Was very pleased with our visit to Sweet Beans. I was worried about the food & drink options, since I am whole food plant based and they were able to make me a smoothie with just the frozen fruits and oat milk. I ordered a raspberry iced latte with almond milk. Couldn't even taste the raspberry and the coffee was watered down with so much oat milk. I was disappointed in the coffee, but I would go back based on the friendly welcoming atmosphere and the food. Will be giving it another try. read more

A-MAZiNG. I have never been disappointed when I go to Sweet Beans. I love that their iced coffees have coffee ice cubes that allow your ice to melt without diluting the coffee. They also have a good variety of coffee and snacky foods. read more

Sweet Beans has never disappointed. We normally grab a coffee/latte to go, but before Covid, we have eaten in a couple of times. Love the latte! The soup is also very good, simple, but full of flavor. My husband still talks about it and it's been a minute since we've tried it. Their wall art decor is unique and interesting. Ordered a bagel and hot chocolate, then got told "no outside food and drinks" because I was still carrying my morning coffee from Starbucks. I can understand trying to dissuade loafers from hanging out, but to cop that attitude to a PAYING customer is unnecessarily rude and self defeating. Won't be back. Best coffee if you live in poquoson! Only downsides are the parking lot situation and it's pretty pricey! Employees are super friendly and easy to talk to and the inside has a very open and light atmosphere. I have racked up hundreds of points just from exclusively getting the large hot mocha. Wish they could expand to their own building and parking lot! read more

Sweet Beans Coffee Bar is a unique location for coffee, wine and beer. The location offers board and card games for anyone to use. It's a laid back environment to enjoy personal down time and chat with friends / family. Self-sufficient kid friendly. I don't recommend taking energetic toddlers as there is not a lot for them to do; older kids who can entertain themselves or join in on a conversation are appropriate. The wine, mead and beer selection is limited, but they offer a variety. I personally enjoyed their chocolate beer with a family friend while sitting back and solving world problems for an hour. They also offer events, such as the painting class. Good date night material. I recommend Sweet Bean. They have something for most people. read more

Amazing coffee!!! I visited Sweet Bean around a week ago and I was blown away by my coffee!! I ordered the vanilla caramel iced latte, it was sweet but not to sweet and the coffee was bold and strong. Coffee ice cubes were added so that was definitely a plus! I also ordered sausage and cheese kolaches; it was my first time trying them and they were warm, savory, and delicious! The host was so friendly, I'll definitely be back!! read more

Ive come here a few times now and the service is always outstanding. The staff is so friendly and the drinks are delicious. The unique thing about sweet beans is that they have almost combined the feel of a new wave brewery with a full coffee bar. I love that i can wake up have my coffee and kolache, grab a beer or wine in one sitting. They are family friendly with plenty of open seating, games to boot in the corner lounge. Five stars for cleanliness, atmosphere, staff and above all quality you can taste. I will gladly drive out of my way to come and lounge. Will continue to spread the magic that is sweet beans. Hoping they add more to the food menu in the future, the specialty drinks is abundant especially if you do not know what to choose from. Hampton has been NEEDING a local coffee shop and Sweet Beans is a breath of fresh air from all the Starbucks around. The only time I've been in was to grab a cup of coffee so I can't talk much for their food or beer/wine/cider option (don't worry I'll be back for that!) but the fresh brewed coffee was good. It held good flavor and wasn't overly strong but a good amount of kick. It's a hidden gem that will be getting a lot more traction. Despite it's tucked away location it's worth the drive over there. For all you NASA people it's in a great location for you so don't pass it up! I'm excited to go back and try their pour your own wine/beer/cider wall :) read more

I've been here twice already and both times I've enjoyed it! The staff is knowledgeable and kind and the place is always clean. So far I've gotten their peach iced tea, iced mocha, a chocolate chip cookie (which was one of the best cookies!), chocolate chip muffin, and egg and bacon breakfast burrito. All was amazing except for the burrito (hence why a star is missing). There was just something about it that made it taste like it was just a warmed up egg they premade and a lot of bacon (which I love bacon but it just added way too much salt). I still ate most of it but I wouldn't get it again. Overall I still would highly recommend Sweet Beans and can't wait to try more of what they have! read more

This is hands down my favorite coffee shop in Hampton area. The workers are always so nice and helpful and always offer suggestions if your not sure what to order. I love that they have a bar area..they have some awesome and tasty local craft beers and wines that are self pour taps. And the coffee is amazing and never disappoints they use coffee ice cubes which is brilliant. I highly recommend trying Sweet Beans. read more

This is a cute little shop that is amazing! From the amazing coffee to the friendly employees, it's a great place! I've been there almost every day for my visit to Hampton, VA. I have gotten the caramel latte both hot and cold and it is amazing! For cold drinks they use coffee cubes so it doesn't water down! Love this place! This isn't my favorite coffee shop in the area because I don't love the coffee. I wish I did. I still come here often because it is still good. There's just something about the syrups that I don't like as much as other places, however, this is my family's favorite coffee shop in the area. Forfront: I'm not really much of a coffee drinker. I dont even have my own coffee maker. That being said, Sweet Beans makes me want to drink a cup of coffee every day of the week. Its a fifteen minute drive and I'd gladly every day just get a fresh brew cup of local roast and a flaky pastry. Oh man, the pastries. Sweet, but definitely not too sweet, they are the perfect compliment to whatever you get; whether its one of their many specialty blends or a regular black coffe. Realized I had never left a review and need to fix that mistake, especially to try and balance out negative reviews about mask manadates that have nothing to do with the business (personally appreciate their diligence during a pandemic). Been coming here since open, it has only gotten better and better. Staff is really what makes this my go to spot for a pick me up or quick snack. I stan for mom and pop shops, but not all are created equal. I was honestly a bit insulted that I've lived in this area, working down the street from this gem for over a year and didn't know about it...but rest assured Yelpers, they've only been open for about two weeks. I just happened to find this place while perusing yelp (the usual) and decided that I would check it out. The coffee shop has a very interesting concept, a very cool and relaxed vibe. They've got a lot going on with some interesting murals and chalkboard walls. The first thing you see when you enter is the wall of self-serve beer. They have ample seating and some of the bar-style seats have plugs for electronics, which is always a plus. It would also be nice if the lower tables also had plugs in case someone was working on something, they wouldn't have to move. I ordered a vanilla-caramel iced latte (think Starbucks caramel macchiato). This latte was phenomenal. It wasn't too sweet, wasn't watery, wasn't bitter...it was delicious, the perfect midday pick me up. You could taste the caramel, the vanilla, and the coffee all in perfect harmony. To top it off, they use coffee ice cubes! I haven't seen that since my favorite cafe in OC, California! Even though I didn't drink the coffee right away, it still tasted amazing and not watered down. I loved the coffee and the environment so much I came again the same evening with my husband. I got a hot Springberry tea and my husband helped himself to the beers. We also ordered jalapeño poppers and paninis. We thoroughly enjoyed it all. I love that it's super quiet and you can still get work done while enjoying a coffee, tea, or beer. I hope it continues to stay this way because honestly I really love it. In just two days, I've been to this awesome coffee shop three times. It's great that it opens early and closes late, very accommodating. It doesn't hurt that the customer service is also superb. Check out this place if you need a place to work and just chill out! First and foremost, the place was clean, the atmosphere relaxing, and the service was superb. That being said, my sister and I did not enjoy the food and drinks at all. The food was very plain and unseasoned. The drinks were too sweet to the point you couldn't taste the flavor of what the drink is designed. We went there based on the reviews. Just started getting sweet beans due to their delivery service during all of the craziness that is 2020 and we've been trying to support small businesses in this time. But seriously, they have a new regular customer, the employees are so helpful and the coffee is sooo good, so far I've gotten a blonde cold brew with vanilla twice and have tried the chocolate chip scone and galaxy chip cookie, which both have been amazing. All I wanted to do was give Sweet Beans a 5 star review because I enjoy their coffee drinks and if they could work at full capacity I would enjoy the bar side of the place too.
