AMAZING! Celia is a DOLL and her product is fantastic! So much care and quality in the beautiful cookies! I almost don't want to eat one but who am I kidding??? Wonderful customer service. Lady was helpful and place looked clean. Cupcakes were a hit! Especially the Boston cream & snickerdoodle ones. My man got two chocolate chip cookies for himself and said they were really good and tasted fresh.

I recently had a specialty cake from Sweet C's created for a Harry Potter themed baby shower. This was my first time working with Sweet C's, but I guarantee it won't be the last. The cake we received was stunning and was admired by all at the shower. More importantly, it was absolutely delicious! Unlike many cakes you order that are bland or dry, this one was moist and extremely tasty. I also tried several of the specialty cupcakes and can vouch for them, as well. I highly recommend Sweet C's for your next custom cake order, but there's no need to wait for a special event. It's a wonderful place to stop by and get some delicious cupcakes or cookies. UPDATE: Sweet C's is open during the shelter in place directive! It's easy to order online. They will call you for your credit card details. There is easy curbside pickup-up. Just call when you arrive. The pastries and baked goods are as delicious as always. Coffee beverages are excellent, as well. An order from Sweet C's each week has become part of our new routine. We are delighted to support this local, small business and hope you will do the same during these difficult times. Together we can help them weather this storm.

Ordered a cake for my SIL's baby shower from Sweet C's. The cake was a super hit! No kidding, it was delicious. We chose the vanilla cake with fresh strawberries. It was very fresh and juicy. Definitely recommending Sweet C's to friends and family! Will post better pictures soon.

I ordered the holiday cookies, they were so beautiful and so amazingly tasty! I would have taken the picture of the grinch cookies but my kids ate them too quickly!! She has several designs and they are all so cute it was hard to decide.

I ordered a Dr. Who themed cake for my brothers bday and I couldn't have been more impressed. Every little detail they got right! Literally, EVERY detail. And it was so clean cut! After my experience at Sweet C's, I will never go anywhere else for my custom cake needs. Celia created this German chocolate Harley-Davidson masterpiece for my dad's 60th birthday on short notice and it was a hit. Everyone was impressed by the cake & my dad loved it (it's his favorite cake flavor). It turned out exactly as I imagined. I also picked up other assorted cupcakes to supplement the cake and they went fast. Everything was both beautiful and delicious. Thank you, Celia!

I stopped by on a sunny Sunday afternoon after searching Yelp for bakeries in the area since I planned to visit a nearby local coffeehouse. Thank you to my Yelp friend Sherwin C. for his lovely review & photos since they motivated me to check out Sweet C's. And I'm glad I did because I've discovered a lovely local spot for cookies! The shop is somewhat small and tucked between two others on Bothwell Street across from the train tracks. The owner greeted me as soon as I walked in. She apologized for the limited selection. I told her not to worry about it, since I saw plenty of viable options. She asked me if I was looking for a gift for someone. Ha ha! That someone is my sweet loving self! ;-p I asked her what she would recommend. She suggested the peanut butter kiss cookies, oatmeal cherry cookies and the brownie. As of late, I haven't been into super rich chocolaty treats so I mentally crossed the brownie off that list. My eyes immediately gravitated toward the toffee shortbread. I asked her how she felt about that one. She said it's good, but she much prefers rich and chocolaty items, hence her suggestion of the brownie. She offered me a freshly baked toffee shortbread that just came out of the oven. And, I was instantly sold. I loved the buttery shortbread mixed with generous pieces of toffee. I shared the cookie (yes, shocking, I know) with my fiance and he enjoyed it as well. I ended up buying two packages of cookies - the toffee shortbread cookies and the oatmeal cherry. The oatmeal cherry tasted great as well. I liked the texture - soft with a bit of chew and crisp. Again, like with the shortbread, you get a generous amount of cherries in your cookies. Total with tax for 12 cookies was $9.69, which isn't bad at all, saying that they are locally made. The owner gave me her card in case I was interested in having her bake some goodies for a special occasion. She also mentioned that Sweet C's is at local farmers markets too, so I made a note to check that out. Overall, I am impressed with these cookies and cannot wait to sample more of their offerings. Next time you're craving some cookies, check out Sweet C's Bakery. Your taste buds won't regret it.

If I could give zero stars I would...Sweet C's really dropped the ball on my son's 1st Birthday cake. The birthday cake is a essential piece of a 1 year olds birthday party, so needless to say when I picked up a cake that is not at all what I asked for, and quite frankly looked like garbage, I was extremely disappointed. I could not believe the cake that was given to me. It was a blue cake with 'Happy Birthday Sonny" scribbled across the top of the cake, not centered, not done neatly or nicely. I had ordered the cake about a week and a half in advance; I personally went into the bakery and spoke with the owner. I explained what I wanted...I was to have a 12" round cake with sea blue icing and a dark blue border with "Happy Birthday Sonny" going around the side of the cake, in red...I was very specific when I stated I wanted to writing on the side of the cake, that's because I had a cake topper. I showed the cake topper to the owner, I asked if she wanted me to send her a picture so she could match it, she told me she did not need a picture she would remember... apparently she did not remember, even after I spoke with her face to face for at least 15 minutes about what we were doing. I paid upfront for this cake and a smash cake, and I even purchased some cupcakes when I was in the store placing the order; I spent a good amount of money in this bakery and now I was stuck with this awful cake that was embarrassing to present my guests so how a bakery could present it to a customer is beyond me. So I asked that they fix it. I asked that they scrape the writing off the top and put it around the side and I would just put my cake topper on and it would work, then the owner comes up and proceeded to basically call me a liar and said she never agreed to do this, they couldn't write on the side of the cake anyway because it would fit. What?! I asked them to just scrape the top off then because I did not want writing on the top, they asked me to come back in 30 minutes. 30 minutes later I got a cake that had the writing on the side, in Christmas colors, and not wrapped around the cake like I had originally asked for, but sloppily done on the side after they told me they couldn't do it anyway so I said just take it off the top! Whatever... I thanked them and took my cake because I had a party to throw, it worked once I threw the candle and topper on.... but the added stress and running around was not needed on a special day. I spent a lot of money on the cake, it should have looked A LOT nicer than it did. For a 1st Birthday, c'mon, it can't be the first cake you do!! Very disappointing. The cake I received is NOT what was ordered. If you wrote out the ticket wrong, that is on you. You told me you were going to personally decorate this cake and that sometimes when you're doing a cake your creativity flares and you were exited about doing it. When I came to get the cake I was told someone by the name of Stephanie did the cake. Regardless of what the miscommunication was, the cake received is not the cake that was ordered or paid for and looked like garbage. Any other bakery would put a little more effort into a cake for a ONE YEAR OLD BIRTHDAY. A little more effort to create a nicer looking cake is all it would have taken. You were too worried about hometown fest you shouldn't have taken on more than you can handle. This was not my fault and I was never told I was signing a "contract" you're shady business practices and poor customer service will put you out of business soon enough.

You have to do youself a favor and stock up on the following from Sweet C's..ready set go. - Orange Dreamsicle Cookies made with chocolate and tang. - Oatmeal Cherry Cookies made with potato chips and dried cherries - Lemon Shortbread - Peanut Butter Kiss cookies. I seriously was in a cookie coma. Sweet C's you definitely earned my return tastebuds visit.

Sweet C's is a small gourmet bakery tucked away in Palatine downtown. It's not the biggest nor most appealing shop but it does excel at the most important thing: food. While there may not be a huge selection of items available, each item is presented and prepared well with high quality ingredients. The items themselves aren't category defining but you can easily tell that the recipes tune the flavors in a way where the items aren't too sweet nor too rich and there is a bit of a premium feel to both the taste and texture. Definitely give the cupcakes and chocolate items here a try.

It's finally happened - Palatine has an amazing bakery!!! We were in Sweet C's for the first time yesterday and came home with four of the most delicious cupcakes we've ever purchased!!! I cannot think of any other way to describe them other than perfect. The flavors were spot on, frosting was not too sweet, and the cake had the most wonderful texture. Looking forward to going back to try the raspberry thumbprint cookies, the bars, and...well...everything!!! read more

Great cupcakes, we got the chimney. Tasted great! If ordering off door dash, make sure to specify flavor. No filling though. Pictures look like there was suppose to be a filling, but it didn't give an option for it on door dash. Probably not sweet's fault but maybe add that to the comments/notes. read more

This place is amazing! In January, the owner made my friend a beautiful birthday cake at the last minute. Then, I proceeded to lock that cake in my rental car and walk away....gah!!!!!! I called the owner, told her what happened and asked her if she had any more cakes and she kindly offered the last of her cupcakes to me for free since she was about to close and she couldn't keep them. What a sweetie!!! I also just had her do another cake for another friend (and I didn't lock that in the car). It was chocolatey and delicious!!! Thank you, I will return!! read more

We ordered two unicorn cakes for a birthday party and not only was it a work of art but it tasted fantastic! Just the right amount of sweet (not overly sweet). The parents were enquiring as to where we purchased them and surprisingly even some children were commenting on how great it tasted!! The customer service was exemplary! This is definitely one of Palatine's hidden gems! I was looking for a specific cake for my husbands birthday and I like finding neighborhood businesses that take pride in their products. I was impressed with her honesty of never having made this particular cake but after researching recipes she offered to give it her best shot and I have to say she knocked it out of the park!! It was so moist and the flavors popped! I was a bit nervous but I personally give those who love what they do a chance to shine and she did. I also tried two different kinds of cookies and cupcake. Well the cookies didn't even make it home, we ate them driving around town doing other errands and the cupcake called my name later in the afternoon. Sweet C is a wonderful local bakery here in Palatine! This place has the super delicious cupcakes I have ever had. I am a quite picky about the taste of the sweets but this place is exceptional. I had a custom cake made here for my husband's birthday. It was a very challenging design but Stephanie, the cake designer, was up for the challenge. Celia was very upfront with me about what type of cake and frosting we should use based on how well it would hold up structurally. Her recommendation wasn't my first choice of flavor but I figured since she was the expert, I would take her advice. The cake turned out beautifully and was delicious. It was a huge hit with my husband and everyone at the party. Celia was very good about communicating with me regarding timeframe, number of people we were feeding and final decision on flavors. The store is very cute, and the cupcakes and cookies are to die for. read more

I live out of town, but wanted to get my dad some freshly homemade chocolate chip cookies. I chose Sweet C's bakery from good reviews, and I'm so glad I did! Not only did they whip up some fabulous homemade chocolate chip cookies, they also delivered them to my dad on his birthday on a beautiful platter! They had amazing customer service and my dad raves about how delicious the cookies were! He didn't save me any to try :(! I would highly recommend supporting this lovely bakery! read more

From beginning to end my experience with this quaint little shop has nothing short of wonderful. We contacted Celia to come in for a cake tasting for our wedding cake. She prepared cupcakes in 4 flavors for us to try. We settled on almond. We gave her some ideas through photos of what we were looking for. Our wedding day came and the cake was absolutely perfect. This was my first time to Sweet C bakery. I was amazed by their service. My husband and I went there for our gender reveal cake, my ultra sound was on a Thursday and the cake was scheduled for pick up the next day evening. After the ultra sound we were dying to know the gender! we knew we wouldn't be able to sleep that night!!!! so I called Sweet C's that evening and asked them if they could some how get the cake done for tonight?! it was 6 PM and they close at 7 PM. My husband rushed there by 6:10 PM and they were able to get the cake ready by 7 PM.. Wowww what a service I greatly appreciate them. Oh the cake was mind blowing the best vanilla buttercream cake we've ever had.. I love this place :) Thanks Sweet C's. read more

I've been trying to try this place out but it closes a little too early for me since I work all day and get out around 7. However, I was finally able to make it before closing and I'm beyond satisfied. Totally in love with their gluten free coconut macaroons! Love the small shop, and how hidden it is, it makes you feel so in the know and it's just so extremely charming & I personally love it's clear view to the back preparation area. All I got to say is "WOW!" Sweet C's is a true gem tucked away in Palatine. When you first walk in you are greeted by a full case of assorted and decorated cupcakes, as well as cookies and a warm welcome. All the cookies are pre-wrapped (6 in each), which is super convenient for when you've got a guilty craving on the go!! They're also a part of the local Farmers Market that goes on in the summertime. If you've grabbed something at the market, and it's not in the bakery when you come in... just ask and they'll be more than happy to make you a nice, warm batch of special sweets to order! As for the cakes, they are made to order, and for good reason... they are worth the $$$! So many talented chefs and artists under one roof! I cannot tell you how many times they have saved the day for a friends wedding, holiday gathering or a coworkers birthday! Not to mention all the tasty pies during the winter season. Decided to try out this bakery since I purchased some items of their from the farmer's market in town. Walked in expecting a "bakery" and was quite disappointed in what I saw. One display case with a few dishes of cupcakes (3-4 cupcakes per dish) and a counter that had a few different assortments of cookies and bars that are already pre-wrapped. That was it!! Didn't even have the bars I was looking for that they sell at the farmer's market. Not exactly what you think of when you think of a "bakery". No cakes to purchase, no pastries, no coffee cakes, and I guess if you only wanted a couple cookies, you are out of luck because everything is pre-wrapped with the quantities already bagged. Pretty lame excuse for a bakery!! read more

Celia is awesome. She explained everything and answered any questions we had. We tried lemon with vanilla, red velvet with custard, and chocolate with peanut butter for our wedding cake. They were all delicious and we went with red velvet with custard. We can't wait for our wedding and will definitely go back for anymore cakes we need. read more

We ordered a cake for our daughter's 1st birthday party and could not be more pleased. I emailed Celia a few pictures of the theme I was looking at (English Garden), and we walked through the order over the phone to figure out size, etc. and The result was a beautifully decorated cake that exceeded the vision I had in my head. We hated to cut it because it was so pretty, but were glad we did because it was as delicious as it was beautiful. Truly the hit of the party. read more

Sweet Cs made a Wrigley Field cake for my granddaughters 1st birthday. Not only did it look awesome, it tasted great. Many guests wanted to know where we got the cake. The cake was light and the buttercream had just the right amount of sweetness. They also made cookies for us that looked like Cubs jerseys. Everyone loved them. This is now our go-to bakery for cakes and cookies. Highly recommended and the people were nice and helpful! read more
