On a recent visit, they had smoked wings on special, and I tried those. I liked them, but they were a bit on the dry side. Likely from reheating them or something. The smoke flavor and sauce were good though. Quentin's is located at the Olde Mill, so there are other places to explore and enjoy while you are there, including a brewery. The place is super cool and has a lot going on. The service at Quentin's is pretty quick. You order at the window, get your number, and find a place to sit either inside or outside. Overall, a unique addition to the KC BBQ scene. Worth a visit for sure.

I loved the ambiance. Outdoor window, counter service place, with a dining room inside of a brewery. Very nice people at the window. And the food came out pretty promptly. As for the food, everything was pretty good. The wings had a nice smoke to them and were just sticky enough from the sauce. I also loved the mac 'n' cheese bowl that was topped with brisket and crispy fried onions. Bowls are so trendy, but so good in the BBQ world. Make sure you get your hands on some sauce, because the pulled pork will definitely need it. Brisket was pretty ok, too. Overall, this was a nice little meal.

Looking at past reviews, they keep the place decorated to a relevant theme. It was World cup when I was there. The staff was helpful answered question about local microbrews. Got all of my food to go. Of course being a heat geek, I had to try the Diablo Burger. It had a great flavor, but no, not hot. Maybe a 6/10. Also ordered the Cheesy Fried Pickles which seems to be trending across burger joints. Hard to be made at this one, crispy wanton wrapper stuffed with pickle, bacon and cheese.

The space has a really nice, open layout, and our server was fantastic and incredibly attentive. Our eyes immediately went to the shake menu, and our server was nice enough to let us split a cinnamon roll shake, serving it up in two separate glasses for us. For food, my buddy got the tenderloin sandwich. It wasn't one of those cartoonishly dinosaur-sized portions you see at some places, but he said it was really tasty and well worth it. I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with garlic aioli, and it hit the spot. The burger was tender and juicy, the mushrooms were perfectly seasoned, and the bun was toasted (always a nice bonus). Even the fries were perfectly crispy. All in all, I was very pleased with the meal. I'll definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu!

But when I pay the kind of prices they charge at Silo, I need to be wowed and I just haven't been the two times we've dined here--hence, only 4 stars. We hit the club for brunch with a group, and while the ambiance was pure "Country Club Chic," the execution was a bit more "Sunday Morning Sand Trap." The Liquid Courage I started off my round with two drinks. the Bloody Mary. It was fine--tasty enough, but it certainly didn't change my life or inspire any poetry. However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.

I had attended a BEAUTIFUL wedding at the venue(2005) which was why I had pursued using them for my 2008 wedding. Mistake. I had felt we had very open communication with the venue... until the event. We had booked the venue from 7pm till 12 am. The owners had told us we could set up on Friday so we did, and I had asked about post party clean up. They had told us they did not have another event till Oct 10th so we could clean up Sunday. Well. Come about 10 ish PM the staff began cleaning up and taking tables and chairs out of the storage during my reception! Ok so I as a little irritated... but I let it go. I then went upstairs to get my stuff from the dressing area.... Well the entire upstairs has been rearranged for their next event... ok no biggie but my stuff had been THROWN on the FLOOR! Ok now I am a little irritated! So I go back down stairs... it is around 11 pm now... Then I notice that one of the staff is taking it upon herself to take all the table cloths off the tables and stack the chairs, she even had the audacity to ask one my guests who was sitting what chairs she could take. I HAD HAD IT! Basically long story short, the owner made if very clear we only had so much allotted time, FINE but you should not be cleaning up my party DURNING my party! At that point the owner YELLED at me in front of my guests and made it clear I was not leaving with out paying...my reply "I am well Aware I owe you money! I have every intention of paying, you!" I was insulted and embarrassed! So would I recommend the Mill.... NEVER! They ruined the most memorable day of my lifetime, the owner took a few hundred off the "rental time' part of my bill, I filed with the better business bureau but due to the fact he had made offer to "correct" the mistake there really was nothing more to do than make the situation known for others who might select this caterer for their event. Yes... I am still bitter. Hell Hath no Fury like a Bride Scorned!

We started with the Mini Cheddar Biscuits to share, which come with four biscuits. They were excellent--fluffy on the inside with a slightly crispy exterior. The cheddar flavor hit first, followed by a touch of sweetness from the honey, and the combination worked really well. For my meal, I ordered the Fried Chicken, substituted the mashed potatoes for mac and cheese, and added a side of collard greens. The fried chicken was absolutely amazing, perfectly seasoned and fried. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and cheesy with a nice crunch from the breadcrumb topping. The collard greens were some of the best I've ever had. They had a great smoky flavor and were well-seasoned without being overly salty. The only downside to the experience was the service toward the end of our meal. We sat for around 15 minutes waiting for the bartender to come by so we could get drink refills and the check. We eventually had to wave them down, even though they were working right in front of us. Overall, the food was outstanding and easily made up for the minor service issue. I'll definitely be returning to try more of the menu.

We parked a block south on 51st Street and walked into the restaurant at 540pm on a Thursday. I ordered half the happy hour menu and my friend ordered a bottle of Moscato and the Ribeye. He smiled and said half price wine! Our server was attentive, but he ordered the food all together instead of coursing it out. I should have asked for half of mine to come out early as we were sharing. The tacos were ok, good flavor, but basic presentation. The Fries were delicious, the Brussels and Cauliflower were awesome. The Hawaiian Ribeye was also good, cooked perfectly, good flavor, but the chilled cucumber salad on a warm plate was an interesting choice... We were off to a show, so we didn't have time for dessert.
