Just had an incredible experience at the Sweet Hereafter's taster night. Tried 6 amazing flavours an left stuffed. Lemon Pomagranted was phenomenal. As well as the Apple Rhubarb Crisp. This is the perfect place to take someone out for great cheesecake in a relaxed atmosphere. We sat in really comfy leather chairs. The owner came out and explained each course. I was very excited to know there was a cheesecake shop at Quinpool rd. I got the NY style with strawberry sauce on the side. The cheesecake was extremely heavy, dense. I wish it could be just slightly softer. The sauce could improve a lot, it was very watery and it didn't taste fresh. It was a very expensive piece of cheesecake. Coffee was ok. Sadly underwhelmed. I was looking forward to coming here because I love cheesecake. I tried a baked cheesecake while my husband tried a berry version. While both slices were very rich, neither has much in the way of flavour. The crusts did not taste much of anything, except some unidentifiable fat. Neither one of us were particularly impressed with our choices. On the bright side, the space is really cute and the fact that Sweet Hereafter clearly focuses on dessert in this sea of Quinpool restaurants is brilliant. Every flavour of their dairy-free cheesecakes that I have tried has been absolutely delicious. No complaints from friends and family that have eaten their regular cheesecake as well. Came here for the vegan cheesecake, and oh my was it amazing! I had the black forest as it was the only vegan flavor available the day I visited. The portion was large and was probably the most delicious vegan cheesecake I have ever had. We experienced the delicious cheesecakes at the Yelp Burstday event and was on our list to visit. We finally got a chance and boy did it not disappoint. We entered but was a little uncertain what to do. The waitress told us to order at the counter and she would bring our order to the table. Let me just say this is the best place to go for desserts in the city - especially if you love cheesecake! I have had the pleasure of speaking with the owners (the husband is the amazing cheesecake master!) several times. They are so inviting, and happy to share their passion for what they do. Last night my husband and made a trek over the bridge just to try a slice of the cheesecake we have been hearing so much about. Let me tell you it was worth the bridge fare! There was a lovely selection of cakes in the display case and at least two more on the way out of the kitchen even though it was 9:30 at night. We were greeted by pleasant smiling faces which, let's face it, is even more rare at that hour. We sat while we waited for our cakes, hubby had a vegan chocolate with a glass of milk. I had turtle with a hot chocolate to drink. While I waited I got to take in the awesome decor. A total diva dream come true. If I didn't live with hubby I would decorate my house JUST like that. When my cheesecake arrive I was giddy with delight, the presentation was perfect and I loved the added little chocolate tiara. Nice touch! The cake was so delicious and rich. I actually couldn't finish my piece and had them wrap up my last two bites to come home. Yeah two bites were worth it. My friend and I arrived a few minutes before opening but they still let us in anyway, which was nice! The selection was on the smaller side, but I suppose it's not fair to compare them to something like The Cheesecake Factory where you have dozens upon dozens of flavours. I ended up getting the Kit Kat cheesecake and an iced green tea drink. Surprisingly, the iced green tea was really delicious. It had a touch of lemonade that added a tanginess to it. The cheesecake itself was decent. If you're a fan of NY-style cheesecake, you'll like this place. Overall, while I prefer the much lighter and nuanced Japanese-style cheesecake (where I can literally eat the entire cake in one day), I enjoyed the Kit Kat slice well enough. It was chocolate on top of chocolate, so if you're a fan of that, then this one's for you. Service was super friendly as well! I have been here twice and then shared samples with a friend at home. The visits to the actual building was really nice, a great date place, very intimate, dim lighting and just romantic. Anyways, the cheesecakes are awesome! I have had the vegan raspberry and loved it! And then had a variety of cheesecakes including cookies and cream, blueberry and a chocolate one. I recall the cookie and cream one was vegan and unfortunately had a weird consistency and taste :S However, this will not stop me from going back! They change up the selection on tap frequently and offer lovely ranges of take away nibbles. Recently I was looking for a tray of different sweet things to proffer at an annual general meeting for a discerning group. I checked in at the Sweet Hereafter and described what I was looking for - around 50 little pieces for a group of 20-25 to each have a couple of tastes without being sugar-coma'd. All too happy to oblige, we settled on 4 different bite-sized flavours, including the lavender/blackberry, lemon, sea salt/caramel, and the crowd favourite, orange/dark chocolate. The price was reasonable, the presentation excellent. Really, the elegant boxes came tied up with fancy ribbon and each piece inside had its own little wrapper. She just has to head down to the Sweet Hereafter and choose from the selection of absolutely divine vegan (no animal products = no dairy = no lactose) cheesecakes. Chocolate peanut butter? Yes. My only criticism is the S'more cheesecake, I ordered I was super excited about I could not wait for the chocolate, graham cracker, and marshmallow toppings! Unfortunately it was all chocolate, there was a sprinkling of graham crumbs on top, but not enough, I was hoping for the crust to be graham as well, but it was chocolate. I didn't know this place existed until a friend suggested going after dinner at Blue Olive. It was tough selecting from the variety of handmade cheesecake options but after much deliberation I decided on the Irish Chocolate Cream, and it was amazing. My friend tried the gluten-free Neapolitan, and it was also delicious. It was great to chat with the owner, Colin - he's very engaged with all of his customers, and even when there were more people than seats, he was making sure everyone was having a good time. They are also having live music on Thursday nights, and the two musicians that were playing last night were great. A very cool dessert spot, overall. read more

I love upscale dessert locales and the decor of this place is perfectly done (think rich fabrics and modern upholstery with bling) and would be great for a date. I got a slice of cheesecake to go and the service was very friendly. However, the cheesecake was quite pricey and did not wow me at all. The crust was probably the best part. I love that they are trying to make healthier cheesecakes and maybe I just chose the wrong one. The kit kat cheesecake had some strange layers of white stuff that was an odd texture and did not add anything to the dessert, and I did not find there to be a rich chocolate flavor. At over $9 a slice, you are better off buying a whole cheesecake at the Sweet Hereafter (~$27) or going some place else. read more

OH MY!!!! AMAZING!!!! Ordered a coffee crisp cheesecake for my husband 's birthday. So good!!! ( or so I was told) I am allergic to chocolate so ordered a piece of Coconut Lime. Unfortunately I did not check the order and when I got home there had been a mix up I had a piece of a cheesecake that was chocolate. I called the store and they delivered my piece of cheesecake!!! Everything about this place is amazing. The food, service, decor, everything. They cater to the general public and also have options for vegans and people who need to/want to follow a gluten free diet. I have had a few of the gluten and dairy free kind and have yet to find one I don't like. My boyfriend even got me a cake specially made for my birthday which was beautiful and delicious!
