With Jewel, I found some of their more exotic fruits way overpriced, such as their avocados, Kiwi fruits, papaya and mangos (which is not the ripest) so I don't even bother buying here. For everyday Household necessities, like toilet paper, garbage bags, and shampoos, I go to Target as they are substantially lower in price. Also, I noticed Jewel will sometimes offer their packaged salads on sale for 50% off, but have noticed the expiration date had expired. The nice thing about this location is the employees are pretty friendly and more then happy to assist you, and the store is always well kept and clean.

Not everyone can cook great nihari--but this place truly can…read more A friend of mine was in Streamwood this weekend and happened to come across Zahid Nihari. Since my nickname is Zahid and he knows how much I love nihari, he snapped a photo of the restaurant and sent it to me. I jokingly told him to bring some for the "owner" (meaning me), but I didn't expect him to take it seriously. He ended up dining there, loved the nihari, and decided to order an extra portion to go. Then he drove seven and a half hours all the way to Minneapolis and delivered it to me today. After reheating it, I can honestly say--it was absolutely delicious. I usually don't write reviews for places I haven't visited in person. However, after tasting the nihari from Zahid Nihari, I was genuinely impressed and felt compelled to share my experience. This restaurant is now at the top of my list for future trips to the greater Chicago area. Wishing them all the very best!
