I'm a sucker for an ice cream parlor, and it ain't very hard to get me to slap a five star review on one, but Graeter's earned all of it. They make ice cream fun, plus they have a whole assortment of cakes, chocolates, and anything other goodies one might want. Very friendly staff quick with helpful recommendations. And this may seem like a simple thing, but it's really helpful; the menu wall was so clear, concise, and informative. Graeter's is famous for blackberry chip, and it does look delicious. I sprang for a sundae with the dark chocolate brownie and midnight chip. A healthy serving and excellent ice cream. It is a bit pricey, but I think the value for money is there. Additionally, the place was very clean and orderly. Would return and heartily recommend.

Yes! I am a fan of Graeter's Ice Cream. I was first introduced to their ice cream while living in GA, sold at Publix. It is expensive (I'd say very expensive), but so well worth it upon the first bite. Their ice cream is very smooth and creamy containing quality ingredients. NEVER - have I experienced the grainy texture like you sometimes get from other high-end (and over priced) ice cream brands. The chocolate they use is out of this world - to the point it nearly satisfies me more than my beloved Hershey's. Needless to say, I was super elated when I saw a physical location in the Kentuckiana area (GA didn't have). My all time favorite flavor is the Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip. A couple of days ago I mixed it with the Black Cherry Chocolate Chip and it was a double divine ice cream dream. The employees are always, always nice no matter how short-staffed they are (which happens) or how busy. On my last visit a couple of days ago, the employee was working alone and the drive-thru signal bell kept dinging along with the entrance doors constantly swinging open with incoming customers. The young man was even-tempered, friendly, and made it a point to acknowledge every customer and to assure them he'll be with them soon. Quality customer service was also served.

A local ice cream option, Graeters is based out of Cincinnati and has about 5 locations around the Louisville/S. Indiana area. They have standard flavors along with a rotating seasonal menu. You can also buy their flavors to go from thier stores. They make thier own chocolate to go into the ice cream. The ice cream is french pot, creamy and smooth. This trip, my friend ordered a Sunday. You can pick your own base and toppings. I choose a standard cup w Coffee ice cream which is a regular flavor. Cost was just under $11

Man, oh man is this place tasty. They have the type of ice cream that makes you want to fall to your knees and thank God you're alive. The staff is friendly and seem eager to serve. I've never had a bad experience here, and I hope that this place survives for generations so I can take my grandchildren here one day!

Their milkshakes keep me coming back! So yummy, often less crowded than Chillers, even though the line seems to take a very long time here.

Good ice cream. Friendly staff. I was greeted upon walking in. The gentleman behind the counter immediately offered me samples of any ice cream. I chose to try the cookies & cream. It was excellent. I ended up with a one dip waffle cone of it for just under $5. It is a little pricey, but I still think it's worth returning to.

The ice cream is amazing. The workers touching cones and scooping ice cream without gloves is not amazing.

We especially loved the heart shaped red hot candies. They give out samples to taste. The red hots are perfect! Not burn your mouth hot! I bought several bags to take home to friends in California. We enjoyed exploring the museum room with all of the candy tins from years past. They have original candy making equipment and all of the history to offer a nostalgic experience. Be sure to try the marshmallow, chocolate carmel and pecan treat. The Modjeskas definitely came home with us to share with family and friends. I love these little town treasures!

Now, imagine the nuggets were sold by the pound, and you paid for the extra ones you didn't want. I fully accept the fact that I might be wrong, but when I sat down just outside, I found more than I'd expected/wanted, and I paid for it. Okay... maybe it was an "oopsie-doodle", it was near my birthday, so all is forgiven. What about the chocolates? I can't deny that the selection is amazing, however, where it comes to quality, I have to admit I was not blown away. That isn't to say I felt they weren't great - they were! At the same time, there are other candy stores with similar products and concepts whose products are no worse. So, what does that leave us with? Schimpff's Confectionery is a very good, old-timey candy store. However, while I can't say their ranking as #1 best candy store in America in 2025 by USA Today is undeserved. However, I personally wouldn't go too far out of my way to get some of their chocolate candies.

The Sweet Spot is less edgy (you won't find any "Fidel Castro's Havana Banana" soda here) but just as delightful for all ages - perhaps most of all for the adults who are fresh off a "Kentucky High-5" from Against the Grain down the street. Whether you're after regular packaged candy or the fancy glass-counter offerings, you'll find that the selection here is well above average. The staff is terrific and the prices really aren't bad for a specialty store like this. My favorite part is the soda cooler, which is reasonable at two bucks a bottle and contains some genuinely unexpected regional favorites.
