Arrived 15 minutes late and the Guide Rita was very accommodating. Therefore, she had her husband…read moremeet me and my guest at the 2nd venue (The BrickYard) with the tasting from the 1st venue (The Silo). We tasted the Haystack from The Silo- soft hoagie bun with chopped beef, nicely complimented by cheese and seasonings topped with crispy potatoes. The Brickyard was a nice ambiance very pub-like with a nice outdoor patio area. We tasted the Caprese salad, Hard Apple Cider, sweet potato fries and dry rubbed chicken wing. Everything was delicious. The fresh mozzarella in the salad was soft and tasty. I'd never had a hard cider before but it was very good as well and likened to a sparkling rose type wine. My guest had the chicken and fries but said both were very tasty. 3rd stop was DiCamillo Bakery where we had a surprisingly appealing biscotti. I say surprisingly because any time I'd ever had a biscotti in the past it was flavorless and dry. This was the same texture as far as it being crunchy, but it was a game changer. I actually ended up buying a box and looking forward to getting into it with a cup of coffee. Next up-The Orange Cat Coffee Company. You were hit smack dab in the face with the aroma of various coffees and flavors. I tried the iced caramel coffee. It was refreshing on a hot afternoon. Had good flavor. My guest tried the hot version with the biscotti from DiCamillo's and REALLY enjoyed it. Gallo Coal Fire Kitchen was probably one of the most unique visits. They have an actual COAL FIRE PIZZA OVEN. So cool to witness! The pizza was VERY good and the head chef was very personable and engaged. We tasted the Margarita pizza. Sooo good! Lastly, we tasted the mini apple pie thingy at The Village Bake Shoppe. It was delicious! Loaded with fresh apples. Not too sweet. My favorite part was the actual rich history of Lewiston that Rita shared. I was greatly encouraged by the abolitionist movement and the underground railroad endeavors. There is an intentional effort to preserve, retain, and promote the true history here. I learned so much and will definitely be back for all the festivals Rita mentioned, namely the Jazz Festival scheduled for next week where thousands decend to experience. They have 2 other tours that I look forward to checking out too. 100% recommend.

Had generous food samples from 5 area restaurants-all different and tasty! Even though we are all locals, we can highly recommend this experience to anyone who'd like to be tourists in their own backyards! Well done, Roaming Table!!

Jessica did such an amazing job with our group of 6. We had a group of 4 including our 2-year old…read moreson as well as the two locals we were visiting. Our tour ended up just being our own group and felt like we were on a private experience which elevated the whole affair. Even though we did have two locals with us, they had not visited any of the sites that we went to so it was a new and wonderful experience for all. The restaurants we visited were excellent with plenty of seating and no waits. The tour felt like it was a well-oiled production and Jessica seemed to be familiar with the staff at each location. Another bonus was that she set the pacing exactly to our needs when accounting for the inclusion of a 2-year old. This was an awesome way to learn about the culinary scene and its integration with the history of Toronto, which also made the tour more interesting and educational. We had not known that Toronto was such an eclectic food scene, but after the tour could definitely see why it is such a competitive place to open a restaurant. Jessica was an awesome guide and a generally fun person to hang out with. We bonded over our love not only of food but of travel and swapped stories about various places we had been. Interestingly, she was able to make a recommendation for an upcoming trip that we were taking to Austin, Texas about another (unrelated) food tour which we actually did end up booking and was also awesome. She also provided some additional recommendations for more places in Toronto for our group to visit during the trip which was very appreciated! Overall, I would highly recommend this food tour and specifically our guide Jessica to anyone looking to explore the Toronto food scene in more depth and detail!

Well, my review is a little different than most. What could have been disastrous, turned into a…read morewonderful, experience full of humor and knowledge. My niece had booked a bus tour for her family and myself to celebrate my recent retirement. The night before, we received notice that the bus had broken down and it looked like our adventure was going to be canceled. We were surprised when the owner/operator Joel, offered to salvage the experience and still meet us at the Richardson complex to give us a walking tour of both the newly renovated area as well as the spooky abandoned space. It was pretty cool as it was just the 5 of us and him. Joel is a wealth of knowledge with a humorous twist as he led us through the gorgeous reimagined hotel areas. He actually sat us down and explained how the former psyche center operated and took us through some gorgeous areas full of architectural treasures, mosaic tiled floors and some really interesting stories. Then it was on to the abandoned areas. It's incredible that the complex could get this dilapidated. It will take generations for this place to be fully restored. Joel's personal stories and desire to tell them really made the experience. He definitely turned what could have been a disappointment into a memorable experience. I easily forgot about the bus portion of the tour and will remember the fun facts and the personal touch that Joel provided for us. Even the most seasoned Buffalonian will find these tours interesting and fun. I can't wait to go again when the bus is fixed, but then again, if it's not, Joel can turn the experience around! Thank you for the extra attention! It made all the difference.

Booking was easy online and they have different types of tours. The level of value you get on this tour is unmatched. I'd like to do the chicken wing or tavern tour the next time I'm in town.
