I always drive past this place and its always so well decorated out front, so I stopped in to grab a latte with my sister. She had been talking about this tic tok she saw of a Carrot Cake Latte and wanted to see if they still carried it. Sadly, they didnt have it; as the flavors change but we opted to try what they had available. We both tried the Banana Pudding Frap and I also tried the Salted Caramel Pistacio Latte. I had my frap w/ coconut milk and the latte with almond milk. The latte was okay. I loved the pistacio cold foam. If you love salty yet sweet drinks, you'll enjoy it. I did catch a sip of heavy salt from the actual pistacio nuts they put on top but the sweet cold foam taste that followed help settle all the salt. It was just okay for me. However, the banana pudding frap was AMAZING. Omg it literally taste like a banana pudding milkshake. I'm so glad the server recommended it. She was so sweet and I appreciated her honesty when I asked her about the different flavors listed. We sat in the back to drink our drinks and I love how they created a cute little nook type seating area for customers with so many old school board games available to use. The customer service has gotten better over the years. The amount of "rules" for ordering is completely ridiculous and off putting. I arrived early to avoid the wait to make my dessert selection. The bakery does not take preorders for their holiday desserts so it's first come first serve. This year I went with a grab and go cake and an apple pie. The grab and go cakes were not as festive looking as last year, but they had plenty of cakes to choose from. I was visiting Delaware for Thanksgiving and looked high and low for cute cafés that served macaroons in Townsend and this was the only lovely restaurant that came up. We were pleasantly surprised by the holiday decorations outside that were perfect for a photo op. There was an outside dining area, but the only tables that we saw inside were for a classroom that was closed off. The café was pretty busy with visitors, but the pace weny by smoothly. The only reason I drove 30mi one way is because of positive yelp reviews and it said dogs allowed. Upon entering, they very rudely said my pet wasn't allowed and rushed me out. The place looked appealing and very boutique like. There was an area to sit on the side. The whole vibe of the place was upscale, creative and just what I was looking for. They had ready to go cakes in the refrigerated area. There were a variety to choose from in colors, flavors and sizes. They looked way more expensive than the price tag revealed. The staff was courteous and waited while we picked out some more things to purchase in the glass area in front of the register. There were people coming in and out of the store and staffed enough that there was virtually no wait. They wrote on our cake and we were on our way. We've been with this shop since it started in a converted house in 2014. Now that we've moved to another state, we always make a point to stop here anytime we come to visit. They have keto and traditional pastries and desserts for grab and go but always have an AMAZING variety and selection. A few times in the past we have used their custom services and they never disappoint. The process is super easy and the communication was great. Melissa and her senior staff make THE best tasting cakes and the detail is really intricate. They also have a coffee bar and a seating area. Pre-COVID, they offered classes in the seating area and they were always fun! Our recent visit, we picked up a couple of treats and as usual - they were scrumptious but the customer service was a little short. I am not a big donuts, or biscotti, or cupcakes, or cake pops fan, or cookie dough which this places offers. But I didn't go it for those things. I went in to see their keto brownies because I'm doing the diet. So I bought two of them thinking I could have them for lunch instead of another burger. Sad to say I was less than impressed with them. The brownies looked like lumps of coal. I thought I could get past they way they look. I was hungry after all. The ones with walnut options were exact same as the regular with raw walnuts thrown on top. Took a bite and immediately regretted it. It was dry, crumbly, and nothing like a brownie. I get that keto sweets are generally made with almond flour, and would not always taste like the real thing. Though I expected it to be somewhat moist, and relatively fudgy. Instead, these had the texture of a sawdust, they had no flavor of either chocolate or vanilla. They didn't even taste sweet at all. Maybe they forgot to add the sweetener. I don't know. Maybe it's just old. But it's not good. Sorry guys. Try a different recipe next time. I'm giving 3 stars for the place and atmosphere. It's beautiful and the smell of coffee was nice. The staff were nice and attentive. The guy gets 5 stars in my opinion. The keto brownies get zero stars. My advice: Don't offer anything to your customers you didn't taste yourself. read more

I have to start off by saying my family and I have been customers of this business for YEARS and I am genuinely so sad at this experience. We come in super often and always buy tons of desserts. We've also bought several cakes for special occasions. This time we decided to do a special order cake for a family members graduation. I tried calling multiple times to reach someone, but the business doesn't accept phone calls. Okay, fine. I went through their online website and filled out a request slip. I was then able to email back and forth with Melissa over several WEEKS about the cake, sizing, what we wanted etc. She told me that it was a busy time of year given Mother's Day, but that we should still be able to receive our cake. I told her that was great and tried to pay my deposit asap as I knew this was their busy season. Several days and emails went by where I did not receive a response. I finally decided to go in person to try and pay the deposit and lock in our spot, only to be turned away at the register and told to wait for the email. Finally, the email came and I was able to pay the deposit. We settled on the details of the cake with the reference photos and she assured me it would be done in time. About a week before the event I emailed her asking for a sketch or some sort of idea of what the cake will look like. She said that due to her being too busy, she was unable to provide me a sketch but gave a breakdown of what the cake would look like. I said that was fine given my years long history and trust with this business. On the day we went to pick up the cake, it looked nothing like what we imagined. There were pieces loose and broken, things coming off IN THE STORE, the book was lumpy, the scales off, the gavel looks like it's melting into the stand itself and so many other things. When I brought my concerns up to Melissa she was very dismissive. She kept telling me" well I think it looks fine" despite the numerous concerns that I, as well as my family members in the store, raised. I told her I was unhappy given the high price of the cake and the fact that it looked half assed. Her excuse was "we were busy and rushed this cake". She then proceeded to hang up on me and threw my sister's phone back at her. We then had my brother come to the store where she attempted to gaslight him as well. That was when he saw the pole broken and falling off the cake. She then FINALLY took it into the back to ATTEMPT to fix this mess of a cake and it still looks iffy. Words cannot describe how disappointed my family and I are at her actions and lack of accountability. We did not order a rushed and half assed cake. If you were too busy to do it, you should've said so from the beginning. If you did not have the skill to replicate what I showed you in the photo, you should've said so from the beginning. If you do not have the nerve to handle constructive criticism from your CUSTOMERS, then you do not need to run a business or serve the public. This ENTIRE situation was caused by her lack of communication. Once again, IF YOU WERE TOO BUSY TO DO IT CORRECTLY, YOU COULD'VE TOLD US FROM THE BEGINNING!!! There was no reason to try to rush in a cake you did not have the time for. "Oh we're usually booked out for months" . Then why did you accept my order? You could've turned us down and we would've found another baker, no big deal. Or just gotten one of the premade cakes in the fridge. But the fact that you accepted our order, took my money, rushed this cake with tons of imperfections, tried to GASLIGHT me into thinking it looks good, hung up on me mid conversation and threw my sister's phone across the counter, and couldn't even be bothered to apologize to customers who have been patronizing your business for YEARS is extremely EXTREMELY disappointing. If you want to buy anything from this business, please keep all this in mind when placing an order here. If your customer is unhappy, your response should not be to get an attitude, gaslight them, and throw their possessions. To be completely honest, her behavior is what caused me to write this review, not even the cake itself. read more

Price 4/5: it's not the most affordable bakery, not considering what they put out it's definitely worth the cost. 18 cupcakes was $50. Their pricing is laid out online and if you're confused just email the owner theough the website. Service 4/5: it's a little slow to order because they're busy and don't have a lot of support staff out front. The line gets confusing since the room is small.
