The ice-cream scoops are fairly priced ($5/scoop) but given that each cookie costs $3(one cookie!) a sandwich at $9 (expensive) seemed the way to go. Way too expensive for what you get. The Customer Service was less than ideal. - No: No bathroom. - No: I don't know where the closest bathroom is. - No: I don't give samples so you can actually taste what you're getting before you pay for it. - No: I don't know what the cookies taste like. - No: I don't know how to get you your rewards points (but I'm more than happy to help the nice family who stepped up to the regiester after you). - No: Thank you for stopping by and bringing a whole bunch of your friends to try out our business. - No: We don't value your return business. OTOH, great decor and retro 80s merch! I'm always a sucker for that (ET !)!

They have lots of coffee drinks and pastries but if the name says "pie," you need to get pie. The cherry pie was wonderful. Cherry is not my number one pie flavor but it was great and not too sweet. The crust was wonderful. The chicken pie had a ton of flavor and had corn and carrots inside, so I guess you could say it was healthy-ish. The Thanksgiving pie was wonderful, even though it is August and a million degrees outside. The spices were perfect and made me think of Turkey Day. No passport required to visit this Republic.

It's very quiet.. now that I think of it, I don't even remember if there was any background music playing. I came at the request of a friend. Was turned off during my visit day. It was extremely humid outside. And it seemed no effort to counter that inside. There was no air conditioning (maybe it broke down) but then they have ceiling fans that aren't on when there is obviously electricity. It was so stuffy and uncomfortable. I even asked a worker if there was the possibility to turn them on and she said she didn't know and then walked away There was also really nowhere to sit... except 1 table that said for groups of 3 or more. In the entire place there was only one group of 3 anywhere. We asked and they initially told us no we couldn't sit there. Parking is pretty difficult, and valet is $5. I can easily see the parking lot getting gridlocked on a busy day. I sampled a few of their gelato flavors, including the jasmine lychee and soy sauce. Both were okay, but I just wasn't in the mood for either of them today. I ended up getting the Pandan Toast to try. The pandan flavor was really good--not too grassy and didn't taste too artificial. The ice cream also had a buttery taste to it. It might have been from the toast, but I'm not too sure. The bread itself wasn't oily, which was nice, but it was kind of dry. The pandan sauce definitely helped make it easier to eat. I probably wouldn't eat the bread by itself though because it was super hard and didn't really have much flavor. I wasn't sure what to expect from the toast, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I'd come back to try their shaved ice when mango is in season again!
