Big Mill - Detroit style pizza

If you're tired of thin crust pizza, Bill Mill is the place to go. Their Detroit-style pizza is…read moreexactly what you want--crispy and crunchy on the outside with a soft, fluffy inside. Total comfort food. The hamburgers are juicy and delicious, and the drinks are just as strong. The Old Fashioned is my go-to every time. I've tried a few other cocktails, but I always come back to this one--it never disappoints. The staff is always so friendly and helpful--great service every visit. Yes, parking can be a little tight, but that's part of the charm and uniqueness of Big Mill and its history. We've had a couple of visits where the crust tasted slightly like old butter, but it's only happened a few times and definitely hasn't stopped us from going back. Great pizza, great burgers, strong drinks, and consistently friendly service--we'll keep coming back.

Meh. I've been here several times and have been under impressed each time. The seating in this…read moresmall restaurant is bench style which is not always comfortable for all. The food is good but it's not GREAT. I think the prices are a bit high for what you get. To me, this is a restaurant that is trying to be fancy but can't pull it off. Parking is a crap shoot, at best. The parking lot is super small. The restaurant is easy to access for those with mobility concerns. There will be those who disagree with me but there isn't anything outstanding about this establishment. Every time I have been here, the service has been lacking. Everyone is friendly enough but they have problems getting my take out orders correct. I usually get a burger to go. Oh, yeah... fries are extra. If I'm paying $14 for a cheeseburger, you would think fries would be included. Not here. Bottom line... it's not bad but there are other, better restaurants in town.

First of all, the tables are far enough apart that you don't feel crowded and the whole vibe is really nice and relaxing. Our server, BODHE, was very attentive, quick, friendly and knowledgeable about our menu questions. He kept our drink glasses filled and checked on us frequently. Between our party of 8, we ordered the All Burger No BS, the Diablo Burger, the Mac and Cheese with bacon, another M and C with brisket, a Smash Burger and a grilled cheese. We had fries and tots and although their fries are really good, the tater tots are EXCELLENT! Their specialty dipping sauces are great as well. Most of us were too full for shakes but someone had a Birthday Bash shake and it was good too. This was my husband's and my 2nd time eating here but the first time for everyone else. BIG PORTIONS and REASONABLE PRICES!! Check them out soon!!

I guess that's what napkins are for. On our visit for a late lunch recently, they weren't very busy and the service was good. I asked for medium temp on my sandwich but what we both got was well-done. The french fries were hot and crispy and I really like the presentation--in a mini fryer basket. I'm hoping the over-cooked hamburger was a fluke and will give them another try. They certainly have a great reputation.

Dining out at any kind of restaurant has gotten pretty spendy in recent years and I've tried to…read moreadjust my expectations. But when I pay the kind of prices they charge at Silo, I need to be wowed and I just haven't been the two times we've dined here--hence, only 4 stars. Food was very good, service was good (maybe a bit slow) and the atmosphere is great. There was just something missing...

Today's review comes to you from the land of manicured greens and pricing that definitely knows…read moreit's on a golf course. We hit the club for brunch with a group, and while the ambiance was pure "Country Club Chic," the execution was a bit more "Sunday Morning Sand Trap." The Liquid Courage I started off my round with two drinks. the Bloody Mary. It was fine--tasty enough, but it certainly didn't change my life or inspire any poetry. However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.

I am unsure if this venue still does weddings, but if it does and still has the same ownership…read moreBEWARE! I had attended a BEAUTIFUL wedding at the venue(2005) which was why I had pursued using them for my 2008 wedding. Mistake. I had felt we had very open communication with the venue... until the event. We had booked the venue from 7pm till 12 am. The owners had told us we could set up on Friday so we did, and I had asked about post party clean up. They had told us they did not have another event till Oct 10th so we could clean up Sunday. Well. Come about 10 ish PM the staff began cleaning up and taking tables and chairs out of the storage during my reception! Ok so I as a little irritated... but I let it go. I then went upstairs to get my stuff from the dressing area.... Well the entire upstairs has been rearranged for their next event... ok no biggie but my stuff had been THROWN on the FLOOR! Ok now I am a little irritated! So I go back down stairs... it is around 11 pm now... Then I notice that one of the staff is taking it upon herself to take all the table cloths off the tables and stack the chairs, she even had the audacity to ask one my guests who was sitting what chairs she could take. I HAD HAD IT! Basically long story short, the owner made if very clear we only had so much allotted time, FINE but you should not be cleaning up my party DURNING my party! At that point the owner YELLED at me in front of my guests and made it clear I was not leaving with out paying...my reply "I am well Aware I owe you money! I have every intention of paying, you!" I was insulted and embarrassed! So would I recommend the Mill.... NEVER! They ruined the most memorable day of my lifetime, the owner took a few hundred off the "rental time' part of my bill, I filed with the better business bureau but due to the fact he had made offer to "correct" the mistake there really was nothing more to do than make the situation known for others who might select this caterer for their event. Yes... I am still bitter. Hell Hath no Fury like a Bride Scorned!
