It's tough to find an ice cream shop that serves low fat/sugar free frozen yogurt. So we danced for joy when we discovered Zesto. And cried when we learned they're closing their door tomorrow (11/16) through Valentine's Day. I guess folks don't eat ice cream in the winter. Service was patient and friendly. My wife ordered a small hot fudge sundae with peach yogurt. Small? Hardly. It was far larger than we expected. And very tasty. I went with a large chocolate mint chip yogurt cone. Large? Giant would have been more appropriate. They handed me the leaning tower of Pisa. My only regret was I had to eat it quickly so the yogurt wouldn't drip all over me. Nothing I couldn't handle . Zestos (and other Chillers locations) continue to deliver! They are our favorite local place for cold, refreshing treats--ice cream or drinks. The yogurt has real fruit in it. Mom's favorite is the chocolate peanut butter, which has little bits of peanut butter in it. They also have pretzel, which is slightly less sweet, but still delicious. Dad loves the freezes (his two favorites are root beer with vanilla ice cream, or sherbet with 7up). Siblings love the cyclones, sherbet, soft serve or hard ice cream. It's all good! My favorite place for a summer treat. I lived in the area for about 13 years and I became completely addicted to Zesto during that time. Now that I've moved away, I have to get my fix any time I am anywhere close to New Albany. I highly recommend the peanut butter frozen yogurt...it's always been my favorite. But, the chocolate malt and hot fudge brownie sundae are also really great. The staff is always quite friendly and happy. The lines are usually long, but it's worth the wait. The prices are great, the food is great, the staff is great, what's not to love? I guess my only complaint is that it's not available in my new home of Lexington yet...but I'll be first in line if they expand there! read more

A chili cheese dog with very little chili, a shake so thick that you can't drink it until you let it sit for a bit. If that's your cup of tea, then you'll love this place that once was proud of the product they serve. I went through the drive through, had to turn around to get some chili... which defeats the convenience purpose of a drive thru. Walk up, talk to a manager and show him my situation. No apology or anything besides "we can give you a chili cup". While waiting, I get yelled at by a customer because my vehicle is too close to his... but mine is completely inside the lines of my spot. So if you want to go there, don't park in their tiny spots and also don't go through the drive through because you'll just have to walk back up. read more

Bear with me as I discuss my Dorm Days™ for a moment. As a freshman at IU Southeast, I wasn't just new to college life - I was also completely unfamiliar with New Albany. So, I kept my ear to the ground and it didn't take long for me to learn a few things. One: the McDonald's and Big Boy by campus were "last resort" level. Two: Sav-a-Step coffee is a lot better than it has any logical reason to be. Third, and most importantly, New Albanians are zany for Zesto. My dormmates revered the place, and as soon as I saw the pink glow of the big, iconic neon sign, I knew it was gonna be up my alley. Years later, it still is! The walk-up ice cream shop is a uniquely American treasure, and in my experience, Zesto is one of the best(o). I've always loved the "Chicago dogs" here; even though they're only Chicago-style in the absolute loosest sense of the term, the toppings just taste so darn good. The "Vortex," their take on the Blizzard, is also great. I think they only offer the Cotton Candy Vortex on a seasonal basis, but if you ever see it on the menu, order it without hesitation. It. Is. Fantastic. Can't help but feel an endorphin rush whenever this opens for its operating season. Long live Zesto, and may they continue feeding broke dorm kids for years to come. read more

A COMPLETE WASTE OF TRAVEL TIME, MONEY, AND ABOUT 2 HOURS OF CRAVING ZESTO AND FINALLY BEING ABLE TO GET SOMEONE TO SIT W/ MY MOTHER. HUGELY DISAPPOINTED. Thankfully the drive-thru line was too long - at least 5-6 cars deep. Hold on - I'll explain, keep reading. I walked up to order a large Sprite Float. The order arrived at the Pick-Up window very quickly - cool! But then the disaster happened. My float started flowing out uncontrollably and all of a sudden (upside: it made a pretty decent photo - LOL!!). I'm looking at it and in shock that my drink is spilling out everywhere. I quickly grabbed napkins to start wiping up the mess. I tap on the window to get an employee's attention hoping she'd provide some assistance since SHE took and made my order. She gave me a look like - what?? Then it finally dawned on her to grab a cloth and start helping to wipe up my sprite float from off the counter. I asked how this happened and she basically blamed me for ordering the large. In her effort to think on her feet, the best answer she could find was that I should have ordered a medium that comes with a dome lid to help eliminate the spill-over. I'm stunned - asking "Are you serious"- "am I'm to automatically know that!" So my next question is...then why does Zesto sell the large to customers if it causes such a mess and you don't have the appropriate dome lid for a large? She looked at me puzzled. So then I commented that it was a good thing I didn't order from the drive-thru or the mess would have gotten all over me, my clothes, and my car. Her customer service skills, or lack thereof, led her to respond with - "yeah". To put the bad cherry on top of this experience, a gentleman dressed in all black (I'm sure the shift manager) approached her and spoke in a low voice - I'm sure to find out what's going on. She shrugged it off, he was OK with whatever response she gave and moved on to another counter. Poor customer service skills again but starting from the top. The manager noticed there was an issue and he should have addressed me, as the customer, anyhow - regardless what the employee told him. I get home, open my lid, and realize just how much of my drink spilled out because "I neglected to order a size medium that comes with a dome lid". Wait...it doesn't end there....there is no ice cream! Maybe I got one scoop and it dissolved in the nearly half cup of sprite. Again, wasted money, time, and the 2 hours I was looking forward to enjoying Zesto. Not again. Hopefully their management team will read this review and use it as a training opportunity, from the top down. I hate giving 1 and 2 star reviews, but I couldn't let this ride. read more

Absolutely love this place. Probably because I'm old and nostalgic. The noise from Charlestown road can be a bit much during rush hour, but otherwise, I like to take my great nieces and nephews there for ice cream when they stay with me. It's within walking distance (at least according to me) and it gets the kids some fresh air. The staff is always delightful. We occasionally get burgers and hotdogs which are good as well. read more
