Then one day I decided to try something local and found Uncommon Cups & Cones. What I expected was decent ice cream and the satisfaction of supporting a small business. What I got was better ice cream, bigger portions, lower prices, friendlier service, and a place my kids now ask to visit by name. Every visit feels like we're getting away with something. We spend less money than we did at the chain places, somehow leave with more ice cream, and the quality is better. I'm still trying to figure out how that math works. My kids absolutely love this place. They love the unique flavor names, they love the atmosphere, and they treat every visit like it's a special occasion. As a parent, that's worth a lot. What really separates Uncommon Cups & Cones, though, is the people. They were friendly from day one, but by our second visit they remembered us.
