I went to their Rosebud location today. Store is cute and clean and staff is nice. That's about all I have to say because the prices are crazy high! I got a carmal latte and it was terrible (tasted like dirt water/sugar) and I got a brownie (it was ok) and a cake pop. $4 for a cake pop is the only reason I came to yelp. I could have refused it but my daughter wanted it. It was the size of a bouncy ball for $4!?!?! Anyways I probably won't come again but good luck on future success! read more

All I have to say is that I Love this place. The staff is amazing.... They always make you feel as though your coming to grandma's house. Walking in the door your eye immediately get wide for excitement, and your mouth waters. My husband surprised me with a cake on my birthday, I was like, you got me a cake! You never get me cake! Wow, how nice and sweet! When the candles were extinguished, my friend took the cake to cut for me, since I was busy with guests, I didn't mind. This was around 9:00pm. I continued to mingle and honestly forgot about the cake until I went inside and saw a fourth of a piece, left on a plate . I saw a crumb on the side and took a taste and immediately froze and wanted to sing! It was the best cake ever! I looked around for the actual plate till I realized, this was it, my cake was gone! Now you know what I did! Out came the Tupperware and that cake became my prisoner to hold for ransom! As I was hiding my cake, one of my guest came in and saw the empty plate and looked at me , and looked at the plate and said, "ahhh man , no cake left? " I calmly said no and offered her a cookie. She then said that was the best cake ever, and by the way, you got icing on your face! I love red velvet cake, but seldom get it because most people do not make them moist enough or add generous amounts nuts on them. Sometimes, just nut sprinkles, what is that!!!!!! This cake was dripping in pecans like diamonds, just like he requested! It looked great and tasted even better! The only think wrong with that cake is that I had to share!!!! I've been to this bakery a few times now and I never leave disappointed. Because of Covid, patrons are not allowed inside of the bakery but they are taking orders online and at the doorway. Not sure why sweet gem does not have more reviews! I've lived in the area for less than a year and recently stumbled upon it one Saturday during a walk. I promised I would make it back and today was the day...they did not disappoint! My husband and I were overwhelmed with the choices but finally settled on the Chicken Salad Sandwich, a slice of Strawberry Cheese Cake, and a slice of Banana Pudding Cheese Cake. Finally!! We finally had the chance to visit Sweet Brown Suga & it did not disappoint. Customer service is A+, even with the COVID restrictions preventing customers from going inside the establishment. We decided to order one of just about everything they had available at the end of the day - slice of chocolate cake, slice of strawberry cake, a shortbread cookie, a red velvet cupcake, a lemonade & an Arnold Palmer (total cost was about $25). The cake slices were huge, moist & flavorful. The shortbread cookie was...well a shortbread cookie. The drinks were good. The only let down was the cupcake, it was quite underwhelming and dry. BUT I went back a few days later & got the sliced red velvet cake & it was exactly what you desire in a big, delicious slice of red velvety goodness (about $6/slice). I was so satisfied with our experience that I am considering having them make a custom cake for an upcoming event. Have you seen their pictures of their custom work?!? We desperately needed a bakery close by and we finally got one! This spot offers cupcakes, brownies, macaroons, cookies, and more. You can dine in or take your sweet treat to go. I just stopped by to get some of their wonderful butter bars to have with my morning coffee and didn't realize they closed at 6:00. The proprietor (who is always helpful, friendly and professional) saw me come to the door and turn to go back to my car when I realized they were closed - I was 30 minutes too late! Zero ability to iron out an order mess-up. As a regular customer I ordered desserts for a meeting (had ordered exact same selection before). When I arrived it was incorrect. The teenage/college girl working had no idea what to do to remedy the problem. I told her what would fix it. She started to do it,but wanted to charge me more money after I had already paid the total.I said no. She and another employee took the order to the back to "fix", but they never returned. After waiting, I called out to the kitchen that I had to leave, could wait no longer and I would deal with owner later on the bill. Now owner won't return my call, and another owner from sister store, says she cannot help me. Hard to swallow as a regular customer and after seeing that these women announce their Christianity in local newspaper articles. Sad ownership. read more
