Prior to getting pierced, Cara also marked where the piercings would be, used a measuring tool to make sure that the placement was even on both ears, and got my approval.
