GLUTEN ALLERGY ALERT!!! You will risk contamination or worse be asked to pay for the kitchen's mistake. This morning my family came for breakfast and we chose this cafe specifically for their advertised gluten-free options, as my spouse is highly sensitive. Her breakfast was served with two massive pieces of white toast covering her food and gluten-free toast served on the side. An attractive plate that would have created a days worth of illness. When we advised the server of the mistake, she came back to the table informing us the manager/head-chef/owner expected us to purchase another dish. That's right. They wanted me to pay for their mistake. When I spoke to the owner, she showed me the kitchen ticket to try to explain this was not her mistake. She actually went so far to try to blame me, my spouse, and then her own staff and doubled down on my having to re-purchase their error. I get understaffing. I get being over worked. I even advocate throwing out unruly customers (god knows I must have looked like one for how I reacted to this treatment). I can accept mistakes, acknowledge them, correct them and move on. But when your restaurant makes a food safety mistake (for a service that is an advertised specialty), then victim blames the customer and tries to CHARGE me for their mistake. One star is too kind. Have gluten sensitivities. Stay away. This type of dismissiveness is what leads to sick customers. read more

Service is exceedingly slow, the person behind the cash register was very confused with the most simple orders, totally forgot about substituting anything. Tried to order decaf but she said it would take 20 minutes to brew! Manager told the cash register girl to stop taking orders because the kitchen was backed up, she just walked away leaving, the customers behind us not knowing they were Not going to be able to place their orders anytime soon! Very busy cafe with an unbelievably energetic and efficient woman who was taking orders from the people lined up, managing to keep an eye on the meals coming out to from the kitchen and delivering them to the correct table. She should be payed double salary! My challah French toast was delicious and my sister in law's quiche was very creamy and tasty. Traveling the Kangamangus back from Loon to Maine, we stopped into this cute little cafe for breakfast. The food is really delicious. Everything tasted so fresh. My children split a heaping plate of blueberry pancakes which at under $4.00 was a great deal. I had bacon and eggs. The bacon was the standout the there. We got a blueberry muffin for the table which tasted like it was baked that morning. Coffee was fresh and rich. I was a little surprised by the serve yourself situation, but really...no worries. Thanks to Yelp for not getting my hopes up about this place. First of all, what's going on with the service? I understand that making things by hand takes time. I'm down with that. But getting to the front of the line shouldn't take 15 minutes with one family of 4 in front of us. But I passed the time by reading and rereading the rude sign (about waiting) that was posted on the bakery case. The prices are fine. The iced coffee was disappointing (tasted kind of "dirty"- yesterday's leftover coffee over ice? Coffee ice cubes were a great idea. Points for those. Since I don't have celiac disease I didn't need gluten free bread products. But there must be a lot of celiac disease sufferers in this area because *everywhere* around here has gluten free stuff. read more

We love this place. The format is to order at the counter and they will bring your food. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommend the breakfast sandwiches, burritos, and any of the baked goods. Coffee is also way better than DD. Last trip up we ate breakfast there every morning. Can get pretty busy mid-morning but if you're not in a rush it's worth the wait! read more

It's nice that's there's outdoor seating available . I was happy about that when we first walked in. We were told to take a look at the menu then order at the counter. The lady behind the counter wasn't very polite, just a straight face and asked "how can I help"?. We ordered and sat outside. We had the dark roast coffee and medium roast coffee, both tasted like gas station coffee.. If you're in to that. We had the veggie scramble with a side of home fries and a valley omelette with a pancake, which came with toast and home fries. The home fries was not edible, too much salt. The omelettes were flavorless. The toast was too hard. The pancake was ok but a little too brown/over cooked. After throwing away the home fries and untouched toast, we were told to buss our own tables ( which I don't mind) but seems very impersonal after a cold greeting at the counter. Also this was the most expensive breakfast we've had in North Conway. There are better and cheaper options available. There's no reason to go back. read more

While the employees were very kind, we had a poor experience at Sweet Maple Cafe. To start, the employees instruct you to order and pay before you even sit down. Then, they brought us our food and the portions were very small. I got the veggie panini, and asked for LIGHT cheese and LIGHT mayo, and instead i got neither of those things. Instead, i got about 3 small pieces of onion and 2 slices of tomato sandwiched between 2 very small piece's of bread. On top of that, i ordered a hot latte with oat milk, expecting what you normally get with a latte (1-2 shots of espresso and lots of milk). I want to give this cafe all my business! I live in Conway but this place has never really been on my radar but it came to mind randomly this afternoon when I was trying to decide where to get lunch. We ordered a turkey & avocado sandwich on rye and the Black Forest ham sandwich. Both were really good! No bells or whistles just a simple good lunch. When I walked inside to pick up the order I was pleasantly surprised by how cozy it was and the lovely Christian music that was playing. All the years we've been coming to the N. Conway area and I cannot believe we hadn't stopped by until today. We both started with a vanilla bean hot latte & it was so tasty. I ordered the veggie omelette with sour dough toast, which was so good & the toast was amazing! It was obvious that the vegetables were fresh & the bread homemade. This place had excellent food! I ordered a bowl of chili and my husband ordered a hot sandwich. Don't recall which one exactly. You could tell the food was made from scratch and didn't come out of a can or package. The wait was a little long but the food quality more than made up for it and they were understaffed when I went so I could understand. Plus, honestly there's a long wait anywhere you eat around here in my experience. They had a cute little shop section with mugs, bowls, local jams and things of the like.
