Bowerman's on 8th is a love letter to the humble blueberry, written in the language of warm lattes, fresh pastries, and shelves overflowing with jars that seem to bottle summer itself. As someone with a dairy allergy, coffee shops can sometimes feel like places built for everyone else. But here there was kindness in the details--different milk options, thoughtful choices, and the feeling that everyone should be able to enjoy a good cup of coffee. Traveling from out of state, this was one of the places I circled on my map, hoping reality would match the stories. Somehow, it was even better. The blueberry latte was the kind of drink that slows time. Bright and refreshing, sweet without trying too hard, tasting like a morning walk through a Michigan orchard after the rain. Around me were cases filled with treats and shelves stacked with jams, syrups, and every blueberry creation imaginable, each one carrying a little piece of the region's soul. There is something beautiful about a place that chooses one simple thing and perfects it. Bowerman's does not merely sell coffee--it celebrates harvests, local traditions, and the quiet joy of gathering around a table. You leave with a warm cup in your hands, a bag of blueberry treasures under your arm and a feeling of satisfaction. Some places are worth the drive. Some are worth the hype. Bowerman's on 8th is both.

I had fun looking around at all the things to buy -- lots of spreads, coffee, merch, blueberry things, kitchen items, stickers, etc. I loved that they had big bags of frozen blueberries for sale - next time I'll bring my cooler! I was heading to dinner so I didn't get any food, but their menu features sweet and savory breakfast options, lunch sandwiches, bowls and salads, soups, even dinner options like a burger. Everything sounded great so I'd love to come back for lunch. The pastry case was calling me, so I got one blueberry donut and a blueberry lemon donut to take home. They were fresh and lightly glazed. The lemon was my favorite. There is a seating area and this looks like a really nice place to enjoy an afternoon. I will hopefully be back soon!

Lovely all day type of cafe close to the main shopping area on Phoenix…read more Order at the counter and there is ample seating inside, at the front entrance (covered patio), and in the back (patio is two levels and there's also outdoor seating on the ground level). I could see this place getting very busy, but the times I went it wasn't too bad. Friendly staff at the counter. The lady bird sandwich was tasty and I was very full after it! Husband got a breakfast wrap (it comes pre made in foil behind the counter if that would impact your decision on whether to get it). Tasty nonetheless. Also got a cinnamon roll which was good, a bit sweet of course, but something I'd get again to split! Would stop by here again if you're in the area!

They had a great variety of salads, sandwiches, desserts, and drinks, so it took us a minute to decide. We ordered the Fiesta Wrap (8/10). It was really good, but I think it could have used a little more seasoning. The salsa definitely helped bring everything together though. We also got the Wise Guy, which was a 10/10. It was filling, made with fresh ingredients, and came with a side of kettle chips that were also really good. For dessert, we got a cookie that was moist, soft, and pulled apart easily. Definitely worth trying. I also ordered a small iced s'mores latte. It tasted more like a mocha than a s'mores latte, but I didn't mind because it was still enjoyable. Even though they seemed pretty busy, the service was efficient and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. Overall, a great spot with fresh food, plenty of options, and good service. I'd definitely come back.

Incredible food that I'm Gibbs dream about for a few more nights yet. I had the walleye, my fiancée had the pot pie (called something else on the menu; I forget exactly what). She only didn't finish hers because she eats like a bird, but I finished hers even after I'd inhaled mine. I came even describe the flavors (except to say the horseradish mixed in the potato top of the pot pie is inspired!) I will just say that each bite hit the sweet, savory, and salty notes just right all at the same time. Can't forget to mention: the service was lovely. Our server was very kind, personable, and relaxed, and she offered us great recommendations, and boy am I glad I listened. I can't recommend this place enough. I hear the James Beard nominations may be snooping around, and they'd be right to.

We rave about this place to all of our friends every year because the food is superb and the service has always been excellent. Unfortunately, today's breakfast experience completely tarnished that reputation. We were so excited to be back and ordered a full breakfast, totaling over $75. I ordered the Penny Royale Breakfast, but when I tried the sausage, it just wasn't to my taste. I politely asked our waitress if I could swap the sausage for bacon instead. To my absolute shock, her immediate response was a flat "No!" She informed me that she would not swap it because "everyone likes our sausage here" and insisted it was just a "preference thing" because they use high-quality goods. She refused to take the sausage back or accommodate the swap, stating she could only put in a separate order for a side of bacon that we would have to pay extra for. In all my years of dining out, I have never experienced such rigid, dismissive customer service. For a restaurant we love so much, it was incredibly disheartening that the staff wouldn't accommodate a simple request to keep a loyal customer happy over a piece of breakfast meat. We ultimately chose not to press the issue further because we didn't want to completely ruin what had been a peaceful morning, but the interaction left a terrible taste in our mouths. We always tip generously in cash, but today we intentionally left a minimal tip of $2 on the credit card to reflect the pathetic service. It is incredibly disappointing when a place with so many things going for them forgets that hospitality and accommodating guests with such a small request is just so important Later the same day after posting my message above on Yelp the manager responds as you can see below. In response I'd just like to say that there is no need to justify poor customer service. And a customer should not feel bad for not liking something. We are all paying customers and we should pay for the things that we like and not pay for the things that we don't like simple and easy. I just hope you do better for your customers in the future.
